For maximum protection against squirrels and maximum comfort for your favorite birds, try the Perky-Pet Squirrel-Be-Gone Max Bird Feeder. This feeder includes our patented Flexports, which offer 5-in-1 benefits for birds and you. The unique design is 4X more shake resistant than standard ports so there’s less seed waste – which means money saved and fewer messes on the ground! The design also allows birds to feed at an optimal position outside of the port, offering better visibility so they feel safer and stick around longer. Each feeding station also features a ladder-style perch to accommodate a wide variety of bird sizes. To offer defense against squirrels, this feeder boasts multiple great features. First, this feeder’s weight-activated perch system is calibrated to support the weight of birds but not squirrels. When squirrels try to gain access to the perches, the ports close off under their weight. In addition, the new and improved Sure-Lock cap prevents squirrels from lifting the lid, while the metal frame discourages chewing around the ports. To ensure a 100% squirrel proof feeder, placement is key! Squirrels are clever acrobats, so it’s important to find the right hanging location. Hang the feeder with at least 18 inches of clearance on all sides so squirrels can’t easily reach the ports.
Keep Squirrels Out – The weight-activated Seed Shield closes ports when squirrels try to feed & the Sure-Lock cap prevents them from removing the lid
More Birdwatching Time – The patented Flexports allow for a more optimal feeding position outside the port, so birds feel safer and stay longer
Accommodate Many Birds – The four ladder-style perch pads are designed to fit both small and large birds, so none of your favorite species are left out
4x Less Seed Loss – Flexports are designed to be more resistant to weather and squirrel shaking, meaning money saved and fewer messes on the ground
Easy to Fill & Clean – The extra-wide, 6-inch opening allows for mess-free filling, while the removable, twist-off lid makes cleaning a breeze
Large Capacity – Holds up to 3 lb of mixed seed, black-oil sunflower seed, sunflower chips, or safflower seed

Squirrel proof – so far!
I have only had this for about 3 weeks. It’s still Fall so the squirrels have other options. Come the dead of Winter I’ll truly find out how effective this feeder is.The squirrels have tried a couple of times to get at this, but failed so far. Any kind of weight (more than that of a bird) on the feeding posts will essential ‘close’ the doors to the feeder. I have the 3lb feeder which so far only requires me to refill it every 4 days or so. I’m keeping it simple filling it with Black Oil Sunflower seeds. The birds are having Zero problem getting to the food. So far the squirrels are content to eat what falls to the ground.A good feeder, well built. Come the Winter and the squirrels start getting desperate we’ll find out just how durable this is. No regrets with the purchase.

Best Birdfeeder I’ve Owned
So far this is the best birdfeeder I’ve purchased (I bought 2 of these) and I’ve purchased about 4 different ones before this. They are easy to fill with the wider opening at the top; the top canopy keeps the seed dry; there is less seed waste/spillage with the way the feeding portals are designed. The design has also kept the squirrels out and they seem to have given up trying, although one will still try once in a while (must not have gotten the memo). I was concerned about the perches breaking off when squirrels jump on the feeders, but they have held up fine for me so far.

Keeps Squirrels away, Great Customer Service
We purchased this last summer after the squirrels wrecked havoc on our other feeder & this did NOT disappoint. Impossible for squirrels to get into, we had an abundance of beautiful birds. We did have a durability issue- one of the round rubber pieces the birds poke at completely broke, another partially broke, so putting bird feed in meant it pouring out those holes….Contacted customer service through their website on a whim & they were fantastic. They have a 1 year replacement warranty. Got a same day response, they requested a receipt & image of the damage, & in less than 1 week from reaching out I should have a new one at my doorstep. Hoping the new one lasts longer, would highly recommend knowing that even if it doesn’t, they value customer experience!

Birds are happy! Squirrels not so much! ð
I like many of you bird lovers fight a constant battle with the squirrels.Iâve even tried to negotiate with them by adding a peanut ring to appease them. Well, that worked great for the hour or so it took them to empty it. â¹ï¸ I have tried MANY âsquirrel proofâ feeders. The MOST expensive ones work great, BUT Iâd rather spend that $100.00 on bird feed. On a whim I saw this and decided to give it a try.Iâm am THRILLED ð with how well it works. Iâm getting quite a giggle watching the frustration levels of the squirrels get higher and higher as each time they react out for some yummy treat the doors close and all they can do is chatter in their anger ð¤¬!The only ones that can get anything out are the little red ones and those are so cute I donât mind. So, IF youâre looking for a reasonably priced bird feeder that befuddles the squirrels, BUY THIS NOW!!!

No replacement parts available from manufacturer. Poor quality on the parts that matter.
I bought this bird feeder just over a year ago. The plastic ports that keep the birdfood in the unit were eventually rendered useless as the birds continued to eat out of the unit. I thought i could buy replacement parts, so i contacted the manufacturer. the following is the actual response from them:”Thank you for reaching out to us. I’m sorry to hear this happened! Replacement flexports are not available. Your interest in them has been shared with our Product Managers. Please feel free to contact us with any questions, we’re happy to help.Sincerely,”None of this companies products are well thought through and only last just until the 1 year warranty is up. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. Even though it looks cool, it is a waste of your money.

Money in the bank!
Was using what I would call an open type feeder. The squirrels found it and evidently brought their next of kin. Before long there were at least three or four having a heyday on my nickel. I had seen ads on assorted âsquirrel proofâ feeders in an unbelievable price range. After reviewing what seemed to be a hundred, I chose this feeder. By the time I finally decided that 50 pounds of bird feed a week was outrageous in its own right, I rolled the dice on a squirrel proof feeder. I had read in one review of this feeder the recommendation to hang it at least 18â from any accessible post or other ways that could allow a squirrel access. I went a little over the suggestion and extended it out 27â. Filled it, easy task, hung it, also very easy, not too heavy for lifting overhead, and went and sat on the porch to see what would turn out to be a fun event. It was hung in the same place as the old feeder so it didnât take very long the birds came a pecking. Then here comes the parade of squirrels. Each time they would try to come over the top, slip and slide and fall to the ground. Soon, the squirrels threw in the towel and decided to quit trying. Now the feeder has been up about ten plus days and will usually last three to four days before refilling. My best guess on seed costs the new feeder will have paid for itself in about a month or less. The birds are happy, 4 out of our 5 birdhouses have families in them and the squirrels have become ground feeders for scrounging up the little bit of seed that hits the ground. Overall, the feeder is of adequate quality as the price dictates and if and when it wears out I definitely would consider buying it again. Feed savings, money in the bank!

Disappointed
While this feeder might keep squirrels away, it POURS out seed whenever birds are feeding. It will empty out in less than a day, and most of my seed winds up on the ground. Also, the coating over the wire wore out pretty quickly, and makes it difficult to raise the lid enough to refill. I have only had this 6 months, and as soon as my new feeder comes in this oneâs going in the trash.

Squirrels are able to get onto the feeder but they have not been rewarded with a big meal due to its design. I have had other spring-loaded feeders but the fact that it is smooth and round, not square, seems to be a key feature.
