Customers say
Customers find the animal recovery collar cone functional and comfortable for their pets. They praise its design and quality. However, some customers have reported issues with air retention, mentioning the balloon inside would not stay inflated after about 3 days. There are mixed opinions on durability, size, and licking.

Great for cats! Read review for tips and tricks.
This is definitely a great alternative to the cone especially for cats. A couple of things to know though. This collar is not as soft to the touch as others but it is probably more claw resistant. My cat hasnât tried to claw at it but he is a super chill cat. MOST important, you MUST attach this to a regular collar or it is coming right off! If your pet has never worn a regular collar, think of it this way, with this thing around their neck, they are not even going to be aware of the collar. You can use a soft/flexible nylon collar to attach it (these are the most common collars that you can find just about anywhere.) Now, here are my suggestions to make this the least stressful as possible. First, please measure your catâs neck before ordering. For comfort, my 15 lb needs a 10â collar which is the medium size. Second, as opposed to the nylon collar to attach this to, consider getting a âcalmingâ collar. These release pheromones that mimic the pheromones that mother cats release for their kittens. Third, remember that cats groom compulsively, not being able to, could cause some discomfort or stress (imagine having an itchy nose and not being able to scratch it!) I took care of this by using hypoallergenic pet wipes and a soft brush. Gently wipe down the cat with the wipes. I made sure to get around his eyes (VERY GENTLY) and his chin and cheeks. (Unless instructed by your vet to clean the wound, do not try to wipe it). Then I used a soft bristle hair brush (not too soft, like for an infant, just a regular soft bristle hair brush). I also used an unused, very soft bristle toothbrush to brush his cheeks and around the edges of the collar. My cat has a gaping wound. He was attacked by another cat and the wound wasnât too bad but he made it worse by licking it too much. He licked most of the fur off around it, which is good because it makes it easier to apply medication but healing wounds can itch. What I do is to, very carefully, wipe down the fur around the wound and then lightly brushing the fur away from or around it. I think this helps reduce itching and keeping the fur off the area. My catâs wound is weeping so itâs important to keep the fur from sticking to it. Also, regularly run your fingers under the collar to smooth down the fur there. There should be enough room to be able to get the tops of two fingers in there without any pulling. Doing all this has helped tremendously with my kittyâs comfort and itâs great bonding time. He spends a lot of time snoozing and he purrs a bunch when we are doing the grooming ritual. I do it once or twice a day.One more thing, I didnât inflate mine all the way. Itâs most of the way there but its not rigid to the touch.Oh, and he can reach his food and water with no issues. Good luck and I hope your babies get better soon!

Absolutely Does The Job!
I found a small skin infection under my dogâs fur. You notice when they start licking the area a lot. He wouldnât let me near it. My great neighbor gave me hers to borrow. I didnât think it would work. That he would just push through this soft collar and go after the area again. I was wrong! It was very comfortable for him when he slept, laid down or anything he wanted to do. Very comfortable for him! Very UNLIKE those plastic cones you get elsewhere or at the vetâs office. Not only could I clean the area, put antibiotic on it, etc..he left it alone to where it healed in a short period of time, and it has not returned! As soon as I saw his reaction to this collar (they can eat or drink fine!) I went immediately here and bought the exact same thing here. Same name and everything. (My neighbor told me she got hers from the vet and it was expensive). I returned hers to her, thanking her profusely, and now we have our own. It is adjustable velcro around the neck and they donât even seem to realize they have it on. It is light but very well made. I am extremely happy with this purchase.

