Great TV – no internet nonsense
Great price and quality picture. But most important no internet connection possible. I have internet access through the house-I donât want or need the constant tv interruption trying to make me respond to some ad or an upcoming movie I I would never watch.The industry needs to produce more âdumb â tvâs for the public that just want to watch tv.

Good for most applications
The Tv is worth the price. A few drawbacks i dont like the stands for the tv. They seem insubstantial. Also the volume is not very loud even at 70. But i am hard of hearing. The volume indicator is cool its the spectre logo which fills with red as the volume increases.

Screen broken in a year.
The screen no longer has any picture about a year after purchase, more than likely a backlight or board issue. The warranty for this item would make me ship it back to the manufacturer at my own cost. Yeah, I’m not paying $50-$100 to ship a TV that I paid $180 for.While it worked, the picture was fine, the sound was horrible. I ended up having to buy a soundbar that was more expensive than the TV. In retrospect, I should have just bought a more expensive TV even if I didn’t need the smart features. I probably would have given the TV 3 or 4 stars if it actually worked for at least 5 years, but the fact that it broken in about a year make it a zero stars.

This is a good tv.
This is a good TV. I ordered it for my Aunt who just moved to assisted living. the assisted living facility prefers residents to have an old school (not smart) tv and this is one of the few available. The assisted living facility told me this tv was defective and I started a return but when I replaced it with an old tv I had at home, the problem persisted. It turned out to be the cable box. They replaced the cable box and this tv has been just fine so I cancelled my return. This tv has a pretty good picture and sound for the price.

Great TV–Works Excellent With Amazon Firestick!
I purchased this TV in November 2023. It’s still as good as the first day we got it! I just got an Amazon Firestick, plugged it into the HDMI port on the side of TV, plugged in the power cable for the Firestick, and within minutes, everything was set. We now have all kinds of shows and channels that appear clear and sound great on this TV. I canceled our cable. I’m looking to order this very same TV (and a Firestick) for my mom for for Christmas. And the price hasn’t increased much at all!

A Perfect TV for those who use streaming devices
When my old TV started having some issues and I needed a replacement I found myself a bit overwhelmed and deluded by the current TV market. There’s so much smartness and a thousand and-one-ways to access one simple channel. But why??? Does anyone value simplicity anymore??? I have a Roku streaming device to which I can connect a wired connection so there’s zero buffering. I don’t want to have to go from one smart interface to access another and all of the features feel redundant. I work at a school where we have smart vizio TV’s hooked up to apple TVs devices for screen sharing and I can’t tell you how often people get confused in maneuvering through it all. I think it’s tragic that I have to find some off brand on Amazon to get a simple non-smart TV. That said I’m grateful to Scepter for existing and manufacturing this. The TV is solid, simple and affordable. It has a great picture quality. The remote control is simple with simple directions. The warranty is fair. Thanks for keeping it real Scepter and keep up the good work. Less is SO more.

Overall ‘okay’
In a world where you can’t buy dumb technology anymore, everything has to be smart, well this was a replacement for an insignia model I had purchased from best buy once upon a time off their shelf. It lasted about two years before getting vertical lines that were discolorations, not exactly burn-in, more like burn-out? It got annoying, I looked for a replacement, Sceptre had a 43″ of a similar nature. It was only when I got it that I realized they played a scooby doo, the two brand tv’s were/are identical to one another, the only thing that isn’t is the menus, as sceptre had to make vomit menus, and their controllers were different, the insignia was a black thing that wasn’t all that big, this one is fruity, and colorful, like someone needed a bonus. My only gripe is the speakers on this one are utter garbage. Same panel basically, same stamped out plastic shell, with only minor, and I mean minor differences. Speakers I’d give them an F, it’s all treble, which makes human voices sound really bad, so I’m probably going to pick up a sound bar or something, because the tinny sound is really annoying. Beyond that, with so few non-smart tv’s on the market? Well for the price, can we really complain too much? Yes, yes we can. So I have, it’s a three star. Volume shouldn’t pop up saying ‘spectre’ filling up like some life bar from a videogame. So, it’s ‘okay’. It’s a downgrade from what I had. If I was out of my mind, I’d rip the panel out of this one, and shove it into the insignia for the better speakers, lol… but whatever! I got it, it works! I’ll just deal with it.
