Different
This reasonably priced TTArtisan 75mm F1.5 lens is different than your regular, sharp, AF fast prime lens. Instead, you get something a bit unusual. Different bokeh is the main effect. You never know what the final outcome will be, especially wide open – but chances are you’ll like the result. It’s constructed like a professional lens, made of metal, beautiful finish and of course heavy but sturdy. It has a threaded screw-on lens cap and uses an M42 lens adapter to your camera which you must order separately. Mine worked perfect for the Nikon Zf. It is a manual focus lens that does not auto-focus nor communicate with your camera, so you’ll need to feel comfortable shooting full manual. But that’s not difficult and you can expect to have some fun with this lens. Try shooting at f/1.5 with a close subject for the most bokeh affects. 5-stars.

Lovely bokeh, reliable quality, great price
I, like you (probably) was into the look of some of the shots from Poor Things. I priced the petzval and saw how itâs out of stock a lot. I then looked deeper and found the Helios 44-2, but found that itâs either cheap and itâs a gamble on what model you get, or itâs expensive and youâre paying several times more for it than the seller paid. I ended up getting the TTArtisans 75mm over the rest because it looks great, thereâs no gamble on whether it will be clean/functional , and the price is right. I do really want to get the Lomography 58 Petzval and Iron Glass Helios rehousing someday, but I love this lens. The focus is sharp and the bokeh is beautiful. It is sturdy but not too heavy. It is my new favorite lens and I will probably buy a second. Iâve mostly been doing product photography and portraits, but Iâve shot some nice video with it too. Iâm working on a full in-depth review for YouTube.Update: The video was shot handheld on my canon R8. There was no editing done to the video, itâs raw from the camera. To the people complaining about the lens being upside down: You can flip the lens by carefully loosening the screws on the lens and rotating the lens. I am kind of clumsy so I bought a Pholsy M42 to RF mount. That mount allows you to flip the orientation of the lens without unscrewing the lens. It comes with an Allen wrench and it took me about one minute to fix the orientation.

Good lens for the price
Iâve been using this lens for my Instagram videos showcasing my bonsai trees, and it has been fantastic for the job. The swirly bokeh it creates brings a unique and artistic touch to my footage, adding depth and character that perfectly complements my bonsai gardenâs aesthetic. The build quality is also very impressiveâsturdy and solid, giving it a durable, premium feel that inspires confidence in its longevity. However, the lens cap design is a bit puzzling. It requires screwing and unscrewing, which feels unnecessary, so I swapped it out for a simpler cap.

Love this lens, beautiful vintage reproduction
This lens is a fun challenge. Lots of opportunities for fun and creative photos but also a practical professional option.Amazing value for money, I bought the m42 mount and I love that flexibility.I can use this on any of my bodies with an appropriate adapter. While a heavier than most, it clearly is built to last. It doesn’t feel unwealdy to use and the focus throw is perfect.Absolutely beautiful wide open and incredibly sharp stopped down.

This lens is a lot of fun
I bought this lens expecting it to be a lot of fun to play with and expecting a lot of really swirly bokeh. Honestly, you have to go a bit out of your way to really achieve a noticeably swirly bokeh, but that being said, this lens is A LOT of fun to shoot with.Manual focus ring feels great. Build quality is wonderful. Image quality at f/1.5 is super soft, but definitely a vibe. It starts to clean up by f/2 and looks it’s very best at f/2.8. In my opinion f/2.8-f/4 is there this lens really shines. The bokeh while not the swirliest thing in the world is incredibly creamy and smooth, and that is true all the way up through f/4.If you are thinking about buying this lens then you should know that you will need an adapter to mount it onto your modern camera body. I can recommend the adapters made by K&F. They have worked great for me.So anyways, it’s not a lens that I am going to start using for client work, but it IS a lens that has inspired me to start randomly taking pictures of my kids 24/7. So for me it’s a 5 out of 5.

Great Lens.
This lens is so much fun, great for the swirly bokeh. I bought the URTH Canon RF adaptor and it works great with this lens.

Non-conformance galore! M42 mount with no infinity focus with DOF & F-stops facing downlorem ipsum
Wow! Not only does the mount align upside down where when screwed into my Spotmatic or adapter for a Fuji mirrorless but it doesn’t focus at infinity. It focuses past infinity. Two problems one of them annoying and one of them just terrible. What garbage QA.

Well made and can’t beat the price. I like the results more than my Helios 40
