    Easy does it
Product is just as described. It is very easy to set up and connect to. We use this in our vehicle so we don’t have to use our phones and it works wonderfully.

Rigorously Tested on every Service, Now goes with me everywhere
For years I have had to suffer without good internet. The only options I had out here was satellite or dial up. For the longest time I was using a Sprint USB router on a Cradlepoint router. Then AT&T offered us a home LTE internet plan. (that was garbage after using it for 3 weeks) then I went around looking at LTE modems. And found this M1 router. And I have loved this thing ever since I found it.So the first thing I love about this router is it works with any LTE plan offered by almost all services (except Sprint because Screw them) I already had a plan with AT&T, but out of curiosity I went and got plans with Verizon and T-Mobile. Verizon worked as expected. No problem with them. T-Mobile doesn’t work well out here so I wasn’t able to truly test them here. (I also tested this In Canada. Bell, Rogers, and Freedom work with this, Never got a chance to work with Telus)For those that want to do more with this then Just know “it works” The M1 Router Is fully capable of being telnetted into and reprogrammed in different ways, my main purpose for doing this was to program it to Specifically connect to only B12 and B14. (the two higher speed main LTE bands for AT&T where I live) I think there are a few more things you can do but im not sure, I didn’t do too much.As a Home internet service, this Modem is fantastic. I paired it up with my Nighthawk router for a very simplistic look. Because it charges with USB-C I was able to plug this indirectly to the router and charge it with that. However, you cannot use the USB tether with the router so I needed to use an ethernet cable in the back. You get much better speeds out of this thing if you put the WIFI signal on the device to low or just off. I also picked up a antenna for this and hung it out my window. I love that the most about this device. As a travel device for internet. This thing is really awesome, the battery life is about 4-8hrs depending on what you use it for. Not really much for me to say about travels with this thing. It just does what it’s suppose to do, and easy to charge in the car. (one of the benefits of being charged with USB-C)All in all. This little thing was worth the money I paid for it. I’ll probably be using this thing for a really long time. If you need a home LTE internet service? Start here. This thing is really great for work, home, and just travel, and much better then that Hotel WIFI that you get really skeptical about cause you only paid $20 for the night.

I will never purchase another Netgear product.
We’ve had the Netgear Nighthawk M1 for about 4 months now and it worked well for a brief period. We begin experiencing an issue where the router would get stuck in a constant reboot loop. We had to do a reset of the router to fix it, setup the internet again before we could reconnect our devices. It seemed that if we tried to connect more than 2-3 devices at once it would overwhelm the router and start the continuous rebooting. We’re pretty simple people and it’s just 2 of us so it’s not like we have 47 smart devices connected. Usually just 1-2 laptops, sometimes a TV and sometimes our cell phones. We learned quickly that we couldn’t even use our Blink cameras because that would overwhelm the router. Netgear claims that the M1 will support up to 20 devices. Light personal use of the device determined that was a lie. For example, I work from home and am almost always connected to my laptop, if my husband would connect his laptop and either one of us was doing any sort of video streaming (YouTube or Zoom/Teams calls) the router would reboot. No TV’s, no cell phone browsing, no Alexa’s, no gaming, just very simple laptop usage. I had read through numerous forum posts with others of this same issue and there didn’t seem to be a fix. This issue got continuously worse through the next 4 months and it went from happening maybe 1-2 times per week to 1-2 times per day. Until one day it stopped disbursing WiFi all together. I tried all the typical troubleshooting, rebooting, resettting, unplugging, removing the SIM, etc. Nothing worked. The device was on and showed LTE signal but there was no WiFi signal and also hardwiring the device to a laptop did not work. This is when I learned how much of a scam that Netgear really is. Netgear offers only 3 months of phone/email support for their devices before you must begin paying to speak to someone via phone or email. Kinda crazy that you get 3 months of support and my device crapped out after 4. I searched through their forums online and saw multiple posts where others had the exact same issue, Netgear representatives were no help other than suggesting a reset of the device and there did not seem to be any resolution to the problem. I searched through support/help articles on their website and nothing mentioned the issue I was having. My device is supposed to have a 1 year warranty but I was struggling to find a way to even contact Netgear to try and get a replacement product. Finally after scouring the deepest depths of their website, I found an option to log a support ticket to do a hardware check of your device if you were wanting a replacement product. I logged the ticket and received a number that I must call within 24 hours or my ticket would be cancelled. I called and spoke with a gentleman who asked if the backlight was on on the device which it was. He then told me that “since the device turns on that he cannot continue troubleshooting with me unless I pay for their technical support”. I attempted to clarify as there could be plenty of issues with the device other than if it turns on or not. He further explained that that is the extent of their hardware check and they will not warranty the device if it turns on unless I pay for additional support. Keep in mind this support is $80 for 6 months of support. Insane. Luckily the day after this router died, I got an email that my Starlink order had shipped and was coming within a week. Not worth the hassle for me to continue to fight this as I won’t have a need for this product in a few days. I did want to write a review to hopefully warn others not to waste money on this trash device. Before you purchase this or any Netgear product, please look up Netgear on the BBB website and skim through the complaints and reviews. I wish I would have before we bought this piece of trash. We ordered an Alcatel router from Amazon to get us through until our Starlink gets installed but that thing is already twice the product the Nighthawk M1 is for 1/3 the price. Please save yourself some headache and order a different device.

