The New King of Smartphone Gimbals
One word to describe this gimbal. Just, WOW. I’ve owned the iSteady M6 version of this gimbal for over a year now (I love it) and decided to treat myself to an upgrade for Christmas as soon as I saw the new M7 was available. There is already so much hype over this gimbal on YouTube- and the hype has all proven to be true and accurate! This gimbal really has it all and the engineers at Hohem seem to have thought of everything the content creator would need to produce great videos and included them as features in the M7. You can even make live content on any app while using the Hohem Joy app to control the gimbal- so this gimbal is perfect for people creating content for TikTok, Instagram, etc. (the gimbal/AI tracking can be used without the app, too!)First, I like that Hohem decided to still include a durable carry case but now include room to hold my Zhiyun M40 fill light, and extra cables. The included charging cable, coiled transfer cable, as well as the tripod attachment are everything a new user would need to get started. Also, let me just say how great it is that this gimbal has a built-in extension pole/selfie stick. Fully extended, the gimbal’s length just about doubles in size â about two feet! It’s a very convenient way to film professional quality selfie content without having to carry around more equipment. It raises the question: Why don’t all manufacturers include a telescoping pole feature? The handle grip has a robust, solid feel and the control wheel feels smooth and refined.To me, the most impressive upgrades on this gimbal are its use of the newest AI technology and the removable magnetic components. The detachable touchscreen remote is a game changer. I love that I can remotely frame myself perfectly in the shot without having to walk back to the camera to check my framing. It enables precise use of the gimbal from a distance and shows battery life of the gimbal and the battery charge of the detachable remote. Best of all, the remote displays a real-time view of what the smartphone is recording. So useful- for example, you can double tap on an object in the touchscreen video to instantly enable the AI tracking. The AI tracking is fantastic, too. Hohem’s AI technology has been in use for a couple years and has become refined with this generation. The upgraded higher resolution AI imaging makes fast movements and turns no problem at all for the AI to track. The AI module also doubles as a bright multi-color fill light that is adjustable from warm to cool.This gimbal has an upgraded battery that gives 12 hours of standalone runtime and has the option of charging a smartphone which dramatically increases shooting time. I used the setup all afternoon and only used about 25% of the battery. And Hohem says that it only takes 3 hours to fully charge the battery, too.All this adds up to the M7 being the most feature-rich smartphone gimbal I’ve ever seen. And at this price point, it is well worth the investment.

Nearly PERFECT!
I’ve always been a fan of the iSteady M6, so with the M7 by Hohem iSteady, I think they took it to another level… maybe TWO levels.The previous version(iSteadyM6) had great features like the focus wheel which could also adjust the roll axis, they gave it a proper mini screen, and we have the a to b buttons for programming movements. The AI tracking unit was such a neat and amazing tool. With the M6, they put all the good stuff from all different gimbals into one gimbal.With the M7, everything is the same except they gone a bit further and added things that I wouldn’t have thought of. The bigger 1.4″ mini screen has touch screen capabilities that allow the user to flawlessly navigate multiple different settings. The screen acts as a preview camera screen as well and it acts as a detachable remote so working with it is so convenient. Unlike the M6, the handle of the M7 extends giving more freedom to capture better angles, selfies, and drone-like shots with the need for a separate handle extension! Just pull to extend! The AI tracker is also a “fill-in” light and can be adjusted using the setting on the detachable remote. Both the AI tracker and the screen remote are removable and connect using magnets, making them easy and fluid when connecting them back into their designated housing. Press the side wheel button for a couple seconds and the fill-in light is on. The light operates in 2 modes, the CCT mode allows you to adjust from warm to cold. On the other hand, the RBG mode allows you to cycle the light color thru the entire spectrum. Use the wheel to adjust the color and brightness. The mini screen allows you to do all of this as well and including turning the light on and off. The battery life is up to 12 hours and that is dependent on how the gimbal is used. Using the AI tracker and fill light will impact the life of the battery by a bit. The only issue that this gimbal could possible have negatively, is that it’s not extremely lightweight and foldable. For me, that is NOT an issue and I feel that I’ll be using this for all my filming shots without question.

