Good camera mount, high quality that lasts!
good mount for the GoPro but the screw that holds the case to the arm isn’t a thumbscrew, it requires a Philips screw driver and the size/length of the arm segments means this doesn’t fold up very small. While thet’s not a big problem most of the time, I sometimes have the camera mounted high on the windshield and want the camera to be mounted high too (keep it out of the sight lines), but it’s not possible with this arm to keep it folded up since that’s not how the arms are designed.Besides that, the suction cup and lock mechanisms are very good and hold the camera securely. Overall this is a well thought out, well designed and well built product. This isn’t a knock against the product but just a general piece of advice when using suction cups to secure items. Check your windshield where you think you may use the suction cup. If you have the shade dots (nearly flush paint dots on the inside to add some tinting, usually right around the edge of the glass), they don’t work well with suction cups. The camera may detach and fall. Be careful if you are at the track since you don’t want the distraction of a camera coming lose inside the car at the wrong time.update 7/9/19 – This mount is still going strong! To be fair I haven’t used it too much but the suction cup hasn’t dried out and it still holds as well as the day I got it. I not have it mounted on the side panel (fairing) of my sport bike (motorcycle), using a security cable to catch it just in case! I’m using it to record my ride in to work and it’s perfect, holding well and not bouncing around on the bumps. I still wish the screw was a standard GoPro thumb screw for the attachment point, but the GoPro screw is too big, so you pretty much have to keep a screw driver handy to adjust it. However, you don’t need to adjust it very often. Once you have it set you pretty much leave it alone. It doesn’t sag or flop around, it just stays where you put it, so if it lives with one vehicle at a time and stays in the same place, a thumbscrew is not needed.

    STRONG!
You get what you pay for! I bought one of theses years ago to mount my DJI AC4 to the deck of my kayak. The suction is strong enough to lift the kayak (18′) off the ground. So, I bought another one for the aft deck.I can not recommend this enough. Pay the extra money, it’s worth it.

    Superior mount in every aspect!
I am a huge fan of RAM mounts over any other mount. They are easy to use, strong, easy to adjust, yet easy to lock in place and have minimal vibration. This particular mount is great for the GoPro, especially compared to other GoPro mounts because of how the camera attaches to the ball which can rotate around. Other mounts require you to be able to have the arms swing a particular way to get the camera in the desired position. This allows the mount to be in tighter places, more out of the way, and still provide perfect angles. If I had another GoPro I would get another RAM mount without even thinking about it! I also use a RAM suction mount for an iPad in a high vibration environment and it works amazingly.Cons:Not cheap, but believe me, the product is totally worth it.

SOLID mount, but it needs 5 min worth of work first
This is my first RAM mount and I have to say, I’m very impressed! I was a little skeptical of the ball mounts at first, but once you get this in your hands, you’ll know that it’s solid. The ball mounts are rubber coated so they do not slip at all. The twist lock suction cup works VERY well too. I hear it works so well that some auto-body guys use the suction cup part to pull dents from cars. The only thing I really don’t like is the bolt they use to hold the gopro in the mount. It’s not the standard thumbscrew. I got around that by buying a bunch of m5 acorn nuts and super glued it in place. Now it works with the standard thumbscrews. Again, just a small inconvenience until you fix it like I did, but not enough to dock a star.

    Bad manufacturer
Was given mismatched screen to attach the two pieces of the mount had to create my own threading to put it together. Didnt even have sharp ended screws like other reviewers they were flat ended. For $50 this is garbage quality control and shouldnt even be listed.

    It’s got BALL JOINTS!
I started mounting my GoPro in car to do some food review videos for YouTube. Well, I started with the GoPro brand mounts and still love their suction cup mount system, but the lack of ability o twist the camera makes things difficult. This RAM mount allows you to twist the camera and put it in any position. It’s very sturdy and stays on the windshield well. Overall, my only complaint is the joint to attach the camera to the arm, it’s not the pictured GoPro style hand lock off but rather, a screw. This is only an issue if you need to take the camera off the arm, so if so…carry a compact screwdriver around.
