When viewing the Security Camera images on Echo Show (Alexa) cannot control camera movement
This review is for Onforu Dual Lens Security Camera Floodlight Outdoor, $99 on amazon.Before installing this security camera on an exterior wall or overhang I thought it wise to âplay with itâ in my basement workshop first. So I connected it to a two-prong 120 VAC plug to power it up. I then connected the camera to the main unit via the USB-C connector. I followed the instructions for pairing the camera to the Onforu App on my Android phone. No problem there. I then went onto my Alexa app and it eventually found the camera named âSecurity Cameraâ. So as paired with Alexa I tried it all out with my newly acquired Echo Show. Eventually I found that if I just said, âAlexa, show security cameraâ it replied âOKâ then showed split screen with the fixed lens and gimbal lens images atop each other. Images as displayed on the Echo Show are a bit small, i.e. they donât fill up the screen left-to-right. But the HD (high definition) images are very good.The only camera control I have when using my Echo Show is to turn my Echo Show microphone on or off. The microphone on the Onforu camera cannot be controlled via Echo Show. And, this is my big disappointment, I cannot articulate the gimbal lens. In the Onforu app I can set it to track motion, which it seems to do well, but can only manually control the left/right, up/down movement of the gimbal lens on the Onforu app and not on Alexa.The LED flood lights, left, middle and right only turn on when ambient light is such that the lights are needed for the camera and then, only if motion is detected.I plan to install this on the front exterior wall of my house. When I ordered this security camera my plan was to monitor my front door AND garage door entrance which are each 180 degrees apart. Since I will not be able to manually aim the gimbal lens I will just plan to aim the fixed lens at the garage and the gimbal lens at the front door.So Iâm giving this security Camera a 4 star rating (taking one star away for not being able to manually aim the gimbal lens when viewing Alexa Show.

As soon as I saw this I knew I had to have it! I have been talking about needing to get a new security camera as well as an outdoor light for our front yard space and this takes care of both problems all in one! This came very well packed and secured and everything was in great condition. Nothing was damaged from delivery. My husband was easily able to get this mounted and wired in. He is very familiar with doing different electrical jobs so it was very easy and straightforward for him. If you are unfamiliar you could always hire an electrician to do it for you. Once this is fully installed everything works perfectly as it should. The light is actually super bright and the image on the camera is actually super clear! The motion detection option works really well on this as well! I have not run into a single issue with this in both getting it set up and using it. I’m very impressed by how bright the light is and it’s super nice just to have the security camera with it as well! Definitely a great value for your money in quality alone. Definitely an awesome product and everything works perfectly as you would expect it to. Solid 10 out of 10 for sure

I own more than 6 different security camera brands. This is the one with floodlight, which saves some space.What I liked:⢠Decent video quality overall from both lenses.⢠LED lights are very bright, making the drive as bright as under daylight.⢠The camera is relatively responsive when opening the app and seeing the video.⢠The lower camera can change direction on the app to aim different angles, which is very useful.⢠Night video is very clear as well.Some caveats and missed opportunities:⢠LED lights have very limited control. No way to adjust sensitivity, thus no way to control how far the light will be triggered, how long it stays on after triggering etc.⢠Very limited angle adjustments for the upper lens.⢠Video capture sensitivity is not adjustable.⢠Motion sensitivity is not adjustable.⢠The user manual is not very intuitive, and it took me quite some time to pair with and activate the camera. The camera must use 2.4 GHz network. My deco mesh combined both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz as a single network. This camera failed to recognize it. In the end, I created a new dedicated 2.4GHz network for this camera, and it worked.

Not What I Was Looking For
Nowhere in the product description did I see that this unit needed to be hard wired. I thought it could just plug into an existing outlet for power, not require an electrician to install.As such, I wonât be using this. If youâre handy, maybe you wonât have issues installing this, but I donât plan on learning how to hot wire this into my home on the fly. Simple plug and play would have been a better choice.For the price, Iâm also disappointed a SD card isnât included.Price when reviewed: $99.99

I recently installed this flood light camera on my back porch and I really like its performance! The surveillance has the best HD resolution. It provides clear and detailed video quality during the day and even at night! I’m highly impressed at how great the night vision is. I like that the camera can spin 360°. The overall coverage is awesome. My husband was playing around with it and while doing so we noticed that it’s pretty smooth about following objects/movements smoothly no matter what it is.When triggered by movement, the floodlight pops on and it is incredibly bright. I am not able to protect my back yard. We live in a very rural area and we don’t have any street lights, so this works perfectly for me and my family. It gives me an added sense of security. The app is super easy to work with and so far I didn’t habr any issues with it. The two-way audio feature is another awesome feature because I can communicate with ny husband and kids while they play in the backyard simply through the app on my phone. This floodlight camera is a really great investment. Its versatile and its definitely something that I would highly recommend.
