Excellent Way To Mount A Downrigger
Great product and when I talked to my local shop they told me to spray some high density foam (Great Stuff spray foam) or install a shim board around the sides pole holder to give it lateral support. That way you can run your downrigger off the side and it won’t stress your pole holder mount screws. It was a great cheap idea and has worked flawlessly all salmon season!

Fits my scotty strong arm 1085 perfectly!! Says it fits all scotty downriggers. Its a very solid base and is extremely easy to set up. Bolts on in no time. Just BEWARE…This is a 30 degree angled mount. It will not work in a straight pole holder. I made that mistake and had to install a 30 degree pole holder in the boat.

Cheap quality. Decent product but not great
Iâve purchased similar plate from Cannon and for exact the same price. What a difference in quality! This product uses thin metal that will last, but not a lifetime. Plate itself is made out thermal formed plastic which should last a long time and should be durable. I had to drill few holes and was also surprised about thickness and lack of thereof.I may be little too harsh because I am comparing to more premium products, but as Iâm comparing to similar part and with exact the same price, I think it is reasonable to rate three stars, given overall value.

You will still need the 1036 mounting plate as an adapter.The gimbal should have the holes to directly mount to the swivel base.
