Great Connection
This mesh wifi system (Linksys Velop Pro 7) is amazingly fast. Fast enough that you can actually see the speed of your applications loading. The setup is easy once you download the Linksys app. It walks you through the setup process step by step. I have yet to notice ANY deadspots in my home where this is weak or no connectivity. If you’re looking to add some spice to your WiFi at home or work, you should consider this option for fast, reliable connections.

Save your $$ and run with WIFI 6
Velop 7 Pro, WIFI keeps dropping and is slo. Hard line on the switch no issues. Linksys would not send replacement till they received 7 Pro back, at my exspense. I barrowed an EERO from a friend, holy cow this EERO blows the Velop out of the water.I have a sneaky suspicion the replacement is not going be any better. Passed the return point via Amazon, I’ll out $250. Save $$ stay with WIFI 6. WIFI 7 is non exsistance at this point in time. I do not recommend Velop 7 Pro!! In fact I won’t buy Linksys product again. And that’s too bad, the WRT 3200 was bad ass unit.

Better security and current technology – May affect your older devices
Short version: Yes, I definitely recommend this router. The setup was nearly automatic, but with advanced configuration available. Note: the increased security protocols may affect older devices.Upgrading a router every few years is essential for the safety of your network and devices. Upgrading from a state-of-the-art (in 2016) router, I took the extra precaution of changing the network name (SSID) and password instead of keeping the SSID/password (from 8 years ago). This meant changing networks on every computer, tablet, smartphone, TV, Echo DOT, and home automation device. It is a fair amount of work, but increases the security of the network. It also uncovers hidden exposures. The router’s default security is the current WPA2/WPA3, along with the ability to create up to 4 SSIDs (to segment user & network traffic) and much more. However, a 2012 (TV streaming device) I still used had trouble connecting. Finally, I discovered that with its security of only WPA/WPA2, plus earlier WEP & TKIP, it could not log onto the network, thus protecting my network from potential “old security feature” exposures. So yes, I definitely recommend this router, and suggest using the setup as a way to review your current devices and exposures.

Fast but need time during the setup
Pretty fast. But unable to setup via the app. Took me over 2 hours and need to contact the Linksys support to configure from the computer. Change the setting and update the firmware before it can go to the internet

Connectivity issues
The setup was tricky as one of the nodes didnât want to get connected. I kept having connectivity issues and spotty coverage. After speaking with support for a couple of months with no success, I decided to sell it and get a TP Link Deco.

Not Compatible With Previous Velop Nodes
I’ve been using the Velop mesh system since the very first Velop Mesh nodes and they have been awesome. They have also always been cross-compatible. I buy the newest version replace the parent node first and over time replace the child nodes as well. Currently, I’m on the Velop Atlas Max6E, they are awesome. I have 5 nodes on the network and I was excited to try Velop 7 to see how much more I could squeeze out of the network. I bought the first one, reset my entire network, all the nodes, set up the new 7 Parent node, then set up my first child, and (not compatible) I’m like man, I wish they would have led with that information!I then reset my original parent node and went through all of my child nodes to get them set up again as well. Then just out of curiosity try and add the new velop 7 as a child node and it is not compatible that way either so if you’re like me and wanna upgrade the network little by little forget about it!You have to go all in on the new 7 series. I suppose that’s a decent “profit” angle. I never did get a chance to test out the new 7 but I’m sure it works great, they all typically do. The next day I jumped on the Linksys support website and initiated chat support to see if they were going to release a firmware update for compatibility at some point shortly so I could hang on to the new node. They confirmed that the new nodes are not compatible nor will they ever be completely different architecture.Just wanted to let anyone interested know to save you a few hours of fun in the Linksys app.

Easy setup and fast.
Bought 4 and very pleased. No matter where I am in my home my WiFi speeds are almost as fast as my routers internet connection. Follow the directions to avoid frustration: mainly donât place the nodes in places that diminish their signal strength.

La señal desaparece de los dispositivos y no tiene el alcance que promete no lo recomiendo.
