Good for what it is
Although this camera is good for what it is, I ended up not using it.Setup and mounting was easy. The app is decent enough and the process of mounting it was relatively hassle free. It’s important to find a spot that has direct sunlight so that the batteries stay charged. The camera resolution is fine – 2K works well enough for a security camera. If you’re guarding something valuable such as your own Maltese Falcon or a pile of gold bars you’d want something with higher resolution and hard wired so wifi interference wouldn’t affect your camera feed.My original goal was to integrate this into my existing NVR system, however since the camera only goes online to report detections and share video clips it doesn’t work for me. This is entirely on me for not thinking it through well enough and not a reflection on the camera itself. If you just want to see when motion is detected and watch through an app on your phone this would be perfect.

Works great even when not in direct sun!
We had been looking for a wireless solar security camera for our house because we didnât want the expense of hiring an electrician to run power to a camera. We saw this unit and decided to give it a try. What a pleasant surprise! The front of our house is north-facing so it doesnât get a ton of direct sunlight. Also, we live in New England when sunshine is scarce and the days are short in the late fall through early spring. Despite all of that, this camera has worked perfectly since the day we installed it. Even while we were on vacation and it was raining/snowing back home, we were getting notifications and videos of deliveries arriving on our front porch. The video quality is excellent and you can even communicate through the camera. One BIG bonus for us is that there is no subscription fee or service contract with this camera. Once you install itâitâs yours with zero monthly fees. Great little device. We will definitely order more for the other corners of our house.