Must have collar to use
The only thing I didnât like about this inflatable recovery collar. The hole cut in the outer shell. So you can put air the bladder fill nozzle. It appears to be cut out with a pair of scissors. There is no thread sewn around the hole to prevent it from fraying or tearing. This hole started fraying and began to tear. When my Cat trying to get the inflatable recovery collar from around her neck. This hole should have stitches sewn around it. I sewed thread around the hole myself. To reinforce the hole. Preventing my cat from causing the hole to fray and tear. Also make sure you get a break away collar for a cat. The one I had. I had to file the break away clip. So my cat couldnât get the break away collar to disconnect. But still allowed my cat to get the collar to break away. If she got herself in a position that could strangle her. At night when my wife and I go to sleep. Our cat tolerates the collar on her when my wife and I are awake. Our Cat Jypsee figured out how to get this inflatable recovery collar. In between the dining room chair leg and the tables leg and keep pulling to have the collar break away. Now we remove the plastic inflatable recovery collar before we go to sleep. Jypsee has not been licking her wound anyway. Jypseeâs vet gave us antibiotics. Her wound is finally starting to heal. We still canât figure out how Jypsee got this wound. She is a strictly indoor Cat. It is not emotionally easy for my wife clean Jypseeâs wound daily. Jypsee cries her butt off while my wife is cleaning and then flushing out Jypseeâs wound, everything used is sterile. Then my wife applies Manuka Honey to the wound. It is not emotionally easy for me, while Iâm holding Jypsee so she canât run away. Everything being used to clean Jypseeâs wound is sterile. While everything that needs to be done is happening. Jypsee is crying her butt off the whole time. It has to be extremely painful for her. Our cat has to know what my wife and I are doing is helping her. Jypsee is more my wifeâs cat than mine. Since my wife has been doing the wound care on Jypsee. She wonât allow my wife to pick her up. Jypsee hisses and tries to bite my wife if she tries to pick her up. Jypsee is up my butt. Continuously looking for attention. My wife is very upset about that. Our other Cat Chloe is more my cat than my wifeâs. Now Chloe wonât come near me because of the attention Iâm giving Jypsee. She hisses and tries to bite me if I try to pick her up. My wife and I rescued both of these cats when they were kittens. That were days from being euthanized. All of our pets have been rescued from being euthanized. They all lived lives of luxury. The same as the 2 cats we care for now do. If you choose to get a dog or cat. Please be responsible and get them spayed or neutered as soon as they can have this procedure done to them. There are over 1.5 million dogs and cats euthanized every year in the USA. Also donât get a puppy, kitten, dog or cat. Unless you are willing to care for them for the rest of their lives. Puppies can be really challenging. Not so much for kittens. It may be a better choice to get a mature dog or cat. Our first family dog was 1 year old. She was 1 day from being euthanized. When I fist saw her. She came right over and wanted to be petted. I petted her for a few minutes. Then I gave her the Hand test. Where I quickly moved my arm and hand towards this dogs face. She peed and curled up in the corner of the cage and began shaking. It took at least a full hour to get this dog to come to me. I was determined to get this dog to trust my family. She was a beautiful dog. She was extremely friendly and just needed a loving family to look after her. It was obvious the people or person that had her before we took her home. Definitely physically abused this dog. What surprised me she was house trained. Right after I brought her hone I gave her food and water. Then I was going to take her outside and wait until she went. Right after she ate,she went right to the door I brought her in through. She started doing a little dance. I knew then she would already house trained. It took a full 2 months before this dog finally Started trusting me. In another month she trusted me 100%. I could do the hand thing and she would just look at me. Like why are you doing that. She was by far the best family dog we ever cared for. My wife and family have never hit any of the pets we cared for. A few of our pets were very difficult. Through patience and love they turned out great. Puppies always purchase a bunch of dried cow Hooves. This will prevent them from chewing on everything. It isnât there fault. They are teething. Itâs your fault by not addressing the problem and purchasing a bunch of dried cow Hooves. Once you get any puppies chewing on dried cow Hooves and have plenty laying around for the puppy to chew on. We NEVER had any puppies chew on anything but the hooves. Since Iâve been married going on 50 years. My wife and I have cared for 1 adult dog and 3 puppies. I had the puppies