Quiet, well balanced and clips nicely.
Pro groomer here.I have been using this KM5 for a few days now and really like it. Its quiet and clips without getting bogged down even going under pelted coats. I would say it’s 100% equal to my Andis AGC that I have been using, but the KM5 is a little lighter and the weight is a little more forward than the Andis. The KM5 is waider at the blade end and it has far less weight at the cord end compared to the andis so I found the KM5 far less fatiguing. I also like that it came with a 30 blade (I have more than enough 10’s) and stainless combs instead of cheap plastic.If you are a home user why choose the KM5? Better results. Most home kits come with an adjustable blade and plastic comb attachments and using it typically ends in frustration. This is a professional kit and will easily clip through any coat. But note, wash your dog and get him fully dry. Brush and comb him before clipping, there can’t be any mats or knots. This clipper has a 30 blade, you don’t want to use this blade without a comb as by itself it will shave him almost to the skin. But this clipper accepts other blades. If your dog is prone to matting or is pelted, buy a 7FC blade that will get under the mats, he will be super short, but not shaved. Also you can buy additional comb attachments in all different lengths to snap on this clipper, but get stainless ones, plastic ones are just a headache.And whatever clipper you use,be careful around skin flaps, arm pits, back legs etc especially with thin skinned dogs like yorkies, maltese etc.You will be much happier with this kit over the many generic consumer grade kits on the market.

I have a golden retriever with an extremely dense and slightly curly coat. We’ve used groomers, but I’m pretty much never happy with the results (very slight trims) considering the cost. I’ve tried a couple different cheapo clippers and they take FOREVER to do a cut that makes my poor boy look like no one loves him.If you’re looking at these clippers you probably know what you’re getting, and I’m not an expert so I won’t belabor the point. They are excellent. It took me two minutes to do what would have been half an hour with cheap clippers. They cut straight through his ultra dense rear-end hair. The cord is super long and sturdy. The unit is heavy and dense and just feels like quality. It’s a simple machine that so far has done it’s job excellently.

Good pro-quality clippers for home use
Pro clippers can easily cost $250 and above, like the Wahl KM10 that is a little more powerful.And lesser-quality, sub-$100 clippers can be not up to the job of clipping thick or wiry dog and special breed cat hair.This KM5 model hits the sweet spot between the price points. Pro groomers may be want something with a little more horsepower, but I find that this is working for our poodle cross. And, they promise to save quite a few dollars in the long run by saving some trips to the groomer.Note that, just like the KM10, this unit takes any 10, 15, or 30 blades.Recommended.âï¸1 star – I don’t recommend it at all, poor quality.âï¸âï¸ 2 stars – I don’t recommend it: has multiple faults, or a very high price.âï¸âï¸âï¸ 3 stars – It’s passable: it has some faults but the quality is ok for what it is.âï¸âï¸âï¸âï¸ 4 stars – Product quite acceptable and it does what it promises.âï¸âï¸âï¸âï¸âï¸ 5 stars – Product that I totally recommend.

Long cord!
It is labeled lightweight, but itâs still pretty heavy, but it fits well in my hands and is comfortable to hold. The clippers feel like very good quality. Itâs corded with a 14 foot cord which is very helpful when youâre trying to groom a dog. It comes with two different size clips. One is a 5/8 inch clip and the other one 1 inch clip. I think it might be nice if there were another size or two since there are different fur length preferences with different beds. It’s really nice that it came with clipper grease and stuff to help take care of it. Very well packaged.

This is such a great clipper for the thick coated curly hair dogs. It works really well to cut through the curls and is worth the price, especially to think of all the money you’ll save on professional grooming. It’s not to hard to figure out how to use I just am not used to it so don’t like going too close to areas like the face, ears, and paws so just use little clippers for now there and will still probably go to a real groomer a couple times a year to help keep her looking professionally nice lol

Extremely sharp and high quality clipper
Great clipper that does a great job at cutting hair. It has two speeds which i personally don’t find too useful but may be good for people that are newer to clipping your dogs hair. I’m personally not a fan of how there’s limited size clipper sizes. I wish this clipper included more attachments since the two sizes are relatively long and I find that I like my dog with relatively shorter hair rather than the long sizes that they included.
