Easy Setup and Great Results So Far
I needed something to set up my Christmas lights outside and pre lit tree and vintage blow molds inside on timers given that I am rarely home before 5 pm weekdays. Did a bit of research and bought two of these. Was a bit skeptical given some reviews. I found the download of app and set up and pairing of both devices with WiFi quite easy. Both working great so far. The app allows robust specifications for timing which is quite impressive. I am happy coming home each evening with my house lit up for the season!

Smart Plugins Are the Way To Go!
Last Christmas I had the old “dial” like timers for my Christmas lights. It would drive me crazy that half of the lights would come on for a period of time before the others finally came on. You can’t get an exact time with that type of timer. So last year we switched to this Outdoor Smart WiFi Plug controlled by an app on my phone. I absolutely love the ability to set a timer for both of my lights to come on and off at the same time. Also with an app you can set different times for different days which is helpful if you want your lights to remain on longer during the weekends but shut off sooner on weekdays. Or if you like your lights to come on in the morning but shut off when it gets light out and then on again at night. The timer works with different “smart” apps which is great if you are already using one. I use Smart Life to control all the smart plugins in my home, it was perfect that I could connect this with the same app so I can control all my lights from one app.I did have some trouble connecting it as I almost always d0 and had to use the manual mode vs the automatic pairing. It took me a couple of tries before I finally got it to connect so that was a little frustrating but I have found this same issue with almost any plug I purchase (maybe it is the app, not the plug).I ended up packing my outdoor timer away with my Christmas decorations last year so when I needed one for my Halloween decorations I went ahead and purchased the same timer from last year as I knew it would work great. I am able to have my blowup decoration come on at 5:30 and shut off at 11:00 pm all from my app. It has worked perfectly so far this year.Pros:**Easy scheduling from your phone**Can set up different times and days, very flexible**Weatherproof works great mine has gone through many rainy days**Works with different smart apps

We have a warmer for out cat house that were wanted to put on a timer as well as some out door lighting.These plugs allow you to set multiple on off sequences that you can control on your phone, Works great!

Plug will not turn off after timers are set â not even manually with the button.
It first appeared as if this plug would work. I set an ON time and an OFF time. It turned ON on time but would never turn OFF at the set time. Then I noticed that manually pressing the button didnât turn off my lights either. I had to then unplug it from the outlet to turn off my lights which is what I wanted to avoid doing and the reason I got this device anyway. A Wi-Fi plug that doesnât turn off â depending on the situation, couldnât that be dangerous?When I bought this, it was labeled as a frequently returned item. Iâve learned my lesson. My hope is that in the future, Amazon sets a return threshold for products where if a product is returned too many times, then itâs yanked off the store instead of just a warning thatâs easy to miss and really doesnât do much anyway. That kind of move would make me feel as if we are Amazonâs true customers instead of the product vendors.

A little hard to hook up but once you get it, it’s great
Okay, so it’s a pain in the ass to hook up .. I didn’t get it on the first day, but just figured it out now and it is a great unit, so I updated from one star to four stars. I’m pretty good with computers; somebody who doesn’t know anything about electronics, like my parents, would definitely never be able to hook it up, as it is not “plug and Play.” I’m over 60 so I predate having a computer through all of my school years, and even two decades beyond.. I was probably picking the wrong device in the app that looked like it had several plugs on it when I should have just been picking the one that showed a single plug even though mine is a triple plug. I did confirm by logging into the router that it broadcasts on both 2.4 and 5 gigahertz, and I think my phone automatically switched to accept the device although it had been doing 5 gigahertz, and it needs 2.4 to connect. it would be much easier if the directions included what picture you pick on the app for manually connecting as there were way too many choices, 49 to be exact …this is definitely a plug and not a switch. Now that it’s working I will not be returning it and it’s pretty awesome to be able to control three separate outlets; Christmas lights and heated cat pods in case we have a visitor other than the possum who always shows up around the same time as gold cat LOL I think they live in the same hollowed out tree. Plus being able to control with Alexa is very cool as well..

reliable timer
The HBN exterior plug worked fine for a few months then started blinking every time I turned it on. Re-starting, deleting and re-loading, etc. did not work. Initially I thought it was the timer’s fault, but I just figured out it was not the timer, but faulty wiring, so I am upgrading my review…

Works great with SmartLife app
Setup in less than a minute with SmartLife app. Works perfectly outside to control some accent lights. The plug has LED indicator light on which shows it’s status.

I used this to turn my Christmas lights on and off during Christmas, and it worked like magic! I didnât have to freeze going outside with my non-times Christmas lights. It had a timer set up, where it automatically turns on and off at specific times you set it, and was great for days when weâre not home. The smart plug has 3 plugs and can be controlled on individual or together. It can be connected to my Alexa app, but i didnât have to since it can do that on its own.The cord seems thick and durable, and seems durable even on heavy snow days. The shape tho was not the most stylish, but it does the job really well.Overall, Iâm very happy with this purchase.

I have no idea what people are complaining about these being difficult to set up or impossible to sync. It took me 5mins to set up 4 plugs and sync them set the timers. Just followed the instructions and it was so easy. All my lights now turn on and off at certain times on different days of the week. I absolutely love this product and I’m definitely buying more.
