Cuts beautifully but only if you keep the tension higher than recommended
I am a professionally trained convex edge sharpener. I sharpen all manner of convex edges such as high end barber shears, pet grooming clipper blades (A5 type) like this one and small stock animal clippers. I use an Andis AGC2 clipper, faux fur and a collection of professional tools specifically designed to sharpen and test convex grooming clipper blades.First, I’m going to start by saying that this TRAH 5/8 blade is the exact same thing as the Docal 5/8 blade. Same design, same manufacturer, even the same ad photos and graphics.That being said, it cuts really smoothly right out of the package. The two things that I wanted to improve was the haphazard oiling and the tension that was set to about 7lbs. I disassembled the blade, re-oiled it and lowered the spring tension to the recommended 3 lbs. When I reassembled the blade it dragged and cut horribly! A total fail. Apparently this blade design only likes to cut smoothly at high tensions. Unfortunately, high tension means high friction which means high heat. I normally wouldn’t recommend a blade that runs hot since the higher friction makes your expensive clipper work harder and hotter. However, if you knew you had just a small touch-up, detailing job I would use this blade in short bursts because it really does cut nicely and the narrow format is great for those hard to shave spots around the toes, pads, dew claws, eyebrows etc.I would recommend this narrow format blade but only with a friction and possibly overheating caveat.

Sharp blades and fit Oster A5
I was happy to finally get blades that I could trim my Cushings horse without clipping the hair too close. My poor mare is a yak and grows way too much coat even for the winter. I like to trim some of the coat off but don’t want to outright body clip her as she’s retired and lives outside. These blades do the trick leaving a 1/2″ or so of winter coat.

This is a very nice blade and it works well. It clips onto my super old Andis clipper perfectly and cuts the hair nice and close. It works just as well, if not better than my older, name brand blades.

Perfect fit and worked great with my Wahl KM10 dog grooming clippers!
I have been grooming my dogs since 2020 due to COVID-19. I am still building up my collection of blades, and this Trah 5FC blade did not disappoint. This 5FC blade easily clipped directly into my Wahl KM10 grooming clippers, and they worked very well from the start – no issues whatsoever. I have 3 shih-tzus and 1 schnoodle with dense, curly hair. I was able to trim all of them easily using this 5FC blade. It is a perfect blade for leaving hair at a good length when not too hot and not too cold outside. The Trah 5FC blade is a great quality blade, and I believe it is one that will deliver long-term. I recommend it!
