Great Product
After many hours of research, decided to go with the YoLink product line. Purchased the hub, water sensors, water valve controller, couple of the outlet controls, motion sensor, and a door sensor (which by the way works fantastic for the garage door eliminating the question 5 minutes after leaving home, did we close the garage door?) The outlet controller is great, scan the QR code which will connect it to your hub, plug it in and done. You can control the plug from your phone. The Yolink app is easy to use, controls everything on the system with a lot of different options. Sends alerts to your email or via text message. The best part, the app is FREE, no subscription costs. Adding equipment is a breeze, just scan the QR code on the device and it connects wireless to the hub.

A decade ago a made a cigar humidor out of an igloo cooler. Living in the northeast and having the humidor in my basement I was unable to maintain the &0 degrees that I wanted for my stogies. I procured an electronic HVAC control that I triggered with an electronic temp sensor. The HVAC control would then output 120V to a small incandescent bulb inside the humidor. 5 years ago I relocated to Florida so cold snaps rarely lasted long enough to concern me. Until this winter. My previous setup no longer worked and I didn’t relish the thought of troubleshooting it. Since I already had a Yolink Temp/Humidity sensor in the humidor I reached out to support and asked if it would trigger a smart plug. The answer was yes. Been working like a charm. Had a bit of an issue setting it up but tech support walked me through the process in real time.

So I’m a cybersecurity engineer, automating my personal systems. I have houses 700 miles apart, and I have a ridiculous level of automation because that’s just how I roll.So much of the gear I use works great when I’m in the room, and fails the hour I leave for the other house. Wifi is a wonderful thing, when it works. The problem is it is easy to jam up wifi, AND so many of the IOT devices are based on 2.4ghz wifi that can be shut down by any baby monitors that use wifi frequencies but do not use wifi. A baby monitor /can/ shut down any 2.4ghz wifi within a half mile. So as a result I see tons of wifi failures in that 2.4ghz band. It’s not just baby monitors, but those are a common example, there are many others.Yolink uses loran technology for communication, easily overcoming wifi failure modes. This is important to ME. Your mileage may vary.I have only two issues with yolink products. One is the speakerhub, it is wifi only, so it falls outside of my “sphere of reliability”, I /really/ with it had an ethernet port. Speakerhub makes a noise when wifi goes up and down… I hear that noise a LOT. And it isn’t my wifi router’s fault, any properly operating wifi AP will fail to operate when blocked by a interfering signal, that is a required part of the wifi protocol, wifi that doesn’t do this is actually illegal because it might be near a military radar installation. The second thing about YoLink is that sometimes I need polling cycles of short duration, so for example a temperature probe on an air conditioner will need to have fast polling cycles to capture the curves needed to check performance of the unit. The hour polling cycles are great for most things, but sometimes I need more frequent polling cycles, even if only temporary. I wish there was a way for me to buy extra polling cycles on a month to month basis, but I think that functionality is probably reserved to larger customers with larger operations.So the power of the yolink platform is that because it is not on your wifi, it can be used to repair and remediate issues with your wifi.In my redundancy setup, I have a hub on each of the ISP’s feeding a site, so that if one ISP is down, I can reboot the router from the other ISP connection, from anywhere on the planet. And in the short time I have been doing this, I have used it to resolve issues with both ISP’s, thereby avoiding 20 hours of driving. I have many brands of remote power modules, as well as temperature sensors, 4 brands of surveillance cameras, a cisco dual-wan router, hvac controls, and automations to manage some of my personal “infrastructure”. YoLink has been the solution for many problems, and a joy to build ifttt automations for. It is clean and simple.

Great device from a great company.
Great smart electrical plugs. I now have about a dozen of these smart plugs from Yolink. Yolink makes their devices extremely easy to setup. Open the Yolink app, at the top of the screen is the icon to scan QR codes, tap on it, scan the QR code on the Yolink smart device (smart plug in this case). The app shows it has the device’s (plug’s) information. Tap the bind button and basically it is done. You can then select the device’s settings and rename to something useful and even assign it to a room if you would like.One of the greatest things Yolink has done is with the integration between their app and their Alexa skill. Once you scan and bind a Yolink device, if you use Alexa and have the Yolink hub, the new Yolink device is automatically added to the list of devices and is available/controllable by Alexa. You do not need to open the Alexa app, go into settings, then device setting, press the plus (+) to add a new device, then press scan for new devices and HOPE the new device is found. With Yolink, the new Yolink device is already added to Alexa and waiting for you to give it a command or create a routine for it.I do have other Yolink devices such as their motion sensors, hand remote and their hub. From the time the motion sensors detects motion and the Yolink plug turns on, is almost instant. Other companies hubs take a few seconds and if you are using wifi, no hub devices, it can take over five seconds to react.For the motion sensors, I have setup IFTTT routines in the hub to turn on/off lights connected to these plugs. Does NOT need the internet to work, once setup.Because of the easy of setup, quick response time and the Alexa automatic integration, I wish there were an option for ten (10) stars, So, far, Yolink and their line of smart home devices deserve every star.One last thing, I have found that Yolink DOES read user’s feedback AND accept suggestions from their customers. For this, I give two thumbs up ðð to Yolink and its C/S.

Very easy set up
Excellent item long range connection with the hub. I bought seven of these. I donât think they took me more than maybe 30 seconds each to set up in program outstanding product I would recommend to anybody.

I ordered 3 of these smart plugs (on sale) @ Amazon (The delivery ð¦ was fast) , these werenât my first YoLink devices and they need also the required YoLink hub. The 10 amp is sufficient for most small appliances ! however I wouldnât personally use them for any kind of heating application ! a nice addition to my âsmart collection of YoLink devicesâ the connectivity is great and set up with the QR code is easy I ordered 3 more of them and I recommended them and they are backed with a great customer (in person) service !

Using this awesome and super simple outlet in a couple of applications. The first is to turn on my tractor’s block heater when I need to clear the laneway. No more getting all dressed and trudging thru the snow.Second application is to control a tiny heater under a sink with the help of the Yolink Temp sensor and the Yolink automation. Instead of having to heat the entire room with propane to keep the water from freezing, now I can just heat the small space under the sink. Saving lots of $$ over the winter!

Love Yolink products for my smart house. Devices respond quickly, are reliable and have a great range of response. I use this device in combination with other Yolink devices for my Sump Pump setup in my basement. These devices easily link with Home Assistant for a whole home automation solution.
