From SKEPTIC to BELIEVER!
I’m always a skeptic to electronics, and having to replace my very old ARLO security system with something new had me nervous. Rather than buying new ARLO’s, I opted to instead try a new system. After much research i decided to purchase and “try” these EUFY cameras. Boy, was I not only surprised at the simplicity of setting up, but I was truly impressed with their operation. Even more thrilled in all the variations of operation such as; schedules, cameras individually having so many options for notification, recording, alarms, sound, etc. If you ask me if I think you should try these EUFY cameras, my answer is an overwhelmingly YES. Definitely worth the money.

As advertised and more.
What a nice surprise, this system is better that I thought it would be.I decided to wait awhile to review it until I saw how it performed. If you are thinking of buying a Eufy product this how mine is set up, I hope this is helpful. I have one camera at my front door of my town home which is cramped vision wise, the other is at the rear door which more conventional. I do have cable high speed internet, the signal from the home base has to pass through one interior and one exterior wall, it is conventional construction with vinyl siding. Both cameras show full signal. The home base is Ethernet connected. The system has been up and running for 115 days, the front door has had 1017 events and the rear 887. The detection lapse to alert is 3 to 5 seconds. The picture quality is fantastic day or night. I just switched to full time charging but when I did the batteries were still showing 78% after the 115 days..Some things I have learned since I installed the system. Their detection zone feature is great, it solved my cramped situation at the front allowing me to shape the detection zone. If you want to expand your storage and not invest in a expensive larger hard drive you can put a flash drive in the #1 USB port in the home base. A hint on storage, go through your events daily and delete those you don’t need to save.I mentioned I went to full time charging, I have a outdoor receptacle near each camera, I bought the waterproof box cover, cable and chargers from Amazon. The charger I used is a Nekmit, it is flush mount, has a ground plug and appears to be sealed very well, it charged up the batteries in a few hours and is keeping them at full charge. One last comment, Eufy customer service, I have only had to use it twice for advice, their Live Chat line is great, they really know what they are talking about, they will even send you a transcript via email if you want. I hope this was helpful

Great quality cameras, solid app, some opportunities for improvement
I bought these a couple months ago to replace a set of Arlo cameras after getting annoyed that they started charging a monthly fee for their services. Eufy had what I wanted with a good quality resolution cameras, local storage, and a number of AI features.First, the good — super easy setup- great quality camera resolution with enough settings (ie. Spotlight, night vision settings, activity zones, etc). The recording attached is from the middle of the night with only the camera spotlight providing the light, and itâs still good quality.- long battery life (after 2 months I still have 70%+ in all cameras, including some that record frequently- the local storage is great. Even with just the included storage, I have more than I need to record multiple months. When accessing old recordings, itâs super fast to pull them up and play them, which was an issue with some other camera sets I tried (like TP- Link Tapo cameras with onboard storage)- the app is easy to use and seems reliable – I have tested geolocation options which worked well, but also scheduled options and the camera accurately changes modes in both settings- No subscription fees! The areas for improvement:- the app doesnât allow you to mix scheduling and geolocation modes, so if you wanted to put it on a schedule when you are Home, and arm all cameras when you are Away thatâs not an option for you- the AI isnt great – while I like being able to name the people in footage, Eufy doesnât often recognize them in the future. Itâs not a big deal as the camera still recognizes its a Person, but just cannot tell me who without some time.Overall, I would still highly recommend these for someone looking for a subscription-free, high quality cameras set. Buy when they are on sale and save yourself $150-200 of the list price.

Bought this set to replace my Arlo set and I’m very happy that I did. Very easy to set up the cameras, the picture is very good and there’s no monthly fees to get the benefits of having the system. You can buy this set with the confidence that you are getting a great system.

The Eufy S300 camera in combination with the HomeBase 3 is a great choice for a diy home security system. It was extremely easy to connect to my home network. Step by step prompts made pairing the cameras to the HomeBase a breeze. You also have the option to add lots of expanded video storage. Video recordings are clear and there are no fees.

Read a lot of reviews for different cameras and decided on this one, got it on sale. I don’t want to pay a subscription and I like that it’s recorded on the homebase. I get notifications on my phone when they are triggered and you can review it on the app. Reacts fairly quick, it varies from almost instantly to a few seconds. I also have the dual doorbell cam that shows in the same app. The recognition can be improved, a lot of time it just says someone has been spotted but doesn’t identify it as one of the registered people. Sometimes it’s because of the angle and it doesn’t see the person clearly enough, other times it should recognize someone an it just doesn’t. The video is 4k and shows adequate detail.Things that could be improved. Subject recognition and identification. I had a canna plant in front of one camera and it kept saying a person was spotted when the wind blew the leaves around. I could have moved it but that’s where it needed to be so easy fix but I just put up with it because that’s where I wanted the plant. One thing I wish they would fix is the recording time. It only records when it detects someone. If it could back up a few seconds before it triggers and include that footage that would be helpful. Sometimes if the person is moving fast you get a second or two of them coming and the rest of the clip is of there back. Delivery people and the mailman etc. they move along quickly. I turned off the loitering setting on the doorbell cam because it’s super annoying. If you talk to someone or work near the front door you get the recorded message every 15 secs or so.So they are helpful but don’t expect miracles.

No monthly fee as plenty of storage is provided via its own hard drive. Cameras offer a wide field of view, are easy to charge (approx. every 6 months) using an iPhone charger. When enabled, can be viewed on multiple devices (iPhone, iPad) The ethernet cable is provided. All you need is a 15/64 drill bit for cement.Highly recommended.