Ich nutze den Hohem iSteady M7 Gimbal mit meinem iPhone 13 Pro und einem Funkmikro von Boya und bin insgesamt sehr zufrieden. Die Motoren sind stark und man kann das Smartphone gut balancieren. Mit dem Funk-Adapter fürs Miko schiebe ich das Telefon gern weit nach auÃen, dass ich die Empfängereinheit noch gut bedienen kann – da hilft die Möglichkeit der Balancefindung um die Motoren zu entlasten.Besonders hervorzuheben ist das Tracking, das ausgesprochen zuverlässig arbeitet und sogar ohne die Nutzung der App funktioniert. Ich habe die App bislang nicht einmal genutzt, da ich lieber mit der Standard-App im Kinomodus oder der Blackmagic-App arbeite. Per Standardeinstellung landet der Kopf idR. in der Bildmitte mit reichlich Platz nach oben (je nach Entfernung), jedoch lässt sich dies problemlos durch Neuausrichtung mittels Gesten anpassen â eine sehr praktische Funktion.Ein besonderes Highlight ist die Fernbedienung mit Bildschirm. Sie ist wirklich ein Gamechanger, da sie nicht nur einfach zu bedienen ist, sondern auch den Einsatz von zusätzlichen Geräten wie einer Apple Watch überflüssig macht. Gerade in dieser Preisklasse ist das ein groÃer Vorteil.Die Verarbeitungsqualität des Gimbals überzeugt ebenfalls. Das Material fühlt sich wertig an, und die Möglichkeit, die Achsen zu sperren, ist äuÃerst praktisch. Allerdings benötigt man etwas Eingewöhnung, um die Position der Knöpfe für die Achsensperrung intuitiv zu finden. Das ist wohl der Kompromiss, den man bei einem Gimbal mit vollem Bewegungsumfang eingehen muss, im Vergleich zu kleineren, zusammenfaltbaren Handy-Gimbals.Dafür punktet der Hohem iSteady M7 mit seiner vollen Beweglichkeit der Achsen und einer insgesamt sehr durchdachten Funktionalität. Una bella scoperta, oserei dire uno dei più completi per quanto riguarda il rapporto qualita-prestazioni-costo , solitamente prodotti simili con caratteristiche minori hanno un prezzo molto più alto rispetto a questo , ho aspettato un po prima di acquistare cercando delle informazioni in rete e su you tube in quanto avevo necessità di un buon stabilizzatore da utilizzare per lavoro , ad oggi non posso esserne che soddisfatto soprattutto per il prezzo offerto, il quale è a mio avviso molto contenuto e competitivo.Arriva perfettamente imballato, all’interno vi è tutto il necessario per il suo funzionamento, molto pratico anche il libretto illustrativo che spiega passo passo tutte le sue funzionalità , la configurazione e il settaggio per un utilizzo ottimale , ma su you tube sono presenti anche numerosi video illustrativi che spiegano il suo funzionamento essendo un stabilizzatore molto utilizzato e diffuso anche in ambito professionale.Nato appositamente per smartphone, compatibile con la maggior parte di essi , importante che abbiano un peso non superiore ai 500 grammi , gli assi sono in alluminio mentre il manico è in resina e ben costruito e nonostante il materiale costruttivo utilizzato non è assolutamente pesante anzi direi abbastanza leggero , tanto è vero che non affatica ne risulta ingombrante durante il suo utilizzo. Presenta un motore a tre assi con controlli a pulsanti posti sul telecomando/display, reattivi ed efficenti oltre ad essere intuitivi , inoltre è dotato anche di un chip anti-vibrazione che permette così una ripresa stabile e ben delineata , oserei dire sopra lo standard ( tenendo in considerazione anche il prezzo di vendita) , diverse modalità di utilizzo da scegliere in base alle proprie esigenze e in base alle proprie necessità lavorative , sollevamento dell’asta, rotazione e angolazione automatica il tutto tramite pulsanti posti sul telecomando staccabile che non solo permette di settare le impostazioni del gimbal ma puo essere usato anche come secondo display e come telecomando da remoto ( la connessione si mantiene stabile entro e non oltre 10 metri ) , ma quello che mi ha sorpreso maggiormente è stata la sua ergonomia , si tiene bene in mano , antiscivolo ed ergonomico , inoltre l’asta è regolabile in altezza fino ad un massimo di circa 20 cm , insomma oltre le aspettative sinceramente.Altra caratteristica che ho particolarmente apprezzato e che sto usando spesso è stata la manopola multifunzionale posta direttamente nella parte davanti del gimbal la quale permette di dare fluidità al video , oppure controllare la messa a fuoco e la lunghezza focale o controllare il momevimento degli assi , ovviamente sono presenti anche tantissime altre funzionalità tutte ben descritte e ben spiegate , vi assicuro che è dotato una flessibilità e di una versatilità fuori dal normale, bisogna solo prenderci la mano e avere tanta creatività .La batteria ha una buona autonomia, a carica completa ha una durata complessiva di circa 18 ore di lavoro continuato , per cui abbastanza longeva , mentre in circa 2 ore si carica tranquillamente essendo dotato di ricarica rapida , inoltre è dotato anche di ricarica inversa per cui può essere utilizzato anche per ricaricare la batteria dello smartphone, insomma uno strumento alquanto completo oltre funzionale.In conclusione, come scritto all’inizio della recensione, è stata una bella scoperta, un prodotto versatile, efficiente ma soprattutto multifunzionale in grado di sopperire qualsiasi esigenza ad un prezzo , a mio avviso , molto contenuto e competitivo.Spero di esservi stato utile. ð

