Engaging and Natural Silvervine Sticks for Cats â A Hit with My Fosters!
1. PROBLEM I WANTED TO SOLVEMy two foster cats, Fuzz and Baby Girl, have been a bit bored lately, and I was looking for something that could engage them while also supporting their dental health. With them being indoor cats, itâs important to find stimulating toys, and the Potaroma 3 Pack Natural Silvervine Sticks seemed like a perfect solution. Plus, Iâd heard great things about Silvervine being even more enticing than catnip, so I was curious if this would catch their attention and help keep their teeth clean.2. DID IT SOLVE THE PROBLEM?Yes, with mixed results! Fuzz immediately went for the Silvervine Sticks, batting them around and chewing them within seconds of the package being opened. He seems to love the texture and scent, which keeps him entertained for a solid amount of time. His usual bursts of energy were redirected into rolling around and playing with the sticks, which was a pleasant surprise. Baby Girl, on the other hand, wasnât as interested at first but eventually started licking and nibbling on the stick after a few days, which gave her a little extra mental stimulation. As for the dental benefits, I canât say Iâve noticed a significant difference just yet, but I imagine it helps by keeping their teeth busy and encouraging chewing.3. OTHER DETAILSThe pack comes with three sticks, each infused with Silvervine and Catmint, so thereâs a good variety of scents that seem to appeal differently to each cat. The sticks are durable, though Fuzz managed to wear one down pretty quickly with how hard he chews. The natural blend of Silvervine and Catnip is great for my cats who tend to get bored of the same old toys.I also appreciate that the sticks are all-natural and safe for them to chew onâknowing there are no harmful chemicals in these toys adds peace of mind. The packaging states that the blend and appearance may vary, and this was true for my package, but it didnât affect the experience for my cats.4. WOULD I BUY IT AGAIN?Absolutely! While Baby Girl took longer to warm up to the sticks, Fuzz has had a blast with them since day one. Itâs a simple, affordable way to keep them entertained, and I like that it doubles as something beneficial for their dental health. Iâd also recommend this product for households with multiple cats, as each catâs interest level may vary, and having three sticks allows them to share without fuss.5. ADDITIONAL INSIGHTSIf you have a picky cat like Baby Girl, you may need to introduce the sticks a few times or try rubbing a little catnip on them to spark interest. Fuzz, who is more easily entertained, took to them right away, so it may depend on your catâs personality. Iâd also suggest supervising during the first few uses to ensure your cat chews safely, as the sticks can get worn down over time.VERDICTFor the price and quality, these Silvervine Sticks are worth trying, especially if your cats are fans of catnip or need some extra stimulation. Iâll definitely be keeping these around for my foster kitties and rotating them with other toys to keep things fresh.

A cats delight!
I recently swapped to these as i previously used the silvervine sticks. These do not need to be sliced or chopped or grated. They do not shed or shred easily. I am so happy now as the sharp pieces from the other sticks always made me nervous. My boys love these and they are quite picky.

Not for every cat
I have 2 cats. One male cat who is 2…and he is not amused by this toy. Only if I personally play with it and even then he won’t pay too much attention to it. However my youngest one..she loves it..she is 7 months old and she loves to especially chew on it. She is on her second stick. Please please please watch while playing… Do not leave it out without watching them play. My little one likes to chew on it so much that the ball part of it is completely gone and she split into several different pieces. She’s at the moment in her life where she wants to chew everything..her teeth are growing in..so it’s a good toy to have. But monitor them while they’re playing. My older one is not amused lol so like I said.. not for every cat.

Cheap but cats get bored easily
Cats loved it for about 2 days, until the sticks just end up as another thing on the floor like everything else I give them to play with. It was fun to try, but you have to change the sticks out a lot or they get bored.

Amazing product!
My 6m old kitten really likes this item. From the moment I opened the box, he was drawn to it right away and plays with it for a good 15-20 mins. It improved the smell of his breath too lol.

My cats love this
I have two cats: one tuxedo and one tabby. My tuxedo teeth was getting a little bit of tartar because the half-chew her food hahaha. We give them wet food, dry food, and Churu to give them variety. But, no matter what I do: my tuxedo gets tartar. I brush her teeth once a week with a cat toothpaste and cat toothbrush gently. but of course she doesnât enjoy it. So , I decided to try this silvervine stick and OMG !!! She is the happiest cat in the world. It seems to be working because her teeth looks kind of shiny and clean. She plays with the stick all day and even sleep next to it. I canât believe this little thing can make her that happy. My tabby is a lazy boy so he just go to smell the stick and then go back to his naps.I highly recommend this !

These do the trick, but my cat prefers plain silvervine twigs
My cat is not very responsive to catnip, but silvervine does the trick! The first time I offered her some, it was almost instantly obvious that it was affecting her. She gets extremely silly and playful for about 15 minutes before it wears off. It will “work” again after half a day or so.I hadn’t heard of silvervine until recently, but it’s a species of kiwifruit, native to east Asia. It is pretty well known and silvervine products are widely distributed in pet stores there.I bought these as well as some plain, unadorned silvervine twigs. I thought the addition of the dried fruit would make it more potent, but as it turns out, the twigs seem to more consistently make my cat lose her mind. She does like the additional danglies on these. The dried fruit and twine present a minor safety hazard. The dried fruit easily breaks and comes free of the twine, into small chokeable pieces. The twine itself is also a problem — cats LOVE to eat string and get it tangled up in their guts and require a seven thousand dollar surgery. You will want to supervise your cat with these. Limiting exposure is also recommended so your cat doesn’t build up a tolerance and end up seeking out harder stuff. If you are wondering if silvervine in general does what it says on the tin and will make your cat go insane and do crimes, my experience suggests that it does. This product works for that, too; it just seems to be a little less potent than some of the plain, bare silvervine cuttings I have purchased.
