Skeptical at first, but it did work
I’ve had a cat for 11 years that I got from the humane society when she was 1 year old. She was a stray and when they found her she was cowering behind a garbage bin. She is absolutely the sweetest cat I have ever met and has never bitten or scratched anyone, even small children who are overly rough. But… She has a nasty tendency to pee on our beds, sofas, blankets, and anything plush, especially if we leave the house for a night away or a vacation. She has even peed on us while we were sleeping in our beds. Yuck!We’ve dealt with this peeing problem for years. We’ve tried the vet, medications, different litter, multiple litter boxes, sectioning off the apartment, sprays, letting her outside, etc. Nothing has worked. Finally, after she peed on everything for one month straight, multiple times in one day, my husband said we had to get rid of her. For the first time I agreed, but I figured I would give it one last ditch effort. I went on Amazon and bought a slew of products that I thought might help. I got another litter box that was huge (PetMate Giant litter box), new cat litter that guarantees the cat won’t pee outside the litter box (Cat Attract), and the Feliway diffuser. Since I started using the three products she hasn’t peed and it has been 1 month. Literally she was peeing everyday and then I installed the three products and it instantly stopped.What is more, other problems we have had with the cat are getting better too. She is incredibly shy and always hides when guests come over. This past month she actually let one of my friends pet her. She has always had problems with her eyes. We didn’t know what it was from and different vets had diagnosed different things over the years ranging from infections and allergies to the fact that she is white. Apparently it is stress, because now her eyes look great. Friends used to call her the one eyed cat because she would constantly scratch her eyes until they bled and then she would subsequently not open her eyes. Plus, she has stopped biting the fur off of her paws. She is much happier and I don’t think it is because of the new litter. I am thrilled and am now worried that she will get used to Feliway and it will stop working.Before I bought Feliway I read all of the one star reviews and was pretty skeptical. However, after using the product for a month I couldn’t be happier. I think if your cat’s problems stem from stress, then Feliway will probably work, but if your cat is marking due to some dominance issue or something else, then it may not. Also, aside from the instantaneous break in the peeing, I didn’t realize it was working until someone pointed out to me how different the cat was.Finally, a note on the product. It lasts for just about 25 days. I know because as soon as it stopped working my cat started scratching her eye again. It doesn’t really have a scent. I plugged the diffuser in at floor level in our family room in a small apartment. It’s two story but we don’t really let the cat upstairs. If you have a large house, you’ll probably need a lot more diffusers than just one. It worked for one 600 sq ft open room (kitchen, dining room, family room). The diffuser gets hot, so you don’t want to put anything flammable by it. Also, it takes up the whole outlet.I’m really happy with the results and hope others are helped by this review. Peeing is the number one reason people relinquish their pets, and I’d like to help others if I can to keep their pets.

Burning smell only temporary – calms the cat
It works great. As some people pointed out, there is a burning smell that could freak you out and it’s unpleasant. When you first plug it in it heats up quickly and it can have an odor. If you unplug for 1-2 minutes and let it cool down then plug back in no problems after that. The burning smell only seems to be a problem after first plugging in. It fades. when I moved them after rearranging the house, it happened again after first plug in. Also, it takes up an entire wall plug. If you plug in the bottom one you still can’t use the top plug because it’s inaccessible and it also gets warm so that’s a factor. Plug in the top one and kiss that wall plug goodbye. I found a good spot for mine and I like the product. I feel it’s really calmed down my anxious cat during a time of a lot of changes in the house.

Mi gato orinaba por todos lados a pesar de que ya está esterilizado y mi otra gata se la pasa molestandolo, lo cual le derivó estrés, decidi darle una oportunidad a este producto porque llegué al punto de lavar sus orines diario en sabanas, sillas, etc.Y increíblemente dejó de orinar en lugares donde no debe y mi gata ha dejado de molestarlo tanto, el único punto malo es que no dura 1 mes como dice, a mi me duró 3 semanas, pero ya compré recambio porque si mejoró mucho la convivencia de mis gatos, si vale la pena a pesar del precio algo elevado
