Awesome! The only protein I will buy!
I read some reviews before buying this and I have to say Iâm glad I didnât listen to some of them. This protein is awesome. If you are looking for something sweet that tastes like a chocolate milkshake, this is not it. This protein has a more earthy taste and if you have to be careful with how much you add. With that being said, this product is awesome!! Itâs exactly what I was looking for and I really like it. I like the taste and I love that there is not a bunch of added sugars, fake sugars, or weird flavorings. Iâm so happy with it. Not to mention itâs incredibly nutritious.

Why all the 1 star reviews? This is made from peas, not milk! You’ll get use to it.
I just wanted to say that this pea protein is the next best thing to whey. Does it taste like whey? No. Will it have the creamy texture when it’s mixed will liquids, like juice, milk, or even water? Not quite. But you have to remember this stuff is made from peas, so the basic material is going to be fibrous. If you have never tried pea protein the first thing you notice is that it has kind of a gritty texture. I promise you this sensation goes away by the third container. You just have to stick with it. Once you get use to the change in texture, it’s really not objectionable at all. People complain about the smell, but I wonder what it is they were expecting. The smell doesn’t put you off at all. If you’re looking for an alternative to milk based products, a good pea protein is the best game in town. Look it up for yourself. The nutrition profile is very similar to whey. You get your BCAA’s along with 27 grams of protein per scoop, all of this without having to consume dairy byproducts. Go ahead and give this a try. Just be patient with getting use to the texture.

A great alternative to dairy-based protein powders
Whey protein isolate is still king in terms of the complete BCAA profile and fast absorption rate, but for those looking to start experimenting with the amount of dairy products in your diet, I would recommend this as a great starting point. I’m not sure if pea protein is considered to be a complete protein or not, but so far it’s the closest veggie-based protein I’ve had to the all-natural ON whey protein isolate I love so much. The taste (i had vanilla) is just fine and very comparable to vanilla whey, it mixes fairly well (way better than hemp protein, but still not as easily as whey even without all the instantizing additives), and you get about the same amount of protein per serving as whey (hemp is lower… and also just a horrible taste/texture in my opinion). The only downside to this pea protein is that it still never seems to mix in as smoothly as good ole whey. I’ve used it in a blender, with a hand-held battery-powered drink mixer, a milk frother, and just with a spoon, and no matter how thoroughly you mix it, there’s still a very fine grain/sandy texture to it. Much less so then hemp, but not as smooth as whey. It’s not really a big deal, and I’m already getting used to it.Give it a shot!

Packed with nutritious pea-ness!
If you love to drink yellow pea, this is the product for you! Joking aside, it took me a long time to find a non-flavored/unsweetened protein powder that was palatable. I’m not generally concerned with artificial sweeteners but prefer a protein powder with the minimum of extraneous ingredients.I tried hemp protein but it was waaay to gritty, so this was my next test. Yes, it has some pea flavor but it is mild and nutty and easily masked if its mixed with anything. The powder mixes easily and stays suspended well. From what I have read it’s also a borderline “complete protein” – it has all 9 essential amino acids but is relatively low in methionine+cysteine. I’m not worried about that because I am not fully vegetarian and get protein from other sources.

Company changed the product
Hello,I just received a shipment of the “new and improved”Olympian Labs pea protein in vanilla flavor, that I bought through Amazon.com. As soon as I opened the product and mixed for a drink I noticed a big difference from the protein I used to buy before.I am hugely disappointed in this new product. I have been using the pea protein for a year now, and I was happy I found a product that tastes good, agrees with me and it’s affordable.I realized that not only the packaging that has changed, but the taste and ingredients changed too. Not sweet enough, the measuring spoon is bigger( I assume, because all the silicon dioxide that was added to the protein) and the silicon dioxide makes it taste weird and leaves an unpleasant feeling in my mouth. Not to mention that I really have to be careful when pouring, because it gets all over the counter and the air. Silicon dioxide is not a good thing to breath in as everyone knows.I’m sorry that the product had to be changed, I will have to look for another protein powder, because I will have to return this item to Amazon.Sincerely,Erika S.

good value in protein, tastes terrible
I started out with flavored whey protein isolate (ON Gold). Excellent stuff ,but didnt want the added sweeteners and other artificial ingredients. Switched to unflavored whey protein isolate, (Carlisle brand and Nutricost), tastes pretty good, like instant milk, mixes well, (I mix only with water, not in smoothies, etc.). Was very happy with this type protein, but the price has jumped from less than $50.00 per 5 lb. to over $75,00! So I treid pea protein because the amino acid profile is similar to whey and much cheaper. But man, I can’t stand the taste. Like I said, I take my protein straight, mixed with water, and can’t take this stuff. After first try, went back to Amazon and ordered more expensive unflavored whey protein isolate.
