A good option to bring new life to an older laptop
Lets be honest, there are a lot of imported batteries for Macbooks; a dime a dozen as they say. One of the things I’m concerned about when trying a non OEM battery is if it will work properly AND if the computer will recognize it or start throwing errors about it. (I guess I should add in here, that I’ve been in IT for the better part of 20+ years, so… I’m not exactly new to this). The kit comes with the correct drivers (to remove the screws), and a really good keyboard protector. They used to sell these types of keyboard protectors back in 2006 for Macbooks, but I haven’t seen them in a rather long time. They work great at keeping dust and stuff from getting under the keys, and into the laptop itself. So it’s a nice “upgrade”, and a welcome item to get with the battery. You also get replacement screws and pads for the bottom of the Macbook, also a very welcome add-on to the kit.The battery itself is easy to install; yes it’s more complex than simply sliding a button and the old battery comes out… but it’s honestly not that much additional labor intensive wise; especially considering that it comes with the correct tools. They include in the kit a small user manual, that has photos showing where the screws are for the specific battery models. I didn’t need to look at it, but for the less technically include, it’s a nice thing to have. I also compared the specs on the new battery from this kit with the old battery, they match up.So far, the battery has taken a charge, no issues. MacOS sees the battery, and isn’t complaining about it. So that is a plus, and it seems to hold a charge pretty well. Macbook Airs have smaller batteries to begin with, however from my experience so far, it’s working as I’d expect a new battery to work.In summary, I’d buy this kit again, and I’ll be sharing this kit with others in my field as a viable option for older MacBooks. OEM is always best, but when OEM batteries aren’t being made any longer, you have to find aftermarket parts… or fall into the cycle of planned obsolescence for something that still has a number of years of use left in it.It’s also worth noting: find out if your local office supply store, or home improvement store has a battery recycling program. If they do, please make sure to properly recycle/dispose of your old Lithium Polymer battery. They really need to be handled properly considering the chemical composition of the cells.

SUPER EASY TO INSTALL!
This is going to be an easy review. After getting a pop-up message about a week ago saying that my laptop battery was severely degraded and should be replaced I contacted Apple support via telephone on Saturday morning. The Apple support representative confirmed that Apple could change my battery for $129 in the Apple store. The representative asked me if Iâd like to set up an appointment. I said yes letâs do it. There happened to be an appointment available later that afternoon at an Apple store which was about a 1 hour drive away. After arriving at the Apple Store, on time for my appointment, an Apple representative spent 25 minutes running diagnostics on my laptop only to tell me what I already knew, that my laptop was in pristine condition other than a degraded battery. He confirm that the batteries were $129 installed but said he would have to check to see if there was any in stock. After waiting another 10 minutes he came out and said he didnât have any batteries and he would have to order it. I explain to the Apple representative how disappointed I was that I drove an hour under the impression that I could get my laptop fixed. So the representative asked if Iâd like him to call other stores. I said sure and gave him two other stores to call and check for me. The representative went in the back room, came out about 10 minutes later and said that the first door did not have any and would have to order it as well. I asked him about the second store and he said he hadnât checked. You can probably imagine my frustration at this point. I asked him to go check the next-store. After making me wait again he came out and said the second store didnât have any either. The Apple representative then asked me if he could set me up for an install appointment and he would order the battery. I asked him how long it would take to get the battery. He said it could be two days, two weeks or two months. I couldnât believe what I was hearing. I told him no thanks and I left the store. I decided at that point to search Amazon for the MacBook battery and found this one to my surprise. I added the battery to my Amazon shopping cart, and made the 1 hour drive back home. I didnât immediately purchase the battery because I wanted to read some reviews first. So this morning I got up read a couple reviews, watched a couple of the videos, and was convinced that this was a project I was willing to conquer. I went to my Amazon shopping cart and click the âbuy nowâ button. The message said if I purchased within the next 17 minutes I would get same-day Amazon locker delivery. Of course I purchased. I got a text message mid afternoon on Sunday that the battery had arrived. I went to go pick it up from the Amazon locker. It was well packed. I open the box. Everything was there. It came with two magnetic screwdrivers. Extra screws. New rubber feet for the bottom of the laptop if I needed them. And a clear vinyl keyboard protector which was a nice added gift even though I donât need it. Everything seemed straight forward. I completely power down the laptop. Flipped it over and started taking out the screws. I carefully set them on the provided sponge pad, in the same pattern that they came out of the laptop so I wouldnât mix up screws. Surprisingly the back cover came off pretty easily with no extra effort or prying once the screws were out. The battery also came out with little effort once the screws were out. I had light traces of dust around the vent of the laptop case which I cleaned out with a can of compressed air before putting the laptop back together. From start to finish it took me less than 10 minutes. This took into account that it was my first time, I was being extra careful, and I took time to clean the inside of the laptop. When I got everything back together. I flipped it over powered it up and went into the system information app and clicked on âpowerâ. It showed that the battery came 71% charged, was operating normally, and had more amp hour capacity than the OEM battery. This was an extremely easy install. Once I run the laptop on the battery for a few days I will update this review with information about the battery life in general performance of the battery. As for the price and the easy install, I definitely give it 5 out of 5 stars.

Functional
So far so good. I followed the directions for conditioning the battery. Easy to install, nice touch including the tools and screws and accessories. Seems to work OK. it might not hold a charge as long as the OEM battery. I charged it to 100% and it took about 4 hours to fully discharge. In fairness, I’m still conditioning the battery as per the directions by fully discharging and then fully charging for at least 3 cycles. I’ll adjust my rating when I’m fully done. For less than 1/4 the cost of the real thing, I’m satisfied…

My Mom’s old 2017 Macbook Air battery was throwing up errors and would randomly shut down, so I looked for a drop in battery replacement. This bundle comes with everything you need. Battery, 2 different screw drivers, basic instructions, spare screws, and a set of keycap covers. Not bad for a $60ish.Installation was a breeze, no issues there. Ran a run time test, with youtube and a flash game all day, no screen saver or battery saver active. Medium screen brightness. It kept going from 8:30am – 4:20pm with around 5% battery remaining. So basically just as good as a fresh battery from Apple.Coconut battery confirms the unit was a bit higher than expected, coming in at just over 8100Mah for a 7200Mah spec battery. The battery was old stock (says manufactured in 2015) but doesn’t seem to have any issues. Will update on longevity if any issues arise, but so far quite happy!

Came with good instructions, good tools, new set of screws and a set of rubber feet. And a keyboard cover that I did not need, but the rest was welcome. The battery had a good initial charge. It perporms well, how that will be in a couple of months we’ll have to see. But first impressions are all very good!

Consiglio assolutamente!
