This grooming kit is fantastic.I have a long haired cat (named floof ball) and she would get knotted up often and id spend forever with a pair of scissors trying to get her hair cut.Not anymore though.she actually lets me use this on her.It is surprisingly quiet.It cuts hair really easy and I love that it comes with different sized guards so I can get her hair a shorter general length that’s easier for her to maintain on her own.If she does end up with a knotted up spot I can just quickly and easily cut it out without problems.It doesn’t pull or catch on her and has made life much easier.The clippers are comfortable to hold and use.I am really happy that I got this.

works well on my shaggy dogs
I have two very large shaggy dogs, and paying a fortune to groom them is not an option for me. I try to do what I can at home. These clippers are the best I’ve tried. The handheld unit is heavy duty, these are definitely pro-quality clippers. They are quiet, so my dogs cooperate when it’s time for a cleanup. They make very quick work of trimming, and my dogs both have really long, thick hair with undercoats, so not all clippers I’ve tried can get the job done like this. I like that several guards are included, so I can do a sanitary area close trim as well as a decent-looking cleanup in other areas where I want to leave their hair longer. I wasn’t sure I’d like the corded option, as I’ve tried several cordless clippers, but honestly the cord doesn’t get in the way and I love not having to worry about battery life or charging them. They are ready to go any time. I love these, and with the amazing quality, I expect these to last a very long time. Worth the investment.

Very nice clipper, disappointing package.
i’ve been using an older version of this clipper to cut my hair and it’s worked great but i thought i’d try a new one to see if it is any better. I guess I should make it clear that the animal i’m clipping is me, as far as I can tell there’s no difference between the versions except advertising copy.The good news is that it is, the new clipper is very nice. It’s made of metal, very solid, and has a nice cord with a braided covering, very reminiscent of a clipper from 40 years ago. Even better, it cuts great, much better than my old one. it made very short work of my beard and hair, even the back of my head which is always a bit of a struggle. One welcome feature is that it is a lot quieter than the old model. The sound it makes is much different, more of a low frequency rumble than a high pitched buzz, it’s much more pleasant and if you were cutting a critter they’d probably be much less bothered by it.The bad news, well the ‘kit’ it came with is quite disappointing. The case is thin and flimsy with cardboard inside to firm it up. The “pro’ kit came with just four guards, and they’re the cheapest, all plastic ones available. A few years ago I bought of set of 8 or 9 with metal bases for a few bucks and they do fit this new clipper so apparently they’re pretty universal.In summary, I really like the clipper but I not so much with the rest of the package. If you order the clipper and a better set of guards you’ll be ahead.

Cuts with no bogging down.
I have standard poodles, I have been letting their winter coat grow out for about 3 months. These clippers came in and I needed trim their face, feet and groin area. Comparing these to similar priced Andie’s Clippers I have had for probably 10 years. I belive my old clippers are still as good as the day I bought them, having said that these clippers are as powerful as those, glide though long hair, only slowed down when I ran into some matted hair on one of their elbows.The Andie’s were two speed, these have one speed. The Andie’s low speed was nice to keep the noise down around their faces and maybe keep the dogs calm. These Wahl clippers are very quiet, so no low speed really needed. I never heard the motor change speed or bog down. When it did bog on the matted hair it was because the blades could not handle it, the motor was doing fine. Grip on motor is good.Things I would like better.A longer cord, my old ones have a cord that is very long, could use another 5 feet on this one. Cord is nice though, very flexible.Case is cheap, zipper is not great. But its a soft case so you can just shove stuff in it, vs a hard case were everything has to be just right for the lid to close.These clippers can nick the skin if you have it adjusted all the way forward and put the blade at a 90 degree angle to the skin. They are capable of cutting all the hair off, just be careful about the nicking. But this is a skill thing, not a problem with the clippers.Great clippers over all. I have used cheap clippers. If you can give those up and get some nice clippers like these, so much better.

Good Basic Tool But Not a Slam Dunk
These clippers are great basic clippers, but were not great with matted hair as was advertised. They do not compare to my 35 year old Wahl clippers that, alas, I am no longer able to find blades for.
