Update: Now in my 3rd week with the product and battery life is at 48% on one tracker and 55% on the other tracker with just the initial charge. My dog Tank has “ESCAPED” 3 times since then and I’ve been able to recover him within 10 minutes each time, except for once when it took me 30 minutes to find him because he kept moving and I kept driving past him, but I had him tracked the whole time. It can be kind of difficult to track them when they are on the move, but I use the tracker of the first dog who is with me, to guide me to the second dog on the run. Works pretty good. Thus far I’m pleased as punch with this product. I used to have to wait for him to come back, have a neighbor bring him back, or get him at the dog pound. So, the peace of mind alone is worth the price!Short Story: My units arrived on one day, my dog Tank ran away the next day, and the notification alarmed me the he was out of the safety zone within minutes, I brought up the search grid and found him two neighborhoods over and recovered his bad ass within 10 minutes of his great escape! Bravo Zulu tractive it proved its value within 24 hours of its purchase!Long Story: Both of my dogs showed up on my door step, Brutus (Belgian Malinois) 5 years ago and Tank (American Pitt Bull) 5 months ago, and in both cases I tried to find the owners but never could. So, my dogs are wanderers, runaways and accomplished escape artists from day one. They will get out on the lamb at any time because escaping is in their nature. Twice Brutus has disappeared over night in the forest behind the high school which is full of hungry coyotes where I sat in my car all night worried and crying with no idea of where he could possibly be, only to have him show up in the morning 9 hours later, tail wagging like he had done nothing wrong. Tank has run away now four times in the past month and a few days ago and I had to go on Ring.com to find him in a cage in the neighbor’s house. Somehow he had miraculously lost his name tag so the neighbors had no idea who he belonged to and were planning to KEEP HIM had I not found him on Ring.com. A few months ago he was gone for two weeks only to show up at the dog pound with whooping cough sick “as a dog!” After the Ring.com incident I decided I had to do something so I bought the tractive dog collars for both of them on Black Friday to make use of the sale. I couldn’t afford the premium service for both dogs plus the collars because that would have cost $406.00 that I didn’t have at the time. I was concerned that the basic service wouldn’t be adequate but when I thought about it I didn’t really need world wide coverage, free replacement, dog tracking history, and the other bells and whistles. What I needed was to find these bad ass dogs when they pulled their disappearing acts, fast, efficiently, and precisely. They are way too big and intimidating to be running around on the loose and the coyote problem around here put them in constant danger the entire time they are out there. So, I chose the monthly option on the basic plan. I would suggest the company offer a monthly subscription on the premium plans as well, if they had, I would have definitely bought the premium plan. As I said above these trackers proved their value within the first 24 hours of my purchase as I successfully found tank so quickly that I was totally impressed. The virtual fence let me know when tank fled and it allowed me to track him in real time. It doesn’t get any better than that.I’ve heard a lot about problems with battery life and that will be a problem if you are away from the safety zone (Home) that you setup with the virtual fence. If you are at “Home” the units go into a power saving mode that is incredibly efficient. Since my dogs spend the majority of their time in that zone I’ve had my units on and running for the past 6 days and they are both still at 80% battery life. I estimate the battery could last a couple of weeks in the power saving mode based on what I see now. I will continue to monitor but thus far I am very pleased with the battery life which is considerably better than my cell phone and smart watch that have to be charged daily. I can also say, if you are traveling with the dogs you could always turn the device off until you get out of the car with the dogs, this will extend the life.Cons: The upfront price is stiff for folks like me, especially if you have to buy two units. I bought mine for $59 each on sale which wasn’t so bad, but the subscription price is tough because they want it up front on the premium plans, $144.00 each. The basic subscription is $15. I can absolutely see that I want the premium plan just for the tracking history alone, so I will be getting it when I can. I wish tractive would offer a monthly subscription on the premium plan. For that reason I am deducting one star.I wish the GPS real time tracker would provide directions to get you to where your pet is. Yes, it shows the precise location of your animal but if you don’t know where Red Stone street is from your location on Brown Stone street, knowing where your dog is doesn’t help you GET TO YOUR DOG. In my case I had a second phone that I was able to ask it to navigate me to the location where Tractive said my dog was. It would be helpful if Tractive could navigate you to drive or walk to where it shows the dog’s location to be.Untested: I don’t know how this product will work when I’m out in the bush but it does use GPS satellites, cell phone towers, blue tooth and radar mode to track your pet, so I will be testing to see how effective it is in the bush in upcoming winter months. But as far as using it in the city, I’m very pleased thus far.Overall: I like the damned thing. I think I might give it the fifth star back. It gives me peace of mind in knowing that my fur babies are okay and safe! I wish I would have bought this before I lost my beloved Brave Heart (Jack Russell Terrier) who was also a great escape artist. If I would have had this I would not have lost him a year ago. My heart is still broken at the disappearance of his sweet soul from my life. Daddy misses you Brave Heart and I pray you are well.

