I recently lost my retired service dog who was a 8 year old black German Shepherd. I adopted him when he was 2 years old and we were inseparable…he gave me my life back after I became disabled. Even once he was retired and could no longer do public access with me, he didn’t stop working, though it was in a different capacity. He took on the job of helping my new service dog get used to our household; he did wonders by showing her the ropes, and the best way she can help me. I can’t begin to explain the agony I feel over my best friend’s death.However, seeing this picture frame made me cry (which I suppose is nothing new, because it’s only been a month, and crying is all I can do nowadays!) because of how lovely it is. I don’t know how to explain it, but it just FITS, you know? The frame and everything itself came in perfect condition, which is good, since I saw a review about how someone’s came broken. I had no such problems, and love the rich brown color of the wood was unmarred…for now, anyway, since I have a cat who likes to knock stuff over. I think I was lucky, because my boy’s black leather collar fit just fine without cutting it — which is good, because I don’t think I could bare cutting it, even just for cosmetic reasons so it’d fit. It was a little snug, but that’ll help keep it in place/loosening it. It also had enough room that it shows his engraved name tags, which includes his service dog medical alert tag. I swear that he knew he was my advocate for when I was unable to speak, and because of that, he always wore that tag proudly. Now I have a gorgeous framed picture to go on the shelf with his old service dog gear, with this picture in full display. He really was one of a kind and this frame shows that.

just what i wanted
Keep in mind this is for a SMALL dog or cat. I had a 5 lb chihuahua and it was still a challenge to get his collar to fit inside. Had to do some creative taping in the back. Anything larger and the collar definitely wouldn’t fit.

Damaged
The product mostly looks good but arrived damaged. When I pulled it out of the packaging, the little bit of wood that helps lock the backing in, was broken and fell out of the bag. Maybe that bit should be reinforced? I’ve ordered a replacement because overall it will be a nice memorial for my dog that recently passed. Just inspect and make sure it is in good condition immediately

Wish it was a little bigger
Pros:•Great frame with personal touch•Insert works as needed – could be a little better•Portrait sized pictureCons:•Didn’t fit dogs collar so had to use smaller leash•Could be bigger to add paw print from final vet visit and collar to fit properly.Overall this is a really cute, I love the option of adding a collar, leash or tags that belonged to my Lola. Just wish it was a little better thought out to fit a larger medium sized collar. Definitely meant for smaller dog items.If you have a larger dog with a big leather collar this will not work for you. I had a standard sized dachshund and again the collar did not fit (to give this statement some more context – it was a very thick luxurious leather collar with thick hardware)

The frame is cute and the concept is lovely, but our dog was a Labrador, so the collar was much too big for the frame. We had to cut it to fit it in.

Malheureusement, j’ai acheté cet objet après le décès de ma chienne pour conserver une part d’elle, mais le collier étant assez gros, il ne peut pas entrer dans le cadre. Cela rend cet achat inutile pour son usage prévu.

Good quality. Only fits small collars.
