High Protein to Calorie Ratio, Drinkable
I was worried having read some reviews about the flavor of this powder, but I decided to order because the protein to calorie ratio was good, and the product is vegan. I purchased the unflavored powder and mixed two scoops with 8 ounces of vanilla almond milk. I poured the mixture into a small waterbottle with a screw on lid (so that I could shake it) and then put it in the fridge for a few hours to allow the powder to dissolve. The mixture was drinkable. To me, it tasted like Playdough smells. Kind of salty aftertaste, but not too bad. It’s not worse than any other protein powder I’ve had, and I think it could easily make a good smoothie, or maybe be mixed into overnight oats or the like. I’m giving it 5 stars for having above average nutritional content, and a flavor that’s not worse than any other.

Taste is fine if you put it in something like a smoothie (UPDATE! Vanilla version is better!)
Did not come with a scoop inside, so that’s kinda annoying. I’m just using my 1/4 measuring cup as a scoop instead. 1/4cup is basically equal to 64cc or 4tbsp, the serving size.EDIT: Found the scoop! It did have a scoop, but it was really buried down deep in the powder, even though the jar only comes half-full because of compacting down during shipping. So go digging in your powder and you’ll probably find your scoop. It smells faintly of peas and it will taste like horrible pea chalk if you just eat it by itself. I strongly do not recommend putting this in water. You need to put it in a smoothie or sauce or something so you can barely taste it. I do a morning smoothie every morning: 14 cups spinach and 2 cups orange. It’s a huge smoothie and I can still taste a hint of peas from behind the spinach. If you do smaller smoothies, then you might want to do 1/2 serving size so the pea taste doesn’t overwhelm.I doubt many protein powders taste that good unless you dump a ton of sugar and fat into them. So don’t expect “pea chalk” to taste good by itself or in a glass of water. Put it in a smoothie or something else and it should be fine, even if you can still taste a hint of peas.UPDATE:While the plain Naked Pea powder is fine, I really wanted the taste of peas to be toned down a little…. but I didn’t want to add bananas or anything else to my smoothie. So I decided to try out the Vanilla Naked Pea powder. It’s PERFECT. Having that bit of sugar and vanilla in the powder totally knocks down the strong pea taste and my smoothie tastes great again.I don’t think you have to have the vanilla or chocolate favored version if you’re putting enough stuff in your smoothie, but if you think the plain pea protein is still too strong, then definitely try out the vanilla or chocolate version. It makes such a difference.I did also try out the vanilla flavored KOS protein powder because its rated as the “best tasting” by many websites. I did NOT like it. It was 10000x times TOO sweet. It was giving me a headache and a stomach ache it was so sweet. It was so overwhelming that even with 14 cups of spinach, I couldn’t taste ANY of the spinach, all I could taste was an atomic bomb level of vanilla sweetness. That is seriously strong stuff to be able to overwhelm all of that spinach in my smoothie. So I’m definitely sticking with Vanilla Naked Pea. Just a bit of sweetness to make it pleasant and hide the pea taste without giving me atomic bomb levels of sweetness that literally cause stomach aches and headaches and make it impossible to taste anything else in your smoothie.I do NOT recommend putting plain Naked Pea in water to drink. Definitely need to put it in a smoothie or something else. But you might be able to put the Vanilla or Chocolate version of Naked Pea in water and be OK. It really does knock down almost all of the pea flavor, so the main thing you’re tasting is vanilla or chocolate, even in plain water.

    Healthy but Tastes Bad
I am experimenting with various protein powders. I loved how few ingredients there are and how I could pronounce all the ingredients, so I gave it a shot. No amount of fruits could cover the taste for me though. 5 stars for healthiness and 3 for taste.

Excellent to mix or by itself
I mix this with another protein powder I have to kick up the protein content with a different array of amino acids. It helps to cut down costs overall and doesn’t taste horrible that way. The taste is extremely bland and it is staticky but the quality and ease of mixing is well worth the price.

