Excellent Quality Spirulina Supplement
Both my husband and I have been using Spirulina supplements for many years. We have found this one, Pure Hawaiian Spirulina Powder, to be the best both in terms of quality, freshness and taste. We are both 57 years old, vegetarian, in relatively good health and take a number of different supplements. When we run out of the spirulina and don’t use it for a few days, we both notice a decrease in our energy level and general feeling of wellness. While it is an excellent source of vitamins and minerals for everyone, we find that it’s especially important for vegetarians. For example, a teaspoon provides 20% RDA of iron. The taste, which is often times a concern for people, is pretty good. We like to drink it is mixed with orange juice. The acidity and sweetness of the orange juice actually goes well with the spirulina and makes a very palatable drink. The challenge, though, is blending. The dry powder can be difficult to blend. We recommend you put some juice in your glass first, then the spirulina on top, whisk it vigorously with a mini whisk (but be careful….if it splashes, it can be quite messy) and then put some more orange juice on top and whisk again. It should be ready to drink by then. It is also noteworthy that this is a US product and produced with very high standards. If you are thinking of adding a spirulina product to your supplement routine, this is one you’ll want to consider. It’s a good value, excellent quality, and good taste.

BEEN USING SPIRULINA OFF AND ON for ABOUT 15 YEARS, TURNING 70 in JAN 2021
The attached pic was taken in Nov. 2019 when I was 68.I only use it in smoothies, so if I am not drinking smoothies for awhile, I don’t always use it. But I have been using it CONSISTENTLY, as in pretty much everyday, for awhile now.PROS:ENERGY – THIS is the BIGGEST pro for me. From the first time I had spirulina in a smoothie, I was amazed. I didn’t expect to feel the boost of energy it gave me. And not like the kind from caffeine. Sustained energy.OTHER BENEFITS: Feel it makes my skin look better, I just FEEL better, I feel it helps with aches and pains and just makes me feel and be healthier.FLAVOR – OK, it’s not what you would call tasty on it’s own. I LIKE the taste IN MY SMOOTHIE, but not something like wheatgrass I could do shots of. BUT I mix in with choc PlantFusion protein powder, almond milk, wild blueberries and about a tsp of this and I am FINE with the taste.QUALITY – I haven’t found a better quality spirulina. My advice? RESEARCH yourself and see if you find something you think is more pure or better quality. Check where it comes from, what kind of checks are done on it and go with what you feel is best. After well over a decade, best I have found, but if you find something better, please comment and let me know!QUANTITY FOR PRICE – for the amount you get, the quality, I am HAPPY with the price. I just buy this for myself and just use about a teaspoon. I often get the smaller jar, just because, even though larger more cost effective, I like opening fresh product about every six weeks.