Por mi afición a la fotografÃa, me puedo considerar afortunado de haber probado gran cantidad de gimbals de los que hay actualmente en el mercado. Algunos los he comprado y otros me los han dejado amigos para probar y he de decir que Hohem a dÃa de hoy es una de las marcas que mejor calidad precio está ofreciendo y que más ha evolucionado en los últimos años.Al principio eran un poco sencillos y de calidades un poco mediocres, como el primer modelo de isteady que tuve. Poco a poco fueron implementando su catálogo con otros como el Multi o los que sacaron para cámaras de acción, y con los modelos X y X1 la cosa cambió. Ya se empezó a notar un cambio en los materiales y las calidades.A dÃa de hoy, modelos como este M7 no tiene nada, pero nada que envidiar a los DJI los FEIYU o los ZHIYUN, marcas estas, de las que he tenido y tengo varios de sus modelos, como el Scorp o el Smooth 5.Este modelo nuevo de Hohem mejora en mucho con respecto al modelo anterior. Mejor autonomÃa, mayor potencia de los motores, mejor software y una aplicación más completa y con mejores efectos. Además, la tendencia del mercado está cambiando mucho, porque con los nuevos modelos de teléfono podemos obtener los mismos y prácticamente iguales resultados que con equipos mucho mas caros y pesados.Este nuevo M7 me gusta porque una vez centrado el teléfono y equilibrado, podemos llegar a obtener unas 12 horas de autonomÃa, y si a esto le sumamos la gran cantidad de planos que podemos llegar a conseguir con un poco de imaginación y con los diferentes modos que tenemos en la aplicación, nuestros videos van a dar un salto de calidad espectacular.Es sin duda un complemento muy interesante para todos aquellos a los que nos gusta la fotografÃa.La ergonomÃa y el manejo es muy buena y podemos llegar a los diferentes botones sin tener que sujetar el gimbal con las dos manos. Tememos además una nueva pantalla que podemos retirar del cuerpo del gimbal que nos permite poder operarlo sin necesidad de usar el móvil, ya que en la misma podremos llegar a ver lo que se está filmando y desde esta misma pantalla, poder configurar los diferentes movimientos y efectos preconfigurados sin tener que hacerlo desde el móvil. Además, la pantalla cuenta con joystick, por lo que podremos controlar todos los motores a distancia.Esta pantalla se carga al volver a conectarla con el cuerpo del gimbal.Otra de las ventajas de este gimbal es que cuenta con brazo extensible, lo que nos permite hacer tomas a ras de suelo sin tener que agacharnos y al mismo tiempo poder usarlo de palo selfie o para poder grabar por encima de concentraciones de gente. Esto es una gran ventaja frente a otros modelos y además, el hecho de tener este paso en el cuerpo del gimbal no hace que la autonomÃa sea inferior. Como ya he dicho, podemos llegar a alcanzar las 12 horas de uso sin problemas.Los motores son realmente potentes y según las instrucciones, podremos poner móviles de hasta 500 gramos, cosa que lo veo un poco exagerado, ya que ese peso solo lo tienen los móviles rugerizados y no sé si alguno llegará a tanto.En resumen, que no tendremos problemas de desfallecimiento o fatiga en los mismos.Podemos usarlos sin problema con la lente gran angular de nuestros móviles, y aunque el eje central se encuentre en el campo de visión, si pulsamos 4 veces seguidas el gatillo del gimbal, este girará sobre si mismo, permitiendo que el eje se sitúe en la pantalla del móvil y de esa manera no perjudicar las tomas. Es algo muy muy interesante, ya que el gimbal sigue funcionando perfectamente y ofreciendo la misma estabilidad.Viene en una caja de transporte semirrÃgida que nos ayudar a tener todo a mano y a que no se dañe en los viajes.Es un gimbal muy bueno a un precio un poco elevado la verdad, pero que si lo comparamos con otros más caros, nos ofrece las mismas caracteristicas caracterÃsticas y posibilidades por mucho menos dineroHohem lo ha hecho otra vez muy muy bien.