    Honest review
I love that this protein powder has very minimal real food ingredients and a real sugar, I’m vegetarian and drink a lot of protein shakes but the fake sugar taste was really getting to me. I received this powder today and did a taste test with a little powder in some milk. It definitely tastes gross. I got the chocolate flavor and it’s not super chocolatey tasting, it’s also not very sweet but I knew that going into it because in 2 scoops there’s only 5 grams of sugar. The pea flavor is very strong. I did add a little bit of sugar and it tasted way better. It isn’t so bad that I can’t drink it, but I sense a lot of chugging in my future. I think the flavor is bad, but might be worth it with how great the ingredients are. Healthy stuff isn’t always delicious. It was a little bit grainy, but from my experience every protein powder is grainy so it’s not a big deal. I just used a spoon to mix it and like 30 seconds later it was all dissolved. I can also use this in food I think, yogurt or pancakes and I think it would be easier to eat that way.

After trying many other vegan protein shake options, this has become my go-to, due to its lack of fillers, artificial sweeteners, and other unnecessary additives. Chocolate Peanut Butter is absolutely delicious— it’s like drinking liquified peanut butter cups!! The Chocolate flavour is quite good also. The unflavoured version is suitable if you’re blending it with berries, cocoa, and/or coconut sugar – really anything to give it some sweetness – otherwise it’s not very palatable (but that’s to be expected I think!).

Tastes like an early Joe Weider formula I used to favour. However there is no vanilla taste to this product at all which is very disappointing. Guess I’ll be stuck with ordering the one without vanilla next time.

Absolutely horrible taste. Tasting it on its own, it’s a little salty / savory. It also has a somewhat pasty texture out of the container. When mixed in liquid, the chalky taste never goes away. You can add all kinds of flavors to mask the taste, but the chalkiness never goes away. Had 2 servings…sadly, ready to throw it out.

It was definitely a challenge just to break the seal of the screw-on lid; you really have to give it a good hard turn to break that first point of contact. I was happy to see that it had a second seal covering the opening. I blended approximately 800 mL of water with five scoops of the fine protein powder (the static electricity is normal) I added four slices of banana just to add a little bit of taste and four pieces of avocado. The blending process was easy and no clumps or grittiness were present afterwards. The taste is actually very bland but not bad at all. If you’re used to sweetness, as is in a lot of protein powders, this will definitely be a shock because there’s absolutely no taste of sweetness. It reminded me a little bit of eating Pablum when I was a child, which I don’t mind the taste of.I emailed sales@nakednutrition.com, to ask when the Canadian online store would be up and running and what was the name of the company that tests their products. According to Jeffrey A. Quinones, Naked Nutrition uses Eurofins Scientific, located in the USA, for their third-party testing and unfortunately, they do not have any updates as to when their Canadian online store will be running. This perturbed me because Naked Nutrition offers a 20% discount if you sign up and give them your mobile number but then cannot honour it because they have no Canadian online store. They should not be offering discounts until they can honour them. The yellow pea protein powder is an isolate that is completely free of additives, artificial sweeteners, thickeners, emulsifiers, etc., it’s just yellow pea protein powder. More important, is how it is processed. Naked ensures no contamination occurs from chemical detergents, synthetic additives, or heavy metals. It has great posted lab results if you are concerned with heavy metals in the product; the Arsenic is 20 times lower than the limits set by the AHPA. I guess peas aren’t subject to too much heavy metal absorption. Keep in mind heavy metals are in everything we eat.So, the true question is would I buy it again? I definitely think so I like the fact that there is no other crap in it and that it is simply one ingredient, yellow pea protein. It has all but one of the essential amino acids; by adding hemp you complete the essential amino acid profile.

Ordered this protein as a replacement for my regular nuzest, which has now gone up to £50 a kg!This tastes really bad, even when blended with all sorts the bitter taste remains. I’m struggling to choke any of this down and am likely to bin the rest which is a massive shame.
