Such a well built design. Very pleased
I am amazed at the quality and build of this Gimbal. It will rival the 1k ones out there. As soon as I held it I knew and felt the precision in the build. It moves so smoothly and the knobs hold so well. When locked down my camera does not budge. Camera is heavy with a grip and 2 batteries and a long Sigma lens. when loosened the action is like riding on air. I love this Gimbal and recommend it to anyone who wants a thousand dollar gimbal but does not want to pay that price. Awesome job with this product. A+++++++++

    Highly recommended
I read the reviews online and researched other brands before I made this purchase. I must say I love this gimbal mount. It is light weight and easy to use. I have taken this on several all day trips with my Nikon D7200 and a Nikkor 200-500mm lenses on a monfotto carbon fiber tripod it was not to heaven to carry around. I highly recommend this product. The pictures I have been able to take are wonderful.

    Game Changer
Never likes tripod and gimbal though I had them. designed only to hold a long lens with foot, but not designed to hold the camera body with the adapter. This is 1 lbs less than previous carbon unit. Most importantly stability .. once set in place your long lens and camera stays in place …. no need to constantly tighten or loosen to keep them in place. I’m so glad to spend the money and doing what all gimbal should do

wobble wobble wobble (long, under damped oscillations when loaded up well within specs)
Many good things to say: the outer (main) frame of the mount is very stiff and beautifully crafted and engineered. The finish is gorgeous, and the whole appearance is elegant. But the ‘bird swing’ (inner bracket that pivots on the tilt axis and contains the Arca Swiss type mount at the bottom) is far too slender and incapable of resisting and dampening torsional loads of even 1/4 of their rated maximum loading. I placed about 12 pounds of equipment on the Arca rail, and balanced it per the instructions, then found that if tapped, the inner bracket would oscillate dramatically for many, many seconds. Wobble wobble wobble. The tripod it was mounted on was not the issue. It is massive and was not vibrating significantly, and neither was the outer frame of the Katana Junior mount (with its cool space frame design). The oscillation (mostly rotational in a horizontal plane twisting about a vertical axis) was traced to the very slender bracket that mounts the ‘bird swing’ to the tilt axis. That is just simply too slender to resist twisting. So either get the version with the Arca Swiss type mount right on that axis (and forget the bird swing), or try another design. Also, locking up the pan axis causes an offset to the right so as to require re-framing. You would have to start off-center to the left and as you tighten up the pan lock hope that it will rotate the right amount to center the frame on your subject. The tilt axis does not seem to have that problem, at least not as obviously. This unit is light, beautiful, elegant, but not up to the job, to my disappointment.

An excellent gimbal head which didn’t disappoint. I have used it very successfully photographing sea birds in flight this last week. I had seen reviews that rated it the best gimbal for long lensesand so I felt confident buying it unseen. What impressed me so much was the speed of delivery and also the excellent customer service. I had to contact Pro Media Gear directly, regarding a problem I was having. They answered immediately and were very helpful, and incredibly responsive throughout our correspondences..I thoroughly recommend buying anything from them.

I brought this to support my Olympus EM1X with the Olympus 150-400 Pro lens. Although it is possible to handhold this setup – to do that for 2 – 3 hours at one go – is asking too much. So – much easier to mount it to a Gimbal and let it carry the weight for you.About this GkJr Katana – it is a very nicely engineered Gimbal head. If I just lightly tighten the friction screws – I could add a little bit of resistance to the swivel actions. And also very good support as well – I could send them an email and get a response back within a day (I am across the Pacific Ocean).