house trained in 3 days. Donât rely on your children to do this. Either you and or your wife has to. Children promise they are take care of a puppy. But wonât and this is normal. It is simple, but you must follow these directions. When you pick up a puppy at least 10 weeks old. Ask when the last time they were given food and water. Try to pick up the puppy. Before they ate and drank water. This makes it much easier the first day. If the puppy was given food and water before you pick them up. Have a leash and collar and you are going to have to wait outside until the puppy goes poop and pee. Let the puppy decide where it wants to establish its bathroom. After they go, you praise and pet them. Saying good boy or good girl. Bring them inside your home. DO NOT ALLOW FOOD AVAILABLE TO THE PUPPY SO IT CAN EAT WHATEVER IT WANTS TO. JUST A TABLESPOON OR 2 OF WATER AVAILABLE. You have to begin a feeding regiment and follow it. If you picked up your puppy early in the morning. Feed and give water to the Puppy at noon. As soon as the puppy is done. Put the leash on it. Bring the puppy outside and let it decide where it wants to go. Believe me it shouldnât take more than 10 minutes before the puppy goes. Then pet and praise the puppy. Saying good boy or good girl. Puppies love to be petted and praised. Walk it inside your house. NO FOOD AND JUST A COUPLE TABLESPOONS OF WATER AVAILABLE. At 6:00 pm give the puppy food and as much water as it wants. As soon as the puppy is done eating and drinking water. Put leash on it and walk the puppy outside to the area it last went poop and pee. As soon as the puppy goes. Pet and praise, saying good boy or good girl. Walk the puppy back inside your house. NO FOOD AND JUST A COUPLE TABLESPOONS OF WATER AVAILABLE. The next morning repeat everything Iâve written. In 3 days your puppy will know your house is not its bathroom. You have to do this regiment until the puppy is at least 6 months old. Remember a puppy canât hold its poop or pee until they are at least 6 months old. If your puppy does have a accident. It should happen by the door you take them outside from. This means your puppy is House trained. If the puppy does have a accident. It is most likely your fault. DO NOT EVER HIT THE PUPPY OR ANY PET FOR ANY REASON. Itâs a puppy and not that smart. If your dog bites it your fault for not training it properly. All pets have different personalities. Through patience, understanding and love your pet will be give back what you give to them. It can be hard at times. Patience,Patience,Patience understanding and love. You can firmly say bad boy or bad girl. If it is not your fault that the puppy went to the bathroom in your house. If it is your fault and most likely it is. Clean up the mess with ammonia or vinegar. Donât allow the puppy to watch you. When the puppy is at least 6 months old they can hold themselves from pooping and peeing. But not for long. You have to wait at least a full year before you donât have to worry about your now dog will not turn your house into its bathroom. You have to weigh your puppy to know how much food to give it each time you give it food and water daily and how many times daily. It is as simple as that. To train your dog to not drag you around by the leash especially if it is a big dog is very simple. When you walk your dog. If he or she tries to drag you along. Donât allow the dog to do this. Stop and hold the by your side. Remember if your dog starts choking. It is choking itself. Just donât pull back on the leash. This can take awhile if you have been allowing your dog to drag you around. Once your dog stops trying to drag you around. Start giving them a treat and pet and praise them. Then it is simple to get your dog to walk along side you. When walking your dog. Shorten up the leash so it has to walk by your side. Every minute or so stop. Give the dog a treat and praise every time it stops when you stop. Donât allow your dog to walk ahead of you. This also doesnât take long. All the dogs my family has looked after. Were all big dogs. All of them would walk by my side and never bolt if it saw another animal. This is not cruel at all. It is having a big dog under your control. A big dog can injure or kill other animals. Or worse your dog bites someone or severely injures a person. Remember you are 100% responsible for your dog actions. Your dog will love you even more when you properly train it.Anyway,The best thing I like about this inflatable recovery collar is you can easily adjust the air pressure in the bladder. Allowing my cat to eat food and drink water.

Easy to use, easy to inflate, works in most situations. Pat attention to their “Body Guides” instructions to ensure it will protect your type of dog and post surgery needs.

The ZenPet PRO inflatable collar was perfect for my cat, while recovering from an operation. When he first wore the inflatable collar, my cat walked around like a model in slow motion. By day two he walked around normally.. I have recommended this collar to my friends.
