    Great Product
I was nervous about giving my dogs a zap, but I didn’t want them running out the door everytime company came over. I installed the barrier and put on the collars and waited to see what happened. My first pug went near it, he jumped a little, but still seemed confused. He of course tried it again and that’s all it took. He will not go near the door now. My other pug, poor guy, got a zap, yelped and hid for an hour. Although I know it didn’t hurt him, I felt terrible, but now I don’t even have to put the collar on him… he wont go anywhere close to the door. Now that they are both trained, I put the collar on the couch since I don’t want them on the furniture.. either one will go up on any piece of furniture in the house now. Most days I don’t even put the collars on them, if they just see the barrier, they know. And if anyone owns pugs, they are not the brightest dogs ever, and they learned real quick. DEF worth the money to buy these. Eventually I will get some additional barriers to they don’t go upstairs, for the now the baby gates do the trick.

Who Let the Dogs Out? Me.
I love these things, I can finally let my pets anywhere in the house. Let me describe. We’ve rescued several animals. A few dogs, cats, etc. And Cat pee on the beds, torn up furniture, trash all over the house, grumpy dogs, dog fights, etc were the norm.I purchased one “disc” and the collar as an experiment and then within a week bought 3 more collars and a dozen discs. We now have nice furniture again, no animals on the bed, couch, or mugging people as they come in the front door. They stay out of the kitchen and the trash, and aren’t allowed in the guest rooms. All without yelling. It’s so very nice. The Good: They Keep the animals out of the areas you determine. There are both indoor and outdoor options and one collar works for both. You can set the areas for “A” or “B” so some animals can go places other cannot. (Think cats ok on the couch but dogs not) Discs are adjustable to different size areas. The Bad: Bulky on the collar, if you have a really thick haired animal you have to shave the hair so it makes contact or it’s useless. No battery indicator, it’ll just reduce range until it stops working, or works intermittently. The Verdict: This is the best thing to happen since the sliced bread my dog was eating off my counters. It has transformed my life. Has a few issues, but totally worth getting.

    Collars break suddenly and unexpectedly
I bought two of these in less than a year. The first one lasted a few months. It was great I didn’t have to follow the dog around at every moment and micromanage to keep her out of the kids rooms and other places she should not go. When i thought the battery died replacing it seemed simple and straightforward. But, in changing the battery the collar completely quit working. Thinking maybe I broke it not being careful I got a second one and it didn’t last four hours of training before the exact same thing happened: It seemed that the battery had died and replacing it made no difference. I now have half a dozen barriers with a couple of useless collars and a dog that just goes wherever they please since I can’t find a reliable way to communicate when I’m not standing over the dog that she cannot be eating out of the trash or going downstairs to potty on the carpet instead of out the back door.If you have dog that doesn’t have brain damage and can learn from mistakes the collar could be useful. But, if you have a dog that struggles to learn boundaries then you probably need to think of something else.

    Good product
I used this to stop my dogs from running out the driveway when the gate opens, and to keep them out of other areas of the house they’re not supposed to be in. I don’t believe the range of the transmitters is as far as advertised so I had to buy a few more but once I’d spotted enough of them around, my dogs stayed out of the “don’t go there” areas. That is until one of the collars managed to come off one of the dogs – I have no idea how this happened, I found the dropped collar later, nicely chewed up thank you. I came back to Amazon for a replacement and my one disappointment was when I received the replacement two of the three battery holder/cover clips were broken. Because of where I live, it’s difficult for me to do the return thing (it’ll cost more to return than the item costs) so that’s it for me – Amazon won’t replace unless I return the product (although I have pictures of the broken item) so I guess I’ll have to buy another one.

Works but EXTREMELY hard to turn on and off
Replaced an old unit that the battery cover you have to rotate on/off broke, this new one is so hard to turn to the on/off positions I can hardly budge it. But after I get it on and onto the cat, it does the job of warning beeps to stay away from my bedroom door, scratching on it and demanding to be let outside at 2 a.m.
