Mad I didnt do this sooner…
I have probably 50+ smart devices in my home and started the journey way back when they all first came out. After SO MANY other competitors and options I bit the bullet and went with this. They are MUCH more stable than anything I have used. Not a single disconnect or issue after several power losses to the home. They are bright, the color is spot on, and it works seamlessly with Alexa, Smartthings, and the app on the phone.I’ve replaced nearly every recessed light in my home and found the fit to be MUCH more snug (the spring-loaded options on other lights hang out of the hole slightly and just don’t look as good). The color range is much wider on these as well.They are absolutely more expensive than some other brands, but they are also worth the investment to make your life easier. Trust me. I cant recommend these enough!

These are CANNED light fixtures (and work great)
I see many of the low star reviews show people attempting to install these lights into sheetrock alone. Hue sells a separate recessed light for this purpose but these arenât them. These lights fit perfectly in a 6â can and sit perfectly flush to the ceiling. Set up was easy and the lighting quality is great. Highly recommend 5/5

Great lights
I started using Philips Hue lights years ago. From the original starter kit, I gradually augmented my setup to include light bulbs, canned lights, outdoor lights, light strips, sensors, remotes, and more. The hardware is high quality. The app improved a lot of the years. 100% recommend this product, either in its own right or as part of your existing smart home system. Only downside, it is pricy, so I get it piece by piece.

Four Words: Heck Yeah, Must Have
I’ve used the Hue light bulbs in all the lamps in my bedroom for years, but these recessed lights are a HUGE improvement to the overall feel. I’ve always hated overhead lighting, but I don’t mind these at all and I’m actively glad I bought them. Definitely looking for how to connect these to my TV asap for reactive lighting.The Good:Super easy install. Easy to setup. Low Profile, and look very good. Colors look great at any percentage of brightness of hue.The Bad:Not a huge deal, but the mounting arms on these are extremely difficult to get setup properly if you’ve already got the recessed cans installed. I would also really like to see Phillips Hue adopt the “hook” style of recessed mounting that’s more common with most other brands. Not a deal breaker, but a little bit annoying.

Fantastic
My builder wired up my home theatre by putting all the overhead lights on one circuit. ( it was supposed to be every two lights on their own switch). I did not want to try and rewire everything so I thought I would try these. I only wanted white but colored lights were on sale and cheaper. These work fantastic. Easy to install. I also purchased the hub unit. These paired up easily and it is very nice to be able to control the lights from my phone. The choice of preprogrammed lighting combinations are fascinating. These lights and hub are easy to update the software. I have never lost connection. You can easily program your own set ups.

Our neighbors have two 14″ solar tubes in their living room…and they look great! However, the recent 2″ hail storm we had here, damaged them both. That was enough to talk us out of installing them in our ‘dark’ living room. So, I opted for these and was not interested in colors..but simulated daylight. I also opted for the cans….as they were a lot less expensive and I like the permanent solution better. And if you look at drywall incorrectly, it gets everywhere. I also ordered a hub (half of what it was on here) and installed them both. The lights and the app work perfectly! I did not run a hard wired on/off switch. I ordered the remote switch from here, that works great. Without the hub, they work…thru bluetooth..but they are VERY limited. For the price of these bulbs, why pay for limited use? Get the hub, you wont’ regret. My entire reason for these lights was to simulate sunrise and sunset daylight in our living room. Now, with the app and HUB I can do this…and it works great!Are they worth the initial price? IDK…only time will tell. But all of my friends and reviews say they are…that they last a long time. So time will tell. As of right now, we are VERY happy with them and as long as you use the HUB along with them, I do recommend them!