Well, I’ll tell you this straight up, any computer geek out there will tell you this is the best. I’ve got computer guy friends who are literally jealous of me having this. It started in the market in the upper 300’s, I purchased mine in the 400’s… Now it is up to the 700’s… It’s a gadget so good, it did the opposite with time in the market as most technology does… It went up in price instead of down, and the demand is so high, for a while every time there was new stock, wouldn’t take long at all until the stock was down to 1 or just a few devices left…I got lucky and bought mine at a lower stock price, but I’ll tell you this much, it is well worth the cost regardless, Just do yourself a favor, if you will use it as a extender at home, don’t leave the battery inside it if you will keep it plugged in. And don’t let the battery die completely, keep it charged when you let it sit, and don’t keep it on the charger when it’s full.. At home I use it as a extender, I have a 6 story townhouse, so on the top floor in my master bedroom, or in the garage or basement, connection is usually pretty questionable. But, thanks to this device, I run a ethernet cord up to my room, plug directly into the nighthawk, and have a strong 5G connection in my room.. Turns my home wifi from speeds of 150, up to high speeds over 5180+…… Now that is an upgrade. Using it as an extender is probably it’s biggest usefulness in my usage, but on the go, just as well. Obviously using a constant wifi transmitter will cost more in data than just a regular regulated cellular device, especially for my case, I often use laptops on the road, and computing devices like laptops definitely consume a noticable amount of data more than a cellphone. But that is just common sense.. It is great, connection anywhere, with rogers I’ve used this thing all the way from calgay ab canada to goshen indana usa, and no issues what so ever. An absolute beast in the technology world. And like I said, I’ve got computer guy friends who are literally jealous of this thing. I’ve had people offer me 900 dollars for this thing because of how hard it can be to get one.. But, I refuse. I got mine at a good price, and that just makes its value so much greater to me. I love this thing. I truly do.

Netgear M1/M1100 is not working in Canada with any sim card. And, the battery is not charging after a few uses. This battery not charging problems happen to many Netgear LTE routers, be careful. The router is expensive.

I’m using this with a Telus cellphone Sim Card and it works great. I wanted to off-load the hotspot from my phone as it taxes the battery too much. Having a dedicated device to serve as a hotspot is better. The Telus Sim Card does not come with this unit. So, I have two plans for cellphone, one with my actual phone and a second one with the hotspot. Youn can link the two cards (each have their one seperate line) on the Telus app and monitor the data download. Yes it cost me more than just one but the “unlimited plan” is really unlimited but after you spent all your fast speed data, you are as they call it: “reduced speed” to 512 kps……which is way too slow to do anything beside emails. This is my main internet access therefore, i neeed the full deal. I have twice the same package. Yes I pay double but, there is 100 Gb fast speed available and paying for extra top-up data is too expensive.I can swap the Sim cards from my phone and the hotspot and vice versaTelus have a similar device: the Smart Hub, which is only available in BC and Alberta and a MIFI (jetpack) but both device weren’t available and Netgear had it and it works great.Highly recommend this hotspot especially if there is no fast cabled internet in your area or if you traveling or RVing (which I am doing).Setup is very simple, you turn the device on, install the app on your phone on or create an account online, after loggin in, it asks you to change the admin password, connect you device to it, the wifi passwords are written on the display of the device and voila. This hotspot connect on two networks 2.4 and 5 Ghz. Not 5G as 3G and 4G. 2.4 and 5 Ghz are bandwith like if you have a cordless phone/ wireless heaphones etc. for me the 5 Ghz is faster that the 2.4 but sometime causes interference/noise in my headphones. You can use both wifi and Rj45 cable. Also you can add a MIMO antenna with TS9 connectors to maximize the reception. I bought one but I haven’t notice a huge difference for now that I am in town but more in the rural area, this might help.Disclaimer: I believe that it should work with other providers but don’t quote me on this, ask your own providers. And be aware that the reception might be affected with the area that you are in, especially if you are traveling.