Accurate tracking with ease of use app
Look, I’ve tried several trackers over the past 10 years. To be absolutely honest, every one has had big issues that affected their usefulness for my needs. I have 3 hunting dogs. I live on 35 wooded acres. I do not have a fence or any other containment system on my property. Our dogs have full run of the property, but we obviously do not want them going onto adjacent properties. We have wildlife in our area, as we live in a rural area. I’ve had these trackers for about a month. We demand a lot from the trackers – rain, snow, daily all day wear, swimming, etc. have all been done to these trackers. After all that, with 3 active hunting dogs, these trackers have survived and stood up to everything we’ve thrown at them. We have them attached to our dog’s training collars, so if we get a warning that they are out of their safe zone, we can beep them and they come back. We have the active xl model and used the provided silicone “clips” to attach to their collars. We have had no issues with loss of the trackers, the clips have worked well for us. The batteries last for us about 3 weeks with the tracker turned on from 8am to 6 pm daily. Tracking is accurate and reliable, which is a life or death requirement for our dogs with hunters on surrounding properties. I expected to find these trackers to have major flaws, like all the rest I’ve tried. I’m very happy to say I’ve found nothing major. The tracker itself is a bit big, but perhaps the other sizes are smaller. Our dogs are all between 65-90 lbs., so we needed the larger size. The app was very easy to set up and use. Hopefully, they last a long time because I am super happy with this tracker and don’t need to keep searching anymore. I finally found the tracker that does everything I need!

En el caso de comprarlo en la tienda online de Tractive la oferta se llama San Valentín y en el caso de Amazon se llama Oferta Flash, pero el resultado es el mismo, un 30% de descuento sobre el precio original. En mi caso opté por comprarlo en Amazon por las coberturas de garantía que ofrece Amazon y porque, al ser cliente Prime, el envío era en un día y así me aseguraba de que llegaría a tiempo para San Valentín.En cuanto al dispositivo, aunque llevamos pocos días con el, estamos muy contentos pues todo se gestiona a través de una aplicación y a mi parecer es muy clara e intuitiva. El dispositivo que yo he comprado es la edición Tractive XL “Adventure Edition” (para perros de más de 22 Kilos) y en mi opinión es muy robusto y bonito, está bien diseñado y construido. En la caja, que tiene en mi opinión un diseño atractivo, se incluye el propio dispositivo, el cable de carga (que es magnético) y tres soportes de silicona en tres colores diferentes (naranja, verde y gris) para poder fijar el dispositivo al collar de nuestro peludo. En mi caso he optado por ponerle una brida de plástico extra para mi tranquilidad, aunque esto no sería necesario.Decir que este dispositivo requiere de una suscripción (según diferentes planes de precios donde cada uno elige el que mejor se adapte a sus necesidades) y la suscripción se paga en el momento de activación del dispositivo y todo se gestiona a través de la propia aplicación y está disponible tanto para iOS como para Android. Sin esta suscripción el producto no puede ser ni utilizado ni activado. Es importante leer el manual de instrucciones así como las indicaciones que vienen en la propia caja pues son de gran ayuda y utilidad para poder activar el dispositivo. Dispone además de una pequeña luz led y sonido que se activan desde la propia aplicación móvil. El sonido es un poco tenue, al menos para mi oído, pero no así para el de Blacky que lo escucha perfectamente. Al principio pensé que la unidad comprada podía tener algún problema en cuanto al volumen del sonido que emite el dispositivo, pero tras contactar con el servicio de atención al cliente de Tractive a través de mensaje escrito (al cual se puede acceder y encontrar en un apartado dentro de la propia aplicación) me han respondido que el sonido no es muy alto para no asustar o incomodar al perro ya que su facultad auditiva es mucho mayor que la del hombre y que esta función de sonido se puede utilizar como llamada para que el perro regrese si previamente nuestro peludo ha sido entrenado para que regrese al oír la señal. La verdad es que me parece una buena idea y estamos intentando ponerla en práctica. La luz tiene bastante visibilidad en ambientes oscuros.En cuanto a Blacky este dispositivo no le molesta o incomoda en absoluto, incluso duerme con el para poder monitorear las horas y la calidad del sueño y descanso, y lo hemos estrenado ayer por de Día de San Valentín en uno de nuestros paseos.Actualizo mi opinión tras unas semanas de uso, y tengo que decir que estoy encantado con este localizador, tanto sobre su uso y manejo, su diseño así como también su soporte técnico y atención al cliente. La batería del dispositivo dura mucho en mi opinión, la primera carga le ha durado aproximadamente un mes y medio. Recomiendo este dispositivo y aprovechando alguna campaña promocional de descuento como fue en mi caso y uno de los motivos principales para comprarlo, te puedes ahorrar un buen dinero. Muy contento con la compra!!

Działa jak chce, niby przeprowadza synchronizację ale nie pokazuje pełnych wyników i cały czas krzyczy że muszę więcej używać lokalizatora 🙂 No faktycznie !! Dziennie pies ze mną robi ponad DWIEŚCIE minut treningów a tu takie komunikaty. Kolejna sprawa to SUPPORT który wcale nie pomaga tylko przeprasza i nic więcej. Ode mnie tylko NACIĄGANE TRZY GWIAZDKI !!!
