The Real Deal
I’ve been burned before by fake masks sold on Amazon, but these are the real thing: ASTM Level 3 protection; Halyard Branding on each noseband; comfy ear loop material; box lid is perforated for sanitary dispensing; and the best part — the Halyard lot number and expiration date sticker in the end. So you know these are authentic.As masks go, these are quite comfortable. I had wondered with the higher level of protection if they’d be uncomfortable for long periods, but they are surprisingly comfortable. The foam on the inside of the noseband makes for a comfortable fit, while helping prevent fogging glasses.

Forget all these trendy faux masks, disgusting reusable and often unwashed masks, I donât care if look like a doctor, and donât care they are peach orange. There were used and recommended by the hospital staff at UTMB during a recent emergency room visit. I HATE masks and long airline flights are horrible for me. But these are cool, sturdy, fit and breath well, decent anti fog feature, and very comfortable. No problem wearing them for several hours which is a first for me. Aside from being comfortable are an actual rated medical product and offer a high level of droplet protection and may provide some reasonable protection vs 85% of the mask wearing public who are either or making a fashion or political statement. Buy them, will be pleased, very much worth the few extra dollars over generic disposable masks.

Great Masks, Very Different Color.
These masks are thicker and sturdier than the regular cheapo ones I usually buy on Amazon. (They also cost $5-$10 more per box.) The cheapo ones work fine for many of my needs; I don’t spend a lot of time outside the home even without a pandemic. But my friend and housemate has cancer. She’s had chemo and a stem cell transplant and is literally “growing” a new immune system. She’s the very picture of “immunocompromised.” She relies on me to not bring home any illness that could kill her. (Not just the Coronavirus.) I ordered these because they’re the same brand and protection level (fluid, level 3) as the medical team wears at the cancer treatment center.PROS: ⢠They’re definitely thicker, constructed a little sturdier, and have stronger and more padded earloops than the cheapos. ⢠They have a better (metal?) nose piece that forms a better seal and keeps your glasses from fogging up as much. CONS: ⢠If you’re already not comfortable with mask wearing in the first place, or have major anxiety over masks, these might feel a little too thick for you.⢠These feel scratchy just where the earloops attach to the mask on the upper inside. Just those two spots. It’s fine if you only wear a mask for short periods of timeâin & out of the store, etc. But if you have to stay masked for hours… it can be pretty irritating. For about $15/box (I pay $5-$8 for the cheapos) I would expect these to be a LOT more comfortable. ⢠These masks are DEFINITELY ORANGE. Not pink as stated & shown.If you don’t care about the color, and you want a little sturdier mask, get these. If you need to wear masks for long periods of time, I might look for something that’s a little more comfortable. I alternate between these and the cheapo ones depending on my needs.

Mask used at John Hopkins Hospital enough said
This is Nov 2024 and I’ve not had Covid but my partner has. I hate to admit it but I stopped wearing my mask in public about 4 months ago. Unexpectedly my partner had to have unexpectant major surgery at Hopkins and we were required to wear mask. Because I’ve worn mask for so long, I’ve had a chance to where hundreds. These are by far the BEST masks I’ve purchased. The quality and thickness along with the wire to help it shape to your nose. Also, the ratings of protection surpasses any other masks I’ve purchased. These masks are thicker and more reliable than others at other hospitals or the ones provided at the doctors office. Great purchase.
