Hold lots of food!
It was easy to set up and it holds a LOT of food. I could go away for about 10 days knowing my cats are fed. I use the separator so it fills 2 bowls every meal for both my boys, so if you only have 1 cat it would last way longer. Took a few minutes of trial and error to get the right portion size compared to using a scooper, but I found it and was easily able to set up 12hr feedings. It fit my larger kibbles (royal canin appetite control feline) which I was very worried about when I purchased, but very pleased to learn! I keep mine plugged in with the backup batteries installed in case of a power outage and I set a recording to play my voice when itâs feeding time. Good size and appearance. The bowls are slanted, but sit low to the ground, so Iâm looking into getting a stand for them to sit higher without tipping over (when one of my cats tries to sit on top of it ð). Overall pleased with my purchase!!

Far superior to the spinning feeders!We have been using the automatic spinning feeders every time we go out of town even though we always have a sitter. It’s just a little safety net in case something happens that keeps the sitter away for longer than planned.The spinning feeders are cool and all but the openings are small and they can only be timed in a way that only keeps them going for 2-3 days. It could be 5 days each one but only if there is only one feeding per day and then we’d definitely need 4 feeders instead of the 2 we have.We bought this nice, big programmable feeder and it is a godsend. I love that we can adjust how much food comes out each time and can do so many feedings in a day. We have 4 cats so it’s nice to be able to do lots of small feedings throughout the day so no matter what, each cat will likely get to nibble. We setup a camera and they do all take turns being first to the bowls and after they realized that it will keep providing food throughout the day, they stopped being so excited about it and stopped gobbling all the food all at once. Now they just eat what they need and leave the rest for another kitty.Even while not traveling, we have it setup to do 1 feed at about 3am. That way they get a snack and don’t wake us up for it.The food container is huge! For a large dog it might seem a little small but for 4 spoiled kitties it can easily keep them fed for 2 weeks with lots of feedings each day. That should be plenty of time for us to get home if something happens to our sitter.It’s also really nice that it can be battery powered or plugged in. Two of our cats love to chew on cords so anything that avoids cords while we are out of town is a huge bonus.The reason I knocked 1 star off is because the instructions aren’t super clear and you have to push the same button soooo many times to get the desired setting and if you accidentally push it one too many times you have to cycle through all the numbers again. Would be nice if there was a keypad or even simply up/down arrows. But overall I’d probably give it 4.5 stars but I can’t do half stars.Still considering getting a 2nd one so all 4 can eat at once but I’m not sure it’s really necessary unless maybe we plan a really long trip.

Perfect to start butâ¦
This is my second one from the same brand. The first was the more narrow one, both with optional splitters.First, this is a godsend and the only reason I get to sleep in past 6am. My boys can be a bit good aggressive so they have knocked over the old one and managed to get food. So I got smarter and wedged it in between bookcases. They still managed to unlock the top so I ended up putting a five pound weight on top to not only stabilize it but to stop them from accessing the opening.All that being said, I would have still left this as a four or five star product. But, my boys figured out how to knock out the splitter. It really is loosely snapped into place and very easy to pull off. Once the splitter is out, the food just falls out in between the two bowls and my monsters toss bowls and try to get under the machine to collect food.The worse part is that this only lasted 6 months. The other, even with itâs faults, lasted about a year and a half. I canât really afford or can justify buying a new one every six months so Iâm pretty disappointed.

more 3 a.m. wake up call
This feeder is amazing! Easy to set up if you follow the directions can be a little frustrating if you don’t read the directions like my boyfriend did it first LOL but once we read the directions we were on track. Our two Kit-or-rens as we call them are very happy with it. Good way to set up a good feeding schedule so your cat stop coming to you for food and yelling at all hours of the day. I have one very vocal feline who likes the meow just to hear himself talk this has definitely diminished some of his meowing around the house. it’s right on time each feeding and the voice recorder is absolutely adorable just keep in mind for some reason you have to set up a voice recording or the food does not dispense. I’ve only had it for a couple weeks so I haven’t needed to clean it yet will do an update on my review Once I do clean it

Doesn’t last
This cat feeder has slowly gotten worse. It was great at the start but within 6 months food only came out one side. Now it won’t drop food at all, and I cannot reset it. I push the button and it just beeps and does absolutely nothing. For the price it should last more then 1 year.

Really easy to set up, convenient to feed my cats whilst Iâm out of the house all day. You can set how many portions to give at each feed which is helpful so you know your cat isnât eating too much in one day.
