Purchased for 2 y.o. She loves it and can use it with ease. She calls it her iPad. The tablet can withstand her dropping it.

I tested the top 10 tablets for 2025. This VNEIMQN brand is one of the biggest brands of generic tablets on Amazon, and I tested several of them – they all performed great. You cannot compare them to name brands like iPad, Samsung, or even the Fire tablets. But it’s a perfectly valid tablet, fairly durable, you’ll be browsing social media and watching Netflix within 2 minutes of unboxing.HOWEVER, you can get an almost identical tablet for half as much.There are several brands of kids 10 inch tablets, 4GB RAM with 64GB memory, for around $59. The challenge is, these tablet models disappear, upgrade, or change brand names about every 6 months. So when I make a recommendation, it may be gone the next day. So I’ll do both – I’ll make some recommendations, but also tell you what to look.Currently, one of my favorites is MrCool PCAT11K, for $59. The specs are nearly identical to the VNEIMQN, with two differences. First, the MrCool has the older wi-fi b (the VNEIMQN has the newer wi-fi 6). Also the display is 720p (the VNEIMQN is 1080p).Three other brands that are very similar, and also under $60, are EDDBNi, Aheadthink, and Pritom.And there are several brands that offer pretty much identical specs – including the newer wi-fi and the higher resolution display – but are under $100. For that, check out brands ITDULCET and JREN.Having said that, after testing the top 10 brands, here’s what I found:Almost all of them have the same CPU – a quad-core chip by Allwinner, a big Chinese manufacturer for generic brands.Almost all of them have the same display, with 10-point multi-touch.Almost all of them have the same kids games pre-loaded (it’s called iWawa).Almost all of them are going to have a little lag from time to time, but not bad.Almost all of them have only one sensor – an accelerometer.All of them can handle Netflix, Disney, light to moderate gaming, and even adult tasks like email, Google Docs, etc.And, unfortunately, all of them have the same flaw – poor soldering and cheap copper wiring at the power jack, which is going to compromise the lifespan. I have been testing these tablets for many years – yes occasionally one is dropped and the screen will crack. But that’s not how most of them die (they don’t actually die, they just stop charging). I do have a VNEIMQN that is 3 years old and still going strong. But also, a high percent of them will stop charging after 6-12 months. So it’s hit or miss, and make sure to be careful with the charging port.Having said that, if you’re shopping around, here are the things to pay attention to:Wi-fi – the newer 6.0 is best. (This VNEIMQN uses wi-fi 6.0.)Speakers – some mount the speakers in the rear, making them muffled. I prefer front-facing speakers. (This VNEIMQN has rear facing speakers, not ideal, but at least they’re not covered. They are loud enough.)Android Go – I personally don’t like it, it’s an abbreviated version of Android. But upgrading it to full Android is free and fairly simple. (This VNEIMQN uses a full version of Android, but is using version 13 which is a slightly older. Not a huge deal.)RAM – Don’t settle for 3GB of RAM, get at least 4GB. (This VNEIMQN has 4GB.)Battery – many of them don’t disclose the capacity of the battery, but 6,000mAh is the top range. (This VNEIMQN has a 6,000mAh battery.)So I don’t have any specific complaints about the VNEIMQN, and it has almost everything I look for in a kids tablet. But I predict it’s going to have the same charging port problem as every other tablet. Therefore I think it’s too expensive for something that may only last a year or so.

Good tablet
We got this tablet for one of our kids and they love it. It’s easy for my three-year-old to navigate. It was easy to set up with the android software and you’re able to do parental settings as well. Definitely a good option for younger kids.
