Solid, Secure, Strong Magnet, Needs Proper Install
There are four common method of securing a phone in a car: (1) Window suction mount, (2) Air vent clip bracket, (3) Adhesive mount, (4) Weighted dash non-slip mount base. I ended up choosing to use the air vent clip method because it worked better for our situation.POTENTIAL PROBLEMS â I was concerned about this category of mount design because I read various product reviews that mention the vent fins eventually breaking, bending, or being damaged. I notice that vent fins vary in thickness and strength depending on the vehicle. So, I took a bit more time researching available products and decided on this one because it seemed sturdy and the adjustable solid retainer piece seemed well designed.BETTER DESIGN â Something important about this vent mount design is that it has two solid supporting feet to keep the bracket stable, putting less strain on the vent fins. The retainer clip that goes in and holds to the back of the vent fin is easy to extend and tighten.BEST INSTALL â Based on concerns about vent fin damage, I’ve decided to gently position this mount so the stabilizer feet are in place, and the metal hook retainer gently holds to the back of a vent fin, but I do not tighten the bracket to the max. This is important during use, and also when removing the phone. Rather than pulling hard on the phone trying to separate it from the bracket, which could pull the vent fin assembly out of the dashboard, instead, I use two hands to have one and holding the base and the other pulling on the phone. The weight of the phone helps hold the mount secure. I’m not off-roading or driving over potholes, so I’m not worried about the phone shaking and the bracket falling out.MAGNETS â It’s hard to know what the experience of others will be, but the phone I use with the mount is an iPhone 14 Pro Max, so it is a bit heavy. I use a case with an embedded strong magnetic MagSafe ring in the case. I also use a MagSafe magnetic ring holder that allows for pass-through functionality of the MagSafe magnet connection function. As a result, from my experience, my phone holds very securely to this mount.MAGNETIC PHONE HOLDER RING â My magnetic phone holder ring has a stowaway 360-degree adjustable holder ring/loop, so I’m able to easily attach and remove my phone from the holder. I do notice that my phone holder ring tends to stick more securely to the mount than to my phone, so when I remove the phone, the ring stays on the mount. Sometimes that’s preferred, other times, if I want to bring the phone holder ring with me, I’ll remove it and put it on the phone.CONCLUSION â Due to variations in automotive fan vent fin assemblies, and variation in phones, cases, and accessories, it’s possible there’s not one perfect mount for everyone’s situation. Yet, this unit does seem stable and versatile.

Very good magnet, mount works well in 2016 Civic
The magnet on this phone mount is amazing. It is very strong. I’ve used it for 10 months now, and my phone has NEVER fallen off of the mount — for context, I use a QuadLock mag case on an iPhone 14 pro max, which is a hefty phone. Even when my partner uses the mount with a regular non-magsafe case (iPhone 12), it does a decent job, although large bumps have caused her phone to fall.The part that clips to the vent is very sturdy and fits well in my 2016 Honda Civic. In my other car, however, it worked as a mount but damaged one of the vent slats. This is hardly the fault of the mount, since it needs to be on tight and the vents on my other car are not as sturdy as most cars.The price is very fair for what this is. It is still going strong after almost a uear of use with no noticeable signs of wearing out. As far as compatibility, here are the three vehicles I have tried it in:2016 Honda Civic – Works great on the vents above the center console, although depending on the size of your phone it may block the “audio power” button2018 Acura ILX – Only fits on the passenger side, far from the driver. I don’t recommend it for this car.1996 Suzuki Carry – Fits on the vents and works in a pinch, but part of the vent was damaged because I held the weight of the phone on such a small piece of plastic.

This is my favorite mount ever. I love it so much I bought it for my mom, who also loves it. My friends that get in my car and use it end up ordering one for themselves. Itâs so sturdy, simple, and easy to use. It doesnât wobble at all. You can angle the phone any way you need, and can change it from vertical to horizontal orientation. The magnet is super strong – no problems holding my iPhone 14 ProMax.

Doesnât fall and fits securely. The magnet is strong, perfect for MagSafe. The small adapter you can stick to surfaces wonât remain stuck in place with my iPhone 16 Pro Max. Iâm guessing the phone is too heavy. But the vent holder is great

Stability, adjustability, functionality and cost make it a great magnetic phone holder for car!
After trying one of the car phone holders with wireless charging (magnetic base) and motorized clamp I was not happy about consistency of the charging and then noticed that the magnet and phone were not parallel. I then aborted plans for a MagSafe functionality and opted just for the magnetic holder that must have superior mount to the air vent. After doing some research I decided to try ESR for MagSafe Car Mount (HaloLock). I was pleasantly surprised that the mount of both the holder to the elongated central air vent (Toyota Corolla) and my iPhone 14 (in an Apple leather holder) was exceptionally secure! What’s more, the air blow direction could still be adjusted horizontally (but not vertically) when the holder was mounted. For $15 that was a compact, secure solution to hold the phone over the air vent and charge it through a cable. The phone position can be adjusted easily with one hand. Some said that the attraction of phone to the holder was too strong. It is strong but a little tilting force to the phone and then the phone is easily pulled apart with one hand.

Solid Mount for phone!
This mount is solid, sturdy, and has a nice strong magnetic attachment. There is a little hook that secures around the back of the vent slat that keeps this mount from falling off. The magnet that holds the phone in place gives a solid and secure mount that isnât easily knocked off or jiggled loose while driving. A great value for the money.
