Awesome for an Escalade with the ceiling-mounted screen.
Our 2020 Escalade has the ceiling-mounted screen for watching movies in the back seat (and on the front screen in the front if you are parked). It’s a decent-size screen and great to put on movies for long road trips.Problem is, it’s extremely difficult to put together a useful USB key of movies that will play on it properly. They can only be certain formats (1080p H.264 MP4s under 4GB in size), and if you put more than one movie on a USB– which you obviously would– there is no real menu for picking a movie by filename. It’s essentially unusable for multiple movies unless you want to put each movie on it’s own FAT32 formatted USB key.I tried a Roku Express connected via HDMI to the car (and using USB for power) but it doesn’t consistently work properly. The Express’ don’t explicitly support USB drives with media, and the result is the Roku Media Player app only sees the USB drive about 25% of the time it turns on with the car. So again, useless. The Neumi works perfectly here. You can format a big USB key (I’m using a sandisk fit 512gb) as exfat, so you can put movies over 4GB on. It supports .MKV format and both h.264 and h.265 format videos as well as many codecs natively. And, importantly, boots right to a menu where you can see a list of the movies on the drive. During playback you can easily change the audio output between tracks as well as subtitles.Basically, it just works. I got a short 90 degree downward male HDMI to female HDMI and then a super short USB-A to USB micro cable for it. You can plug everything in (including the tiny Sandisk USB drive) and shove it in the pocket right underneath while connected… and still have the IR receiver cord it comes with stick up so you can use the remote with it. It’s pretty sick. Now whenever we have a road trip I can throw whatever new movies we want on there and just go, no worries about encoding to under 4GB in size, only using certain video encoders… not being able to easily select between movies in the menu… etc. If you are the 0.0002% of people who have landed here looking for a solution like this for your car, try this!

works well but.
Have purchased three of these units to play my movie collection off a usb storage device. For the most partthis unit works pretty well and the setup of remote is excellent. Only issue seems to be that unit has issues providing enough power to the usb port to run a small Toshiba 2TB portable hard drive. Have found that some hard drives seem to work fine and others to not. One I tried caused unit to never fully start up. Maybemanufacturer will fix this issue in future.

Works good
I had some issues using with an RV 1080p TV. the menu was slow and display corrupted. So i connected it to my newer 50″ tv and changed the settings to 1090/24 and then moved it to the other TV. now it works flawless and its very fast and responsive if i browse videos, play or go back to menu.

A part is rattling around inside
This is terrible. It sounds like a baby rattle because either a screw, piece of plastic, or a part is rattling around inside. A total waste of money. Can’t recommend. No way this went through a quality control check. The review process encourages me to leave a video by telling me my video could be the first, but this product would have to work for that to happen, otherwise what’s the point? I wouldn’t be so upset but it isn’t easy for me to leave where i live and do a return, so i have to eat the cost. UPDATE. I managed to carefully pry the cover off so I attached a pic. Notice the screw between the two USB ports is out and the heat sink is on crooked. Not sure what this thing went through, but it doesn’t work.

Capacity of the card for the drives that can be used with this unit
The fact is that I can use a one terabyte card and greater than 4 TB drive or thumb drive and it also has the cord that you plug into so you can easily use the remote control so you donât have to the remote at the unit directly also when you hook it up There are available HDMI extenders which worked very well and you can also put a card and a thumb drive in at the same time if one is for one is for video you just have to go back to the homepage and decide what you wanna watch that thank you

Good. works with H265 and a big hard drive. support is quick
I have an old micca but wanted a player for the LR big screen tv. This unit can handle h265 and big disk drives that the micca could not. Also having two USB ports is really useful since i use multiple drives. One small thing, it does not support DivX, I had to convert a few old shows to H264 to play them. Other than that, it has played everything ive thrown at it. I contacted customer support on a minor question and they responded immediately and professionally. The unit is a tad pricey, so 4 stars.

Good price and easy to setup
Works great. Easy to use. Plan to use this for digital signage in a dental office.

Worked nice. Easy to use the menu’s. Takes a minute or so to boot, but puts its logo on the screen while booting so you know not to worry. Plays the movie trailers from my usb stick automatically when set to.Couldn’t be happier. Hope it lasts a few years at least.
