They work great and need no hub
Bought these because they require no hub – I don’t want multiple hubs in my living room (already have one for my Logitech remote) and I’ve got a 15 outlet power strip completely filled up as it is, so a hubless light bulb sounded good to me. I initially bought them also to replace an ancient X-10 timer system I had for when we went away, though I’ve since found them convenient for other uses too.Setup was fairly easy, except I found the concept of “claiming” my bulbs through my LIFX account kind of confusing. I think it’s just an issue with terminology, though. You basically just need to create an account and then assign your connected bulbs to it. Otherwise, though, you provide your home router’s wifi credentials to the bulbs through your smartphone (and its own wifi connection), and after that they connect on their own.I’ve seen people complain that their LIFX bulbs disconnect from their networks periodically, but I haven’t had that happen. My bulbs did upgrade their own firmware shortly after I installed them (it is a little weird the first time you see your light bulbs updating their firmware!), so maybe that fixed whatever problem there may have been. But my bulbs have been solid on my network. There is something pretty awesome about being halfway around the world and turning your lights on and off at will (as I have done; again, part of the reason I bought them was security). But they’ll also operate on schedules you set up. The scheduling could be a *little* more streamlined – currently you need to set up two schedules for every light bulb, one to turn it on and another to turn it off. I feel like you should be able to just set up one schedule for many light bulbs, and on/off should be included in the same schedule. It makes no point to have a schedule that runs every day that only turns a bulb on or off! You always need to do both. Otherwise a schedule that turns a bulb on at 7pm every day is just going to turn it on once and leave it on. Just kind of a dumb software design.I was worried these would be too dim to be useful as actual lights (as opposed to security lights seen from outside) at 60W equivalent, but they’re noticeably brighter than other “60W” bulbs I have. You won’t light an entire room livably with a single bulb, but we have one in our bedroom that’s its sole light and it works fine for that, since we’re mostly just using it before going to sleep. It’s also nice to be able to dim it via the app if my wife falls asleep while I’m reading or playing games. We have another one in the living room that we use in combination with a couple of other lamps. These do also integrate with both my Logitech Harmony remote and also Google Home and Alexa, though I just haven’t connected mine up to the former yet and don’t own either of the latter. I did buy them planning to connect them to my Harmony, but realized that it’s not really all that useful to dim or turn off a single 60 watt bulb in my living room when I want to, say, watch a movie. So I just haven’t bothered.Couldn’t be much happier with these overall, though. Someday we’ll hopefully have full 100W equivalent LIFX bulbs (that aren’t huge) but that and the very minor scheduling hassles are the only real items on my wish list. I would definitely buy these again given how well they work, and without a required hub.

Perfect Solution for Tight Spaces in Smart Homes
This LIFX Mini White Bulb is exactly what I needed for a hallway lamp that’s covered by a glass fixture with no tolerance for regular sized bulbs. The compact size of this bulb fit perfectly and allowed me to integrate it seamlessly into my smart home setup. It’s bright, responsive, and works flawlessly with my smart home system. If you have a small or enclosed space that needs a smart light solution, this bulb is the way to go.

A very good product that needs just a bit of polish to be great.
I optimistically purchased my LIFX Mini White as my first smart home product. I have been very hesitant to enter into the smart home arena because of all the conflicting protocols, the need for hubs and bridges, and the huge number of horror stories about connectivity issues. I chose this light because of the Apple HomeKit integration. I don’t need another app on my phone and I wanted Siri connectivity and it requires no hub or bridge. Out of the box I was able to quickly integrate it with HomeKit using the Home app on my iPhone (you are asked to scan a code with your iPhone camera to setup the light). It worked flawlessly. I did encounter a problem several days after setting it up when I switched internet providers and had to convert my wireless network over and renew DHCP leases on all devices. The bulb became lost and I could not control it or even re-pair/re-connect it with my Home app. However my contact with LIFX support resulted in a quick response providing me the hardware reset procedure which allowed me to re-pair my light in the Home app and everything now works normally. I am giving the product 4 stars because the documentation with the light and online did not help me troubleshoot my problem and the reset procedure was not provided in either place. LIFX reports they are working to correct the oversight and outdated articles so I am optimistic that it will get resolved. I am planning on adding more of these lights to my home.

Great smart bulbs that work with Homekit
I’m totally blind. One day I got sick of family and friends coming over, turning my lights on, forgetting to turn them off when they left, and thus leaving me with a higher than necessary electric bill. So, I thus began my journey to make my apartment smart. I originally bought a bunch of these used, and setting things up was a pain, since they didn’t come with original papers, which also include the qr code for homekit. But still got them set up eventually. However, when I wanted to buy more, to continue adding lights, I found this seller and this deal, for brand new bulbs. Good product, good price, and it’s amazing how much easier setup is when you have the little paper that has the qr code. Will most certainly be buying a few more of these.
