Compare Sunco to the HALO 3000K LED. Sunco is nice light. Good quality at a fair price.
I needed to replace 10 halogen lamps in a vaulted ceiling with LED lamps. Although the ceiling was vaulted recessed light housings were for flat ceilings, but the LED retrofit lamps could not be focused properly. So we opted to install gimbal LED retrofits and adjust the lamps to focus on the floors and wash walls.The Commercial Electric LED gimbals had a beautiful light, but there was a painful glint from certain angles, so those went back. We tried just (1) HALO LED 3000K gimball, and we absolutely loved the fit, quality and color of the finish, ease of movement, and light color… but at $40 each they were just too pricey.So we did a quick search on Amazon and found these Sunco gimbal lights. We thought the light color of the Sunco lights was nice, in fact, very similar to the HALO 3000K. The gimball eye was very easy to move and in every case we were able to rotate the lights to light wash the correct areas of each room.If I were replacing many recessed lights but on a tight budget, I’d definitely buy the Sunco lights. However, where there are fewer fixtures of a more generous budget, I’d opt for the HALO 3000K LED gimballs.Our project budget was super tight, so we ended up installing 10 Sunco LED gimballs. But we had a few issues very minor issues with the Sunco retrofits that we haven’t had with the HALOs.1. EVERY lamp arrived with minor scuffing on the front face of the fixture, but we decided we wouldn’t be able to see the scuffs on a vaulted,12-foot ceiling.2. The paint color is actually a warm or yellow white… and we had just painted the ceilings dead flat Swiss Coffee, which is very white, think appliance white. So when these lights aren’t turned on and it’s really bright in the room and you look at the lights, you notice the light housing is a warm white. But, again, we decided that would be OK for this project. And we only mention it because the HALO LEDs were finished in a true white – almost grayish white. If this is a big deal to you, maybe buy one just to sample the color your room(s).3. The spring hangers are very stiff and were hard for us to install. One of the spring hangers on one of the retrofits was just a little off when we opened the box – and when we pinched the springs together to install the lamp the spring twisted so badly we ended up having to return the retrofit. Though the return process was super easy – was a bummer to have to return to the house again just to hang a light.HTH. Good luck with your project.

I bought this for my bathroom because the existing can is in a lousy position and shone straight down, making it neither useful nor flattering. Rather than move the location of the entire fixture I thought I’d try this first, and it’s perfect! The gimbal feature of this bulb allows me to redirect the light towards the mirror so I can actually see! It arrived in perfect condition, was easy to install, and looks beautiful- much cleaner and more modern looking than the old trim and exposed bulb. It’s “instant-on”, in fact even faster than the adjacent led flood bulb, and no hum or flicker. The 3000k provides great color accuracy for doing makeup- crisp, neutral white light, without being too blue or harsh; and the 800 lumens is plenty bright for detail oriented tasks. I don’t know that I’d choose this wattage/temperature for other living spaces without also employing a dimmer because it’s quite intense, but for a functional space like a bathroom, laundry room, kitchen, etc, it’s great. It may sound silly, but this has made such a difference in the ease of my daily routine that I’m looking into swapping out all my lights.

Easy install with retrofit, adjustable beam, great value
This light is an easy replacement for the old can lights or worn out led’s. The light has a retrofit, so all you have to do is remove your old light, screw this light into the light bulb socket of the old system, then push the light back up into the ceiling can mount. Very easy to do, just remember to cut power to the light before you start working on it. The adjustable gimble light works great to highlight my fireplace mantle.
