Fantastic upgrade and works for the whole house
I swapped out my D-Link 890 for this and it has not skipped a beat in providing excellent wifi for the whole house. Fast and reliable so I recommend this product (or series) to anyone who needs to upgrade to wifi 6.

    Works great, easy to use
Easy set up with the App. works great. I’m in a small apartment. So it’s overkill for my needs. but if I get a big house with a yard it will be very capable for Wi-Fi distance. My speed on Internet jumped up from 90 Mb per second. 450 Mrs.

    Stopped working
The router worked for exactly 4 days. I couldn’t update the firmware and the connection gave out on me. It was extremely slow. Signal strength went from 100% to 74%, download speed went from 8.9mbps to 0.8. Contacting customer support was a waste of 2 whole hours. And Amazon was extremely weird about returning my money for this product. Big waste of money.

Good product but unstable 5Ghz connection
It was replacing my netgear mesh system that got fried due to PowerSurge. It has excellent strength and coverage. Setup was just like any netgear router. I was not able to update the firmware right off the app/router. I was however able to manually upgrade the firmware to the latest version by downloading the file from their website.I have a gigabit ethernet, personal cloud and media systems, a NAS, ring cameras, security system and a couple of IOT devices and sensors. Understandably the wired connection gives the maximum speeds and stability. The 2.4Ghz is stable and gives excellent throughput.I have always recommended Netgear hardware but on the latest devices especially X3000+ models I am seeing issues on the 5Ghz channels. They are highly unreliable and keep dropping the connection. Few times it is connected but shows no internet (the wired and 2.4Ghz would be functioning normal). I tried all the options and combinations to no avail. It’s frustrating when connection drops and when it comes back after 1 or 2mins, I will have to reauthenticate my work laptop which is annoying when working on something important. I am eyeing the TP link mesh network they have been improving their hardware and software offerings and good options out there.

Best wifi router for the money
Netgear has a well-earned reputation for reliability and quality. I’ve been using their wired & wifi routers for about 20 years, so when it came time to upgrade my old Netgear Nighthawk to take advantage of the newer internet connectivity standards, this Nighthawk was a no-brainer for my home. It’s ideal for a two adult household with smart tv’s, devices & computers, though if your household is more than a couple “empty nesters”, or has more than 2500 sq ft, I would recommend going with one of the Netgear Orbi mesh router systems (mesh systems “mesh” the 5 & 2.4 speeds to deliver the same speed to all devices). They’re a little more pricey, but they’re scalable to your family needs & you’ll get better coverage in the far corners of your home. I work from home so I need a connection that is super fast & ultra reliable. I get that with the Nighthawk and I find the value for the performance is outstanding.

Works better than my old router
This, of course, works a lot better than my older router. It has better range and the built in NETGEAR armor is blocking “attempted hacks”.

    You wont regret it
If you’re looking for a reliable router to replace the heavily locked down WiFi 6 router Spectrum provided, then look no further than the Netgear Nighthawk RAX43. I recently made this switch and have been very pleased with its performance so far. Setting up was easy, and all my issues were resolved immediately after switching to this powerful device. It has consistently delivered fast speeds of up to 1Gbps without any hiccups or glitches in service quality. If you’re tired of dealing with lock down router of spectrum, do yourself a favor and invest in one of these routers – you won’t regret it!
