We tried 5 bowls and this one won
We got a new kitty and he definitely had food insecurity from his foster home. He was FERAL with food and would eat so fast he’d get sick and try to keep eating. We tried 5 bowls of a bunch of varying types to get him to slow down and he figured out how to brute force all of them.This is the winner, its gotten him to slow down the most.Five months later and we still have it and now he eats like a normal kitty!It washes pretty easily (dishwasher is an option but we dont like putting plastics in dishwasher so we handwash). And the height is perfect for the average cat – not too tall when he was still young, and perfect now that hes fully grown.We have tile floors, and its also survived quite a few drops (both because clumsy and because cats are tripping hazards), and some tossing around from some playful and wrestling cats (we have 3 boys and ones a Maine coon lol). So you know it’s SOLID.

Slows down the gobbler!
I was looking for an elevated slow feeder cat dish to slow down my gobbler. Santina, my deceptively sweet kitty on the left maintains a suitable 7 lbs and eats daintily, with an appropriate pace for her stomach. Paloma, on the right, is a notorious food hound. Keeping her from ballooning into twice the delightful cat that she already is has been my objective. She also tends to vomit if she eats too fast. I found a couple silicone slow eating bowls (cute! Shaped like fish! Easy to clean! But I had to elevate them on overturned water bowls!) and they seemed to help. It Paloma learned to shove her face into the silicone ânubsâ that lined the bottom of the bowl, and then forcefully rake her jaw along the nubs, wolfing down the food. Ugh. I read all the reviews in these bowls after a long search for a slow feeder that was elevated and easy to clean. Some reviews complained that their cats couldnât get to all the food. To that I say, their cats are possibly not as food motivated or obsessed as Paloma. These bowls are for the truly food obsessed cat. They slow them doooooooown. The melamine is durable and easy to clean. I like the depth and overall size of the dish. Itâs a winðð»ðð»ðð¼I would buy these again!

These bowls are easy to clean, easy to set up and help my cat from eating too fast. I like the white color. They are sturdy, and hold just the right amount of food. I’m impressed!

Loved that this bowl makes our cats slow down while eating, they were making themselves sick eating so fast and racing to each others bowls to finish the others food. However, they were not happy with the new bowls at first, after about a week they mastered the grooves and now eat slower.

More like messy feeder haha! My cat hates it he makes a mess after every eat. I liked the looks of it thatâs why I got it. I ended up turning it upside down and it works better as it holds more food. Less mess tooâ¦. I thought it was made out of ceramic but itâs plastic. I donât mind that because you donât have to be so careful when washing. Overall quality is good and it looks cute my cat is just picky.

This is an amazing bowl, it comes in two pieces, the main bowl and the stand. In order to assemble these you just align the notches and twist and the stand will become firmly attached to the main bowl. This is really cute, it’s shaped like a kitty face and has the striations on the inside that look like whiskers to slow down your pets fast eating. Because this bowl is made of melamine it is not only dishwasher safe and shatterproof but it is also scratch resistant and tougher than ceramic or porcelain. Being made of melamine is a good thing for us as our cats like to paw at the dishes and May knock them over or scratch them if they are made of something less durable. This bull is at the perfect height for a standard cat to eat without having to crank her or his neck down too far and get digestive issues. Slowing down your pets eating to a steady Pace can help prevent overeating, vomiting and other digestive issues. This is an excellent idea, affordable and durable.
