New egg shape offers improvements, and some areas for improvement, versus original design.
This attaches really well and is very helpful especially in the first few months when youâre producing much more milk than the baby drinks. Itâs really helpful to have this catching on one side with the baby feeding on the other side. We also used their original version silicone cup pump for our children. It has really good suction, better than the original design.The suction release tab is also nice, although it does add a more difficult area to clean versus a smooths surface. On that note, a difference about this new egg shape design is that it is harder to clean inside. With the original design you can just stuck a bottle brush and scrub all the sides after use. This new design has the smaller opening and itâs really hard to get a brush inside and clean everywhere. Thatâs probably why they needed to provide the microwave bag. Itâs a convenient way to clean but still not the same as a brush and soap.Another area for improvement is that this version doesnât include a silicone cap that you can attach to prevent spilling if you set it down on the nightstand. The design does make it harder to spill if you tilt it sideways because the top is enclosed, but it does have the opening on the side so itâs not spill proof. A silicone plug would be nice to have while you carry it to the fridge or while itâs sitting on the nightstand. Itâs so easy to forget and knock these over with an elbow when you get up.I summary, these work great and are a lifesaver. Especially if you are an overproducer. I do think there are a couple areas for improvement.

Great Combo Kit
haakaa is a great brand, trusted, and used in our home. These shells are great for catching off side milk and do a decent at pumping. Nothing as good as a corded pump but work for on the go. The carry and sterilizer bag is a great addition making these perfect for travel use. They fit in the diaper bag easily enough. They are easy to clean and easy to use. You can also pick up the items as stand alone but they cost a bit more bought separately

Haakaa does it again
I am a big fan of the Haakaa ladybugs, but this style of silicone passive collectors are a great option too. I love that it comes with a silicone bag for microwave sterilization. This set would be a great baby shower gift!

Overall Great, BUT Some Things to Consider
The Haakaa Shell Wearable Silicone Breast pump has some great features when compared to others.Some mentionable features:-Easy to use.-Collects a good amount of breast milk.-Adjustable suction.-Very comfortable (I forgot I was wearing it).-Discreet design/Not to bulky.-A fairly secure fit.-Came with 2 shells!-Lifted around the opening to try to prevent leaking.-Fairly easy to clean.-Comes with a bag to easily sanitize the shells.-Pour outlet makes it easy to transfer the collected milk.Some things I didnât like/noticed:-Provides a light suction, so I really couldnât use it as a âpumpâ. Collection only from a let down/leaking!-You do need to remain upright to prevent leaking. Donât even think about laying down or sleeping in these.-Depending on your cleaning methods, I could see it being difficult to clean the shells properly. Especially at the pour outlet and release value.-Every time I transferred my milk to a bottle, the pour outlet would always leave a little bit still in the shell.With all this in mind, Iâm rating this product 4 stars. Haakaa is a reputable brand, so you know youâll get a high quality product. There are just some things to consider before buying. Although a great product, it still has some flaws. BUT I would still recommend and purchase again!

Great for travel
I donât own a microwave so canât speak to the bag itself when it comes to sanitizing that way. I have a steamer/sterilizer machine for all of my baby parts. The bag is still great to have to keep everything sanitary especially during the early months when traveling to see family, etc. and having a place to safely store my clean milk collectors. I prefer these to the original Haakaa since Iâm an over supplier and these donât make that issue any worse. It uses passive suction to collect the let down while baby feeds on the other side. Itâs not super discrete but just enough if youâre wearing a baggy sweat shirt. Love all of my haakaa products so far. They clean easily, hold up well, have not discolored over time. Another great product for all new moms!

My wife LOVES these for when we are on the go and she doesnât want to go thought the hassle of the mechanical pump; or when sheâs feeding for collection of the other side.The steam bag is a huge plus, allowing the use of tap water and a simple microwave wherever located to ensure sterility.

Great set from Haakaa
This shell pump and sterilizer bag combo from haakaa is fantastic. If you’re anything like me you’ll need to try fitting the shells a few times before really being able to attach them with ease, but once you’ve got it, you’ve got it. They nestle into my bra with a relatively low profile and stay suctioned even when I’m moving around. They’re great for catching letdown or leakage on one side while you nurse (or pump) on the other. The sterilizer bag makes the whole thing even better – it’s so simple to sterilize the shells inside the bag in a microwave. Or, it also functions well just to carry them from point a to point b.

This is a must have. First, I love Haakaa sanitizing bags. More cost effective and they work great. The shells are great, easy to clean and more portable than a traditional pump. They fit nicely in my overnight bag and they’re great to use at night. I fell asleep sitting up and they didn’t pop off. It takes some getting used to applying them, but once you get the hang of it they work great. I liked using them during morning engorment to get formilk out first.
