Super Convenient!
So far, I’ve traveled to to Europe, Dubai, Japan and some countries in Africa, where it worked very well without any issues. It is easy to set up and get a plan. Keep in mind, that the plans are somewhat expensive but very reliable.I did notice that it does not work in some countries that only allow internet through their own company, whereas the Solis Lite 4G LTE (or any other WiFi company) cannot/is not allowed to connect to any tower (while I was in Djibouti). It is not a fault of SIMO.Overall, it is the convenience of knowing you will have global WiFi in most countries. I highly recommend this Solis International WiFi for folks on the move!

Very compact and easy to use!
I was hesitant to buy this because of the price an abundance of hotspot devices out there, but I’m so glad I ended up purchasing it! I’ve used it in my van, and I’ve been amazed at how well it works. It’s very easy to set up and get connected to the internet, and I love how it scans all available signals instead of being locked into one carrier. I was in a small town in Texas and was able to get enough signal to be on multiple video meetings without any delays or stuttering. What really sold me on the Simo Solis was the ability to buy data that’s not tied to any timeframe. I don’t travel full-time and didn’t want to be stuck paying monthly for a plan that I didn’t use enough. I highly recommend this for anyone looking for a hotspot and have already recommended it to friends and family!

Great portable, temporary internet solution
So, I moved recently and the place I’m at has terrible internet. I suppose I could always ask for something better, but since this is a temporary arrangement, I bought this thing to at least get me access for YouTube and Reddit purposes. To that end, this guy is great when it works. When it doesn’t work, it’s awful and you will want a proper hotspot from a mobile company.Start with the positives: you can buy 100 GB of high speed data in the USA for like $90-$100 a month, which is pretty good. That’s the “unlimited” plan. I am one person, and though I am a gamer, I game somewhere else, so this works fine for me. I am almost up to my renewal of my plan and still have 50GB left. Again, not bad. This is also really easy to set up and use. You control this little thing through your phone. You can also connect to other cell towers through your phone signal scanning for another network for this little device to latch onto. Some towers are better than others, which brings me to…First negative: this thing will want to connect to a cruddy AT&T tower rather than the better towers in the area. You’ll need to reset it at least once every night and if you power it off/on, you’ll need to reset it then too as well. Resetting can take a little bit. Sometimes, when it resets, this device pops up with a “NO INTERNET, action needed” popup and requires you to relog from your browser/phone into the app or website to get access again. The connection is fine for watching videos and playing music or just browsing, but it fails massively on video calls. This thing is choppy AF on video calls. Now, it could be that because I live on the prairie, this thing just has no idea what I want it to do and is crying because it’s not a wired connection. That’s fair. This is a temporary fix, not a permanent one. If you’re in a city, you’ll probably be a-okay. I am not in a city, so it’s less good for me.NEXT, the battery life is about a day or so. It is a pretty good battery life and it’s portable. You charge with USB-C (that’s a plus). However, the firmware on this thing is… bad. Reportedly, if you leave this thing on battery power for at least 30 minutes, it will update the device’s firmware, but that has not happened for me. You know how Windows Update is determined to make you fix it up with an update? Yeah, this thing has none of that “you WILL update” written into its code, so idk how secure it is.The color is nice and bright, so I know where it’s at and I expect that would be great for traveling to make sure you don’t leave it behind. You also don’t need a SIM, so positives there. But, as I stated, it’s… not good as a whole. It’s temporary and while you can probably watch shows on this, you can’t do video calls or any streaming yourself. It’s a very basic Becky type of device, which is not bad, but don’t expect to be doing any AAA gaming on this thing. I haven’t used it traveling, but it should be great for hotels with the worst wifi in the world (looking at you, midtown Manhattan).

It is functional for the person who travels abroad and needs wi-fi
I travelled to Dubai and to Sri Lanka. I could have used a travel plan with my cell phone carrier but the cost was high as my family uses quite a lot of data. Enter the Solis Lite. This is the 4G LTE version for just over $100. It works with an app installed on my iPhone that allows you to buy more data as needed. Beware, plans can be pricey but I would receive notifications regarding sales so bargains can be found. You get 1gb of free data every month. The 5G version of this device currently does not work with the app but it was also significantly more pricey so I settled on the little orange cheaper âhockey puck.â It has a password etched on the device and so you can have up to 8 users privately log online at one time. It is fast enough but connection speed depends on the country and the cell network. I had no trouble in the Dubai but the connections were a little spotty in remote regions of Sri Lanka. It takes a minute or two when the device is turned on but if you trying to connect in a moving vehicle, it can take longer to find a cell tower. Internet speed is slow but generally adequate. I wouldnât stream a movie on this. Data plans can get expensive ($70 for one time purchase of international data totaling 10 gb). The deals pop up from time to time but require a subscription. No contracts so cancel anytime. I canât justify he high cost so I returned mine. It is likely more economical to just buy an eSIM card when visiting other countries and use you phone as a hotspot. This is probably best suited to the business traveler who relies on a laptop for work.

Works great!
Works great! Small and compact. the price per day is very reasonable and they do not have to be continuous days. Reliable connectivity. I have used it while traveling through USA National Forests and internationally. We have streamed up to 3 devices – I have friends who say they have streamed up to 5 with no issues. We have used it in 3rd world countries, island countries, and abroad without issue. We have not tried it on a cruise but I don’t think it will work: It should not work as it needs a local carrier to connect to and local ISP carrier connectivity is not available while floating at sea. It did not work in Morocco – I was told it was because of carrier agreements – so check the countries you anticipate visiting.

After purchasing the Solis, Iâve already recommended it to so many people. This changed the way I do things and I always have that comfort knowing that I have a wifi anywhere I go. This is a solid Product and works so well. Iâve had no issues with dropouts or anything so far and I even brought it on vacation to Mexico. Application works perfectly and process is smooth. The best part is the unlimited wifi and data usage for 24 hours feature! Definitely a must have for anyone.-Alex Lebreton

We are staying on a remote bay on the island of Hvar for the winter. The cellular signal is almost nonexistent here. Yet, this small device allows us to stream movies etc without problems. I am definitely happy with it.If I had it to do over I wouldnât buy a data card from Amazon. It is way way cheaper to buy data through the App.
