convenient and easy
The containers are a little bit hard to use (the chia seed struggles to fall out at a consistent rate) but I pour them out into easier to use containers. I opt to then fill these containers up with flour when I order that in bulk (in my case I have this super unwieldy bag of Teff that needs to be divided into smaller containers).This product will give your food some extra fluff in soups (right now I’m exclusively using it for my Tuna and Sweet Potato soup, but it’s fine in other soups as well) and it gives a very interesting texture to bread when you add it to dough. If you get the ratios of ingredients right, this in bread can feel like roasted marshmallows.

Maybe a bad batch.
Maybe a bad batch. This jar contained some small hard granules that made it unpleasant to eat. I used the ground chia after soaking and cooking with oatmeal for breakfast. The taste and consistency were good except for the few hard granules that crunched like sand between the teeth. The granules may have been ground up nut shells along with the ground chia seeds, since the label had a warning, “Caution: This product may be packaged in a facility using equipment that processes nuts/soy”.

Short weight and sand in product
I ordered the 3 lb. size and I receiver one kilo 2.2 lbs. Then I was disappointed to find gritty sand in each scoop, disgusting. Obviously poor quality control. Since chia cannot be washed and there was sand in it, ya wonder what else is in it. Maybe dung from the field? Yuck! The bummer is, it is not returnable either. Never again.

In date, but extremely bitter tasting and smells bad.
I eat a lot of chia seeds, but they get stuck in my teeth. I bought this product, but itâs disgusting. Extremely bitter and it smells like some sort of chemical. Apparently these are signs of rancidity or bacteria, even though the package says good through January 2024. Either way, itâs inedible. Donât waste your money.
