Perfect Fit
It is a perfect fit. I wish DJI would acknowledge that while the previous cages fit the Action 5, they are not a perfect fit and screen protectors cause problems with the Action 4 and before cages.

My favorite cage for my Osmo Action 5 Pro
I’ve been using this Pgytech camera cage for my DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro, and I’m extremely impressed with its design and functionality. It’s clear that this cage was designed specifically for the Action 5 Pro, as it fits perfectly, providing full access to all ports and buttons without any obstruction. Many cages advertise themselves as being for the 3/4/5, but it’s obvious that this was designed with the 5 in mind. Â The cage is constructed from durable aluminum alloy, which makes it feel incredibly sturdy while remaining lightweight. This thing is a tank. If you watch the video review, I was so comfortable with this thing that I did a demo drop. No worries about the camera breaking. And I really appreciate the snap-on design, which makes installation and removal quick and easy. One of the best features is the flip-top battery window and side opening, which allows me to charge the camera via the Type-C port and swap batteries and memory cards without removing the cage. This is a huge time-saver and isn’t something that all cages allow. The cage also offers a lot of mounting options, including a magnetic quick-release connector, a 1/4″ threaded hole, and two cold shoe mounts. This added a ton of flexibility for attaching accessories like lights, microphones, and tripods. The ability to quickly switch between horizontal and vertical shooting is also a great bonus. Overall, this Pgytech cage is a fantastic accessory for the Osmo Action 5 Pro, adding both protection and versatility. I’d even go as far as saying this is a “must-have.” It’s seriously that good.

Excellent case that retains all of the camera functionality
First, I love that I could remove the battery without taking the camera out of the case. Itâs always been my gripe with the original Osmo case. Moreover, the magnetic clip is still accessible while also have the vertical mount option. However, for vertical mounting, you canât use the magnetic mount since it only has a 1/4″ screw mount. This makes it not very “easy transition” between the two mounting option as advertised. This is why I deducted one star. Otherwise, this case is great and I would recommend it despite the shortcoming.

Quality camera cage for DJI Action 5
PGYTECH isn’t exactly a ‘household name’ but they’re a well known brand among action cam enthusiasts. I’ve got a ton of their products for my GoPro and have been pleased to see them expanding their range to include cams by DJI and Insta360. This is a basic aluminum alloy camera cage for the excellent DJI Action 5 Pro. The design makes it easy to insert and remove the camera (this is not always the case) and it feels very durably made. It fits the Action 5 perfectly. It allows access to all ports as well as the battery and SD card slots without removing the cage. There’s a side magnetic interface for the quick release mount and a 1/4″ mounting hole that will work with just about any tripod/selfie stick on the planet. This means that it’s easy to switch from horizontal to vertical recording. Just a solid product at a reasonable price point. Recommended!

Super Rugged and Durable
This is one of the best cases for an action camera that Iâve seen in a really long time. It has a good bit of weight to it that makes it feel really rugged and durable. The build quality and design are excellent. Iâm using it with a DJI Action 4 and it fits perfectly. But I think my favorite part of this case is the record button. Itâs a red aluminum button thatâs really springy. It has a very professional feel to it. Sometimes the button on a case is hard to push, but this isnât like that at all. This one has such an excellent haptic feedback that it actually feels better than the cameraâs native record button. Overall, this is the most impressed Iâve been with a case in a while. Highly recommended.

Action 5 camera cage
Made of solid metal, has a pretty ingenious mechanism for opening and closing the door that lets you slide the camera in and out. Holds it very securely and includes a side clamp so you can mount the camera vertically easily.

I purchased this immediately after receiving my Osmo 5. The Osmo’s included plastic case was satisfactory, but I prefer a sturdy metal cage, similar to my previous Osmo’s. It’s easily attached to the magnetic connectors; battery replacement and USB charging don’t require removal. A convenient side latch opens it. My only suggestion, not a significant issue, is that for a future version, the side lock could be made more secure to prevent accidental opening and potential Osmo camera drops. Overall, it’s excellent.
