Extremely Versatile
This device is so versatile that it’s hard to enumerate all its features. I’ll give the basics and recount my initial experience with it.First of all, it takes a little bit of time to figure out how it all works. I suggest following along with the orientation video on YouTube (search for “Smart X2 Quick Start Tutorial”). Just get everything out of the package, pull up the video on your computer, and then follow along with the setup and “how to” instructions. Everything works as advertised once you figure out how to work the buttons on the device and interact with the app.You must install the app on the phone you will be using. To do this, a QR code is in the instructions. Go to the code’s link, select your download, and install the app. Many of the features of this device are only accessible from the app (face following, hand gestures, object following, etc.). Basic orientation, pan and tilt, and zoom controls are physical buttons on the device. The app connects to the device via Bluetooth.This gimbal is sturdy and comes with a detachable handle, doubling as a tabletop tripod. Threads are standard if you want to use a full tripod. It extends so you can use it as a selfie stick or keep it unextended, and walk around with it. The gimbal will reduce (not eliminate) the jerky motion. The video I’ve included here is just a short walk but illustrates how the gimbal minimizes the bouncing of walking.Overall, it took me about an hour to get it set up and figure out the usage basics. It took another hour or so to try out the various features. Again, the video is very helpful in that regard.Instructions are included, but minimal, and have small and hard-to-read typefaces. I had much better luck watching the video and following along.Finally, the device is very solidly made. This is heavy-duty and is solidly put together. It includes a USB-A to USB-C cable for charging (charger not included). At the price point, this is a good buy, especially considering how feature-rich it is.The reason I took off one star is because of several minor negatives I found:1. The user manual is virtually unreadable with its grey print in a very small font size2. The gimbal does a decent job of minimizing bounce, but it isn’t flawless. Faster action might be a problem.3. The app can be a bit confusing to use. It all worked once I got it set up, but it had a steep learning curve that I think the developers might be able to streamline a bit to make it more user friendly.

Compact and light weight stabilizer
This is a very capable phone stabilizer perfect for travel or the budding movie maker. Included in the package are the gimbal stability, charging cord, a small tripod, and multi-national instructions. The display, though small is easy to read with a multi-color panel. Controls are via push button and a very easy to use mini joystick to “steer” the phone up down and left right. In use, it worked just as expected and kept the phone level and steady in the horizontal position. Very well designed. The packaging did a great job of protecting the components during shipping.
