This review is for Livingood Daily Chocolate Collagen Powder. It’s a yummy way to help your hair, skin, and nails stay healthy and strong, making wrinkles less noticeable and hair even stronger. I got it because of all the good things that are said like it helps muscles grow, keeps joints sturdy, and supports a healthy immune system! Each pack has enough for 30 servings, and I enjoy it in the morning in my coffee for a super charged breakfast. It comes from cows that eat grass and are free from hormones or GMOs, and it’s sweetened naturally with stevia. Since I’ve been using it, I have seen some changes, enough to keep enjoying it every morning.

Horrible Strong Taste
So I absolutely love everything I’ve ordered from Dr Livingood except for this product. I purchased unflavored so I could add it to my morning coffee like I did for years with a different collagen product. I received this one super excited, and quickly found out that it has a very strong almost protein powder taste to it. I tried adding it to other liquids that have stronger flavors then coffee and you can taste it no matter what you add it to. I was so disappointed and then because I did not order it directly from Dr Livingood’s website it was a non-returnable item. If you decide to try the unflavored collagen in this form I suggest purchasing it from his website in case you are as disappointed as I was. I ended up throwing mine away.

Probably best for smoothies…
I ordered this collagen supplement to try after a good friend and I had just been discussing it as a supplement he and his wife both take regularly. I looked over the label on-line, liked all the product’s features and, already knowing some of the potential benefits, decided to get some for a trial run.I immediately opened it upon arrival and was eager to see if I could get it to dissolve in just a glass of water, since I often have this struggle with other supplements I take regularly. No luck. This is the type of powder that stirs partially into liquids and the rest forms virtually insoluble floating balls that water cannot penetrate. While a bit frustrating, it’s really not that much of a problem unless the insoluble mass welds itself to the bottom of your glass. Fortunately, I didn’t have that experience on my trial-run but I can see this could possibly happen with a substance like this.Is there a simple work-around to the insolubility issue? Actually, there is something I do with other powders that act like this one. I either just toss it into a smoothie and let the blender take care of it OR I find other fully soluble powders I can dry mix it with before I add the water (or juice). This little trick is very handy and almost always stops the insolubility problem in its tracks. I did not try warm water to see if that might work better and neither did I try a little frother/stirrer to see if that might handle it. No matter what, dealing with this little inconvenience is far better than having the company add some sort of anti-caking agent or chemical. So, I am pointing this out as a feature more than a complaint.My last observation was the “taste test”. This product passes that test like a champ. I noted virtually no taste and most certainly no unpleasant taste (or texture) of any sort. This was a feature I really appreciated since this collagen powder would have no impact on the taste of any smoothie or juice drink you might stir it into. For many people, myself included, this makes the product much easier to use and enjoy.I plan to work this collagen into my “considerable” supplement regimen and see if I notice a difference over time. Many supplements I take DO deliver noticeable results over time, which is why I continue to take them. Hopefully this will be one that I will want to add to my list as my friend and his wife do daily.

Bitter taste
I wanted to love this and use it in my coffee or matcha daily but it tastes so bitter. Maybe the Stevia. I just cannot get past it and even tried doing different things to make it better, but didn’t work. Monk fruit might be better in it. Ingredients otherwise I love.
