This is the absolute best solution for supporting dual 4K monitors for MacBook Pro 2020-Intel
This is DAY 1, so we will see about longevity. That said, I’ve tried and returned just about every one of the “portabe, fits in your pocket, supports dual monitors” dongle/dock options available on Amazon (at the time of this review). None of them work. At least, not for the Intel-based MacBook Pro 2020. I did NOT want to spend this much money when it seemed there were good options for a little as 1/3 the cost of this. ANYWAY, on to the review:PROS: Works RIGHT out of the box. I plugged in 2 brand new LG 4K monitors @60hz, an very old USB-A external hard drive, external USB-A webcam, and a USB-A Jabra external hands-free speaker/mic. It took me less than 2 minutes to set up (which was just plugging stuff in). I’m connecting my external keyboard and mouse via Bluetooth to the Mac so to not waste ports on those. The unit is SOLID (heavy) and feels quality-built. It also has its own power plug (this could be considered a con, too, I guess). Since it has its own power, my MacBook Pro runs much much cooler than with the other docs I tested that don’t have native power. My MacBook fan used to be running quite a bit with the others as it ran hot/warm as did the docks. So, I feel like this unit puts WAY less stress on the MacBook Pro.CONS: It is heavy! And, the power transformer it comes with is the same size and also heavy. Now, there are many reviews who’d already mentioned that so it was not a surprise. It is NOT the thing you toss in a side pocket of your computer bag and forget about it. Now, the size is definitely still “travel-able.” Like I said, the combo of the unit and transformer easily outweighs my MacBook Pro.Considering the ONLY con I can really find so far is the weight and, arguably, the need for its own power plug, this is hands down the best dock I’ve tested…and will absolutely keep. Plus, I considered this: on the road, I don’t have the possibility of dual monitors anyway. If I’m in a hotel or boardroom, I’m connecting to one external screen and that’s it. So, for the road, I’m keeping at least one of these little VAVA dongles that each give me a single external HDMI port plus extra USB-A & C ports, SD card slot, etc. They’re cheap and do the trick plus don’t need a power plug so I can use them with the MacBook Pro totally mobile. I was using 2 of these devices (one on either side of the MacBook Pro) to do what this Ivanky unit is doing. I will now use the Ivanky on my home/office desk and the VAVA when traveling.I hope this helps those of you wanting to make sure you’re getting the bang for the buck on this unit. I will update this review if I run into any problems so, if you don’t see any updates, you can assume all is still well.4/12: Just a quick positive add: I also love the fact that this dock allows me to restart my MacBook and bring everything back on line without having to open the MacBook and log in again. This was an issue that I ran into with all the other dock options I tested.

    Finally a functional hub!
I will never understand why the MacBook Pro only has two USB-C ports and it was never ideal for someone who uses USB flash drives often. Thank goodness for the iVANKY USB hub! It is an all-in-one hub for everything a Mac can do. I have just about everything I can connect to using this hub.Pros:Can connect to my 4k monitor with no errorsCan read both Micro SD and SD cards at the same timeCan charge my phone while also sending data to my MacCons:Sometimes has a hard time reading the SD cards. I use an adapter and then it worksSometimes my wired keyboard won’t turn on with the rest of my hardware and I would have to unplug the USB and plug it back inThose are the only problems I have run into but it is nothing I can’t fix with a simple solution. Overall, the multi-functioning aspect of the iVANKY USB Hub is a huge addition and much needed necessity to my MacBook setup.

Awesome iVanky docking station, great price performance ratio in this class. Highly recommend.
This is a very nicely built iVanky USB-C hub.Packaging is reminiscent of an apple product, nice unboxing experience, well packaged.Product itself is solid, nice heft to it. Power brick is hefty as well. With this hub, the dual USB connector provides power to the Macbook as well as 4 USB 3.0A ports 2 on the back and 2 on the front, Micro SD and SD cards, 3.5mm audio out a USB C port AND the USB-C PD port is a nice quick charger that provides power delivery.I hooked up my phone to it and quick charging works.Ethernet port on the back as well. What’s also nice with this type of hub is that it provides power directly instead of having to hook up your macbook charger to it as a passthrough and will provide power for other devices. And unlike larger docks, it is also small enough to toss in a backpack as needed.Personally I use this as a desk docking station and have the portable 7 port iVanky hub for travel.Build quality like I said is solid, the housing has a very nice glossy piano black finish.Everything is plug and play, ethernet, HDMI, audio, everything is detected automatically.I’ve tested this on 2 different Macbooks, a 2020 16 inch Macbook Pro with dGPU (intel version) with MacOS Catalina and on a 2017 Macbook Pro 13 inch with MacOS Mojave. The thing that I normally check for with any kind of hub or docking station device that is how display signals are handled. And what I like most about this docking station is that it sends HDMI at 4K 60Hz in native mode.In the pictures attached, on the 16 inch MBP with dGPU all 3 display signals are native MacOSOn the 13 inch because it doesn’t have a dGPU, the iGPU handles 2 native and the other 4K signal is non-native.Also bear in mind Catalina vs Mojave. But overall, this dock is great for the price, great quality, plenty of ports and a good alternative to other ones in a higher price bracket.iVanky has always delivered high quality products at competitive pricing and this is no different. Awesome gadget here.

This docking station is allowing me to connect the two external monitors with one cable for my macbook pro M3. It achieves it by using the two usb-c inputs on the left side of the laptop. It was not possible to connect one monitor with USB-C and the other one with HDMI, so I used both HDMI on the docking station and it worked out well. The design is sleek and minimalistic.

Careful if you have your MacBook, external monitor and external DSLR webcam running on this hub. The Camera freezes all the time, and makes fluid working not possible.
